Many people who have babies use a baby monitor. It helps you keep an ear on the baby without actually being in the same room as them. They can be a very useful tool. But do they actually do more than advertised?
Imagine putting your baby (or younger sibling, niece, nephew, godchild, whatever) down for a nap. You go back into the living room and turn on the monitor. At first, all seems well. You can hear the noises of the house settling, and the baby's slow breathing. But then, things start to get strange. You hear footsteps. Step, creak. Step, creak. They're getting closer. The steps stop, and you hear a woman's voice. It's unintelligible, but the tone is as if she's speaking to the baby. Worried, you run upstairs to check on the baby. Of course, there's nothing there and it's sleeping peacefully. Does make you wonder, though.
