HUMANS
The humans can easily be blamed by the mutants for starting the war. Or you could look at it from their view. Children with the ability to toss cars as if they were toys, use lasers from their eyes and melt metal, read minds or even controll others. And with no way to know who is dangerous and who's not? The humans decided to create machienes to do the hunting down of the mutans. If they come peacefully, well camps or science labs. Other humans believe you want something done right do it yourself. Thus bounty hunters and mercenaries. Though don't think all humans are bad. Some aid the mutants and even set up entire towns unwelcome to robots and killers.

MUTANTS
X-Men - Those who wish to call themselves x-men must fallow the beliefs of the x-men. They don't kill. Unless by accident or if needed to keep you or your team safe. Pretty much the verry last resort you use. Not all are bad, just misguided in need of help. Then again in such dark times, its hard for some to fallow those beliefs.
Brotherhood - A verry independent lot. They don't like being confused with the goodie nice guys. (X-men) they have a strong distrust for humans and even some mutants who help humans. If they kill a human it wouldn't keep them up at night. They don't like working with the x-men but again... not much of a choice.
Out-casts and lone wolfs- Some mutants rather not live in groups or have anything to identify them. They live how they want, with humans or killing them as they please.
