Le'Beau sat on the beach, Shadowdancer his horse was just having fun running in the water. He sighed and shook his head, why did he have to be such a whimp around girls. Here he was a big bad warrior and he was afraid of even saying hello to any of the pretty elves the HQ had to offer. He sighed again and fell backwards onto the warm sand, all he had to say was..."This Sucks!"

Denerath had escaped...barely. He could've sworn that sometimes living in a house full of women was detrimental to his health. All that primping, and screeching and...he blinked as he felt something bump into him.

His hands automatically came down to steady whatever it was, and he looked down about half a foot to look into a girl's eyes...and she looked a bit scared. Smiling reassuringly, he gave her a light little shake. "Hey there now. You might wanna be a little more careful. Lucky for you, I'm softer than a fallen log."

Taking a look at her, he noticed her rich black outfit, similar, but different, from one of his friend's dancing costumes. The bangles at her wrists jingled as he shook her, and her shining green curls sparkled in the sun.

He shook his head. What was he doing, thinking about a human elf that way?

He settled onto his hindquaters, sitting a bit, so as to look at her better. If there was one thing the girls had taught him, it was manners, and how to treat a lady.

"No, I didn't know. I was just trying to escape my cousin Dariel...the girl is crazy, I swear. Her sister Lauriea is a bit less so, but all those girls...I'm the only male at my house!" He shuddered as he spoke of it, and laughed at the look on her face, before holding out a hand, tilting her chin up so he could look into her eyes when he spoke.

"I'm Denerath...you can call me Denth if you want. What should I call you?"

A look of pure shock registered across his face as his eyes followed the bow in her hand, his own caressing her cheek in an absent gesture, as it fell, and took him nearly with it.

"I am going to have Ralten curse that little brat Dariel from here until the next dimension when I get home!" In reflex, one of his front hooves smacked the ground, causing an indentation in the soil...and then he caught the look on Erae's face.

"You're cute when you smile...did you know that?"

He smiled and took her hand for a second, intending to place a soft kiss to it, when he heard his name being yelled from far behind him. It sounded suspiciously like Dariel and her little follower, Emilie.

Groaning, he grabbed Erae up in his arms and placed her on his back, grinning. "Hold on tight, okay?"

With that, he bounded off into the brush, and her arms came tight around him. Deciding to ignore the feeling that brought out, he ran through about a mile of forest before becoming winded, and settling down to rest in a small glade.

It that brat could catch him now, he deserved to be caught. Before sagging to the ground, he remembered Erae, and the fact that he had let her ride him. Shaking his head at what an idiot he was today, he kneeled to let her slide down.

((Bedtime for me. I'll pick this up again tomorrow when I get to school!))

His breath, still coming heavily, all but stopped when she kissed his cheek. It was odd to him, and a bit scary. Whenever his cousins or friends did that, it was something that had to be lived through...they were girls. You couldn't tell them no!

But this time was different. It...tingled.

Knocking himself back into reality, he grinned down at her and sat down comfortably, tail swishing to fan his overheated, lathered body, and gestured for Erae to do the same.

"So, now that we're safe from my crazy cousins...what brings you here? If you're heading somewhere, perhaps I can take you there when I catch my breath!" He realized he had just offered her another ride, and was ready to go ram his head into a tree.

Girls made men silly.
