I came across this in one of the papers from back home and thought that I would share it with you all.

Standing in the Gap. By Pastor Robert Dyal - Living Faith Assembly of God.
..............................................................................................................
Ezekiel 22:30 "And I sought for a man amoung them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but found none."
That's a sad scripture!
God sought for a man to stand in the gap for the land, but found none.
Of course, we thank God, He did finally find one and, of course, that was Jesus.
And now whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life.
That's our heritage. But Jesus stood in the gap between us and God. Now today we still need men and women to stand in the gap for us for Jesus, that we will become believers in Him. If we simply believe in Him we can have eternal life. However, Old Testiment people needed to obey the law and commandments that which was hard and wearisome.
Today I believe that anyone could be saved if they had a real intercessor.
Most of us today that are living for the Lord are not doing so because one day we just decided to get it right, or get our act together and start living right, but because somebody came along that had a burden for us and decided we weren't going to heaven without them!
Most of us today that are in church had a praying mother or father, or both or some other relative that stood in the gap for us.
The Bible tells us over and over the amount of power we have when it comes to accomplishing God's will.
James 5:16 says "... the effectual fevernt prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
Mark 9:23 "... all things are possible to him that believeth."
1John 5:14-15 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."
There are many others I won't mention. But remember also the church's Great Commission is, Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.
That's the GREAT COMMISSION not the GREAT SUGGESTION.
By Pastor Robert Dyal of the Living Faith Assembly of God.
..........................................................................................................
I just thought that we all needed to be remined of our jobs and God's will for each of us as we enter into this new year.
I did this because there are so many Christians out there that keep asking God in prayer: "Lord, Whatever is your will for me to do, just let me know and I will do it. I know that you saved me for some reason, just speak to me and let me know what it is that you want from me."
There you have it.
When we were all saved by grace, we were immediately instructed by The Holy Bible to do the great commission.
That maybe our only task by God in this life to do; and who knows, maybe that one someone you share Jesus with will in turn talk too a hundred, or a thousand, or even more people by YOU just doing the one thing that we are all charged with to do.
May God continue to bless you and your's always in all that you do and say in His names sake.
Your brother in Christ,
T.S.K.
