Hi everyone, I was a worship leader for the past 7 years at my church, and iv also played and served at other churches on the east coast of the U.S.A.Through out my lifetime of going to church I have developed a opinion that the modern church has become well sort of a Nursery for spiritual Baby's. Let me explain please Although Church serves a purpose and there are many Strong Christians there, I just feel like people have become utterly dependent on Church and not Christ I hear more and more people say "I need to hear a word from God this Sunday" then I heard a word from while I was praying in my room alone.Or better yet I hear more and more people say "Oh I had such a bad week I need to meet God at His house this Sunday" As if God is only at some Church building? That to me is the Talk of Spiritual baby's who Don't seek his face at Home who only speak in tounges at church and not in their Bedroom.I hear these types of things from so called "strong Christians"Being Strengthened by God should happen every day when we wake up when are you dying daily to ourselves? Somewhere along the line we got off thinking that Church is the only place where we meet God or where we get filled up, sure it can be that but if that's the only time you do it what kind of relationship will you have with God? Ask yourself, do you only worship on Sundays? Do you go to Church to hear a Word or Get a word Confirmed? To say no to Devotion is to say no to God, if you say no to devotion at home and you say yes to devotion at church your just kidding yourself.God wants all of our heart not just a piece on Sundays or a Wednesday night service. Are you growing? If you find yourself weak through out the week but strong on Sunday and the beginning of Monday then maybe one should examine there time management, "Time management" It's not a spiritual Doctrine but it plays a big role in our walk with God. No one mis-understand me I love church I really do I believe in it's power but I know that today's modern church with it's huge congregations and big worship bands we can become focused on that and not His face.Causing us to forget to Disciple the weak into the strong and help God's chosen become leaders of men and leaders of leaders.Instead of so many dependent on one man with a mic every Sunday to a high degree. And again don't misunderstand I love a good Sermon as much as the next but a sermon at church should not be our only Spiritual food.

If you have read 'The Word of God,' the church is not a building of mere bricks and cement. The Church is you, it is me, it is the fellow believer in Christ Jesus our Lord and our Savior. The "CHURCH", is a body of believers. To be more specific, the church is any saved person, and it is only when we gather together to fellowship and worship God and Christ Jesus that we become a BODY of believers also known in the New Testiment writtings of the apositle Paul that the body has many parts, but together we become one body, to which is also known as the 'Body of Christ', or known as 'The Bride of Christ' in which he will call us up to Him in the rapture; when He calls His CHURCH home.
As you are well aware of I am sure, that in the book of Hebrews it states "to not forsake yourself the assembly of one another." Also the Holy Bible states 'That iron sharpens iron', which means that we are to fellowship together in the house of the Lord.
It is true that way too many places of worship these days has too much 'dead wood' sitting in the pews taking up space and putting the charge that Christ Jesus gave unto to them when they were saved 'to go out unto all of the world and preach the gospel.' But in as much as there is 'dead wood' on the pews, they are also members of 'The Body of Christ' and have their part to do that may seem small to you or any other on looker, but they maybe a prayer warrior, or maybe they do nothing but tythe to mission - foriegn and domestic mission work or familys in missionary work.
If you are looking for "THE PERFECT CHURCH" to attend, I will be the first to tell you that it is not out there.
A church or worship center, is a hospital for sinners, Not a club for saints.
Not trying to give you a hard time about anything my fellow believer in Christ, just trying to help elaborate a bit on your discussion is all.
Remember - Draw close to God and He will draw close to you!
May God draw us all, ever closer to His perfect will. Your brother in Christ, David D. The Hawk

Amein, and amein again. To the both of you. Too many people think that once Saved, there's nothing else that needs to be done. Or that the only time we should call on Him is when we need something. (Daddy! I need more money! Can I have the car keys now?) But iur relationship with the Father is just that - a relationship. And if He's there for us 24/7, in every aspect of our lives, we should at least recognise that. lol Keep going, brother. As the rest of the staff can tell you, I've been on this rant for years. To the point of some... rather drastic measures... ~MW

Your rant just shows your care for the Lord and what goes on in His house, and 'we all fall short' from time to time. Even I do, the Lord knows that I am not perfect and I know that I am a work in progress. It is all part of learning to become more Christ-like in our walk with the Lord. Take care and may the Lord continue to watch over you and bless you in all that you do and say in His name sake. Your friend and brother in Christ Jesus; David D. The Hawk
