In the blessed name of Jesus, greetings!
When we take a good look at the sin and evil that surrounds us.
We must thank our Lord and Savior for allowing us to know without any doubt that God has always wanted the very best for those who love Him and are obedient to His will and purpose for our lives.
The Psalmist and King, David, as flawed and imperfect as he was, understood that God wanted the former shepherd boy to be more than a conqueror and king.
Writing in Psalm 107, verses 1 through 3, David gave us these words.
"O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south."
Now, as it was in David's time, we can look to God for love, grace and mercy and for redeemtion that only He can give.
The Easton's Bible Dictionary, tells us that redemption is the purchase back of something that had been lost, by the payment of a ransom.
This is exactly what Christ Jesus did for us on that cruel cross on Golgotha.
On that Friday, Jesus took upon His beaten and bloody shoulders all of the ugly and vile sins that started in the Garden of Eden and have continued through today and on until our Lord and Savior comes again to stand on the Mount of Olives.
Jesus sacrificed Himself, that day, for you and for me.
How can we know it for sure and what is our obligation to Christ?
Let's look at a few verses shall we.
The Bible, which I firmly believe is the faithful and true Word of God, tells us this in:
1st Corinthians 16:19-20 (KJV-reads as thus)
'What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.'
Before we were born, God knew us and He knew all about us, and was fully aware of what we would do in our earthly pilgrimage.
He knows us now and He loves us and has offered us mercy in spite of all of our sins.
All He asks is for us to repent, confess our sins, and seek His forgiveness.
Did God Have to forgive us?
Was he required to redeem us?
NO!, But He loved us from before the foundation of the world.
When He saved us, He gave us a hope and a peace that can never be destroyed.
Paul gives us a view of that hope in the book of:
Romans 5:1 'Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:'
Know someone who needs redemption, assurance, peace and joy?
Pray for that person and then, along with another soldier of the cross, share God's love and saving grace with that someone.
You will both recieve blessings and the angels will sing songs of praise to God.
