Hello to all and greetings in the name of Jesus.
I have been in my spare time reading a book by Gary Inrig. In his book "Parables" it deals with understanding the teachings of Jesus. In one place, Inrig quotes A.W.Tozer, preacher, teacher, writer and Bible Scholar.
Tozer made the statement, in one of his studies, that, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us". Think about it for a moment if you will. What comes to your mind when you think about God? Some people think of God as some abstract being who looks down on us from time to time, and listens to our list of wants and desires, and complaints and then leaves us to our own devices.
Of course, nothing could be farther from the truth. When we read the Bible, we should know that God created us out of love and because He wants to be a part of our daily lives. He wants to be our heavenly father and He wants us to be His children and heirs.
Let me turn your attention to Genesis 1:26, and focus on what God did in creating man. Gen. 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. *Notice this.* God did not SPEAK man into being. God, literally, took personal charge in MAKING the first man to live on planet earth. God said, "LET US MAKE MAN, IN OUR IMAGE AND AFTER OUR LIKENESS".
God created the first man, and set in motion a chain of events that brought you and I into being. God created us to have DOMINION over all all of the other creatures on earth. God formed us as TRIUNE creatures with BODY, MIND, and SOUL of SPIRIT. How is this anything like God, who is FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT?
God, is the Mind that rules the universe. Jesus, the only Son of God is the flesh or body that is able to know what makes us tick. The Holy Spirit, of course, is the spirit that makes everything move. Look at Genesis 1:2, THIS IS IMPORTANT. Gen 1:2 "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." This is just a sample of how we should see God in our mind's eye and why we should look to Him as a personal friend and heavenly father.
GOD IS INTERESTED IN US. SHOULD WE NOT BE MORE INTERESTED IN HIM?
We were created by God's own hands, to have dominion over the earth. We were called to be just and faithful stewards and keep this planet a beautiful and pristine place in which to dwell. Adam and Eve let sin cause them to fail at that task.
You and I still have the opportunity to overcome the tempter, and have authority and dominion over the earth.
Are we up to the task?
Do we think of God as our Father and our King? Are we able to bring honor and glory to His name?
May God bless you all and have His perfect will and way in your lives. Your brother in Christ, T.S.K. - Sir Aaron D. III

I totally agree. I see him as the "I am", I see him not only as a father and king, but as my friend, councler, and guide. I see him in my pets, I see him in nature, I see him in the stars, I see him in his creation and works. =)
But (this is slightly off topic) I always wondered who is this "us" or "our" he is talking about? I guess maybe it was just the way man wrote it down, or maybe he was talking to the future us or something...but I never got a straight answer...maybe he's also an alien. Not to sure of what this "OUR image' thing is. Maybe I just think into to much. Someone mind educating me? lol.

A very good question to ask about the Holy Trinity. God is a triune being-three persons in one actually, and in the passage where it states in Genisis 1:26"Let us", God was speaking to Himself as a triune being which translates into laymens terms as: God the Father = The Head of everything. Jesus the Son = To being the body. The Holy Spirit = To the spirit that we all have with in us, for we all are 'Triune' beings as well, being the fact that we have a Head with a mind that controls our bodys and our thoughts and such. We have a Body that is whom we are "physically", and we all have a spirit or some would say a soul. So like God who is the Holy Trinity - 3 in 1 being, We are also a 3 in 1 being. (Yes, Jesus was in heaven with God as was the Holy Spirit that moved upon the face of the waters here on earth when God created all of the Heavens and earth, and then created mankind.)
I pray that this sheds some clarity on your question(s), Plus to also point out the fact that per what the WORD of God says, to which we are to try all things too His Word to see if it holds water or not, but according to the Word of God, There isn't any such things as extraterestral/alien beings. Though there are some scientologist that suggest or want to believe so much in the fact that the human race was put here by aliens. But put to the Word of God and it doesnt 'Hold water' so to speak.
God said it, and I believe it; The Holy Bible! ( 2 John 1:1-11 - perticularly 2 John 1:10, as well as John 16:13, and Isiah 42:16 is good as well - look them up when you have the time too. ) God's Spirit through His Word gives us wisdom to discern truth from error.
May God bless you and all of us with His wisdom and love. Your brother in Christ, T.S.K. Sir A.D.III

Question. Is it better to call God's three persons as the "Godhead?" Father, Son Holy Ghost. Not trying to play a word game here just a simple honest question.

Hamul Question. Is it better to call God's three persons as the "Godhead?" Father, Son Holy Ghost. Not trying to play a word game here just a simple honest question. Q~Where in his statement does he refer to God as godhead? He does refer to God as being like the head of everything created, since God is the author and the finisher and has know you and I long before we were ever even conceived and knows our lives and ways before we do. I think that you may have misunderstood his simply reference to God, being in the triune way like us being triune, as God being like 'the head of all things; being first, last and always, and much like a person with a head and a brain in it that guides the body to do things or to create things by telling the body what to do. As in the fact that God the Father, sent His only begotten son to become flesh to find that which was lost and to become the Lamb of God and a sacrifice for all of our sins. The body is a simplified reference of what Jesus was as a the Son of God, who put on the flesh of man; Hence the body reference. The soul reference of man is equal to The Holy Spirit because of the fact that we all have a spirit or a soul inside of us. I believe that our dear brother was just trying to simplify The Trinity concept to our new member and friend per her question. But why not send him a P/M asking what he meant, or what til he has time to answer this himself. Just trying to be as helpful as we can with out leading anyone down any unessasary rabbit trails. Thank you Miss Lyn for trying to clarify my thoughts for me. I think that it would have been easier for you to direct him to the piece that you wrote up on the 'Trinity' from Rabbi Gillmans - God squad coloum, I put it on the main forum page for you Miss Lyn and for you Mr. Hamul as well as other to read and see where Miss Lyn drew her thoughts upon mine. (Not to shabby a job for a penticostal girl Miss Lyn.- lol.) (me, I'm a Baptist. How about you Mr. Hamul? Or does it really matter as long as we all believe in Christ Jesus as our Risen Lord and Savior?)
May God continue to bless you all according to His works in us. Your brother in Christ, T.S.K.

I follow in Christ the best I can . I'd say I favor Baptist Doctrines out of most denominations. (My grandfather is a Pastor/Preacher at a 120 year old Baptist Church) Not that it means much but I was born lost and am currently reforming myself towards the Lord. smile Thanks again for the information, it really helps.

Aren't we all born lost? BTW, I looked up Miss Lyn's post on the Rabbi here in the guild main forum page. For a rabbi, he has a great insight on what most Christians have a hard time grasping. The Hawk. (BTW my home church will be celebrating it's 180th anniversary in April I believe it is. I will have to fly back home to take part in that service that day, plus, I too come from a line of pastors myself friend. - Hawk)
