Do you have 17 minutes to spare? While browsing my facebook feed, I came across a clip from Desiring God about Hospitality. To give you some context, The woman being interviewed went from being a college professor in a committed lesbian relationship, to a pastor's wife and mother of 4. But what the key (from what I've gathered) to her conversion (besides God drawing her and the prayers of believers), was the hospitality of Christians inviting her to their home, accepting her where she was. Listen to this audio clip and tell me your thoughts.

Before listening to the clip, I thought hospitality had to be something classy. After all, you usually don't invite people over and you didn't have something substantial, whether it was food, or several different types of entertainment (at least from my current life experience). Anything besides that was just hanging out. But this clip helped me see things differently.

Why are you trying to go down a rabbit trail as a friend of mine would say?

Didn't Jesus go into the homes of Gentiles and Tax Collectors?
Didn't Jesus accept all people that came to Him, and come to Him today?

Why should we be so concerned/ or rather be shy to share with others our ministry?
Which is our testimony of our lives after acceptting Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and not be hospitable with those around us and do the 'Great Commission' to which we were called to do and to do that which has happened to the women who was LOST and is now found/SAVED, and a pastors wife and a mother of four?

Why is the concept of sharing Jesus with others such a hard concept for most Christians to do?

Didn't Jesus say (and mind you this is paraphrasing) 'If you know not of me to others, I will not recognize you before my Father.'
(like I said it is a paraphrase because I do not have my Bible in front of me at the moment, but I know that the verse is in the Bible.)

Something to think about more than to think about 'rabbit trails/tracks.'

~Lyn~

Uhm, I wasn't saying at all that evangelism was a hard concept or something hard to do. I shared the link because I found the story interesting. I know Jesus went to people's houses and ministered to them. This is just an encouraging story of someone who was saved through a godly home's hospitality. It just opened my eyes on what people could do in addition to one on one witnessing, perhaps. Just thought I'd share.

This is a 'Rabbit Trail,' of sorts to get people off track of what they need to be doing to be honest. That is my opinion after watching it.
But it is an interesting way of evangelism no doubt about that. Thank you for sharing this.

Christians should be able to read and do the following:
Luke 12:8
Matthew 10:32
Romans 10:9
Rev. 3:5

May the Lord continue to bless you always and may you always trust in and stand on the Word of God.
