The Daily Planet
"Whenever a story happens, the planet gets it first and has it webbed and in print while the New York Times is still fishing for sources." - Clark Kent
Founded around 1861, the Daily Planet began life as The Daily Star, a newspaper in Cleveland, Ohio. Editor George Taylor grew the paper to be an international journalism powerhouse before relocating the paper's offices to Metropolis. That same year he left the Daily Planet and was replaced by Perry White, the Daily Planet's longest running editor to date. By the time of its Centennial Celebration, the Daily Planet had branch offices in London and Paris. The Daily Planet staff were considered to be some of the finest reporters in the business. In 1971, the Galaxy Broadcasting System bought The Daily Planet and folded the staff into it's TV News division, WGBS. Among the changes were, replacing the iconic globe atop the Daily Planet building with a TV tower, Morgan Edge replacing Perry White as the News Director, and moving Clark Kent to roving reporter. For Kent's new job he was given a 'mobile TV studio' truck equipped with cameras with telephoto lenses, remote pick-up microphones and live radar.

Man's World was stupid, and the laws that governed them were even worse. They feared men with guns, when above everything, they should have feared each other. Those who had power had the given right to rule over the weak, yet members of the weak somehow obtained power and the roles switched. No matter, his role would never switch and just to reaffirm what the humans should have seen as powerful, he would cause chaos. The chaos should also bring out the Prince of his People, which in turn would make it easier to capture and deliver him back to the island. If necessary, he would use as much force as needed in order to show the Prince the error of his ways. "This...Daily Planet, will serve as my message to Man's World. I will teach them the meaning of fear, and the destruction will not end until the Prince of the Amazons has been returned to his people." It did not take long for him to land directly on the top of the building, and as he landed, he put his hand onto the large globe a devious smirk formed on his face.
Was there a better way to cause utter chaos than by threatening everyone below with a ball that could kill them in but moments? Probably, but he was limited at the moment and would make due with what he could get his hands on. Taking a slight step backwards, he slammed his palm directly into the large globe, causing it to break free from its holding place before falling off of the Daily Planet building. Now, as the ball went crashing down towards the thousands of screaming civilians, he floated higher above the building so he could see what was t follow. Surely the Wariror Prince would come to protect the pathetic meat bags that he surrounded himself with. "Come, Prince of the Amazons!" shouted Romulus as he began waiting for either, the thousands of screams coming to and end, or the arrival of someone who possibly knew of Wonder Boy's location.

He had spent most of the time thinking on the dream itself, but when trying to remember exact details, he received something of a minor headache. Almost like when someone diagnosed as having amnesia tried hard to remember who they were. His moving through the streets led him near the Daily Planet, and as he stopped directly in front o the building, he could faintly hear the sounds of a male screaming from above. Some even pointed at the top of the building where the male resided, but from the ground he could not clearly make out who it was. When his feet left the ground to head up to the human in order to bring him down safely, something unexpected happened. The globe atop the Daily Planet was suddenly knocked off its stand and was now crashing down below.
Moving out of the way, he watched the large globe head faster and faster towards the ground, and immediately took action. Flying faster, Wonder Boy managed to get in front of the crashing globe. Putting his hands to it, he began to push forwards, but its weight, the speed it was falling, and gravity itself all worked against him. Thankfully, the humans below were now moving away from the area, so at least, no human would get hurt. Just when it seemed like he'd slowed it down, his body had slammed into the pavement below. A large fissure formed upon his hitting the ground, and as it did, he remained at the bottom of the large globe, momentarily stunned. This was really not his day, and when he got out, he'd make whoever did this pay dearly.

Everything rides on Hope now. Anya willed her ring to take her towards the falling globe, faster than she really wanted to. She hated to fly but she always did what was necessary. She only hoped that she could reach the globe in time to stop it from crushing the civilians that were helpless as they tripped over each other.
She wanted to tell them to stay calm, but if there was anything to be calm about, she wouldn't be racing towards them. There were too many people in danger. The chaos among them only put them in more danger as gravity worked its magic on the globe.
Then, she caught a glimpse of someone else coming to the rescue and trying to stop the globe from crashing on the citizens.Luckily the globe missed a good portion of the citizens, but whoever had tried to stop it, was now underneath.
Putting a hero in a body bag was the last thing that Anya wanted to do. Quickly, she set to work trying to unbury the person while trying to keep the on lookers calm.
Ring! Cast a field around the debris! We need to get this thing off! Hang on, buddy!
A blue field wrapped around the larger debris and Anya struggled to lift the weight with her ring. Her eyes searched for the source of the global fall.
((Anya enters from Suicide Slum...Edited. I didn't see that the globe had fallen. The last three paragraphs were added...sorry guys!))

Dean ‘Aquaman’ Meriweather If it hadn’t been for his magnified hearing, Dean probably wouldn’t have noticed the screams from his position at Queensland Park. As he came closer to the Planet with each jump, the Atlantean was able to spot out the situation. A terrorizing superhuman engaging in a fight with two others. It wouldn’t be until Dean was about a couple hundred yards away that he could identify them. It was Wonderboy and the Blue Lantern that calmed down Ian. How timely for the King to meet them here, but the plans will have to wait. The villain though… Dean could not attach a name to. His costume hinted towards prestige and was laced with roman aspects. A demi-god? A man playing dress-up? Dean couldn’t be too sure.
The time to ponder identity, however, was not now. Debris was crashing down by the loads, and civilians were far from being speedsters. Dashing to the aid of the nearest group of civilians, Dean slammed the bottom of his trident on the ground, producing a barrier of water seemingly from ground up. Though the barrier would seem too weak to withstand, it was adequately sturdy. Coming into impact with it, the debris repelled off as Dean expected. Taking a quick glance, he could tell the civilians expected otherwise. Their outstretched arms to protect their faces indicated distrust. ”No faith in Aquaman, huh?” he muttered aloud, allowing the barrier to drop into a puddle. ”Run to safety…now!” Dean exclaimed as his attention turned to the source of the terror.
His sharp green eyes latched themselves on the villain above. Dean was angry at the man’s intent. He’d never understand why some prefer to exercise their power on civilians. Why harm innocents? Why hurt people they know they could beat? It was a cowardly gesture. ”Very pathetic,” the Atlantean scoffed.

He felt it. The one whose soul he was tied to was now in the area with him. Not only was he with him, but he was the one trying to stop his destruction! Oh, how the Gods favored him so. The day had merely gotten better, and as the Prince of the Amazons was crushed by the large globe, he himself went to find a nearby car as a blonde male summoned water to protect the bystanders in the area. Truth be told, he cared not for other mortals, for only his mission mattered. Taking a parked car by its rear, his hand crunched directly into its side before he took to the sky once more. A blue female with a ring had decided to show up as well in an attempt at helping the Prince of the Amazons. It looked as though she was struggling with lifting the globe, and to that he merely laughed. Did she believe that Wonder Boy could be stopped by just some man-made item? Never. Not even on his worst day.
"Damian! I have come to take you back!" exclaimed Romulus as he waved the car around in his hands as though it were nothing. Various thoughts crossed his mind on what he could do with the car, along with how he could turn it into a very effective weapon. "The world of Man is tainted, your message of peace falls on deaf ears, and these humans fear you! You, who just saved them from certain death!" In order for Man's World to atone for their numerous sins, he would have them all destroyed. His patron, Ares, undoubtedly shared his belief, and if he could start the fires of war and hatred, then he would gladly do so by any means. Then, as if it were time for him to speak again, he opened his mouth merely to exhale slowly. This action was followed by the car in his hand being launched towards the blue girl's location at breakneck speeds. Turning to the blonde male's location, flames leaked out of Romulus' mouth for a moment before a large stream of fire was exhaled at the blonde male. All those who decided to get in his way of reclaiming a family member were doomed to be destroyed. This, he swore.

Allies: Wonderboy, Blue Lantern Enemies: Wonderfanboy Saving: Downtown Metropolis
Hurling himself towards the Daily Planet with all his Willpower and the huge amounts of rage that Morgan had coaxed out of him; Ian ripped through the air like a rocket leaving nothing but a glimpse of a Green Energy trail in his wake. It was nice, finally being able to channel himself into something after all that had been built up inside him, the quick bursts of speed served as strange relievers of tension within his body. Every time he hit a new level of speed, the muscles in his body seemed less tensed and relaxed and his mind unclouded from the hate and the anger that was slowly consuming him.
It also didn't help that, honestly, Ian hated what he was becoming. No one else seemed to be seeing it but he felt it every time he got angry now. He felt a sick sense of happiness and his body relishing at the thought of letting someone just have it because they deserve it; there was something inside Ian that had changed. And that change may have not been for the better. It did make Ian think about himself though, had he really been holding everything in like that? Had he genuinely tried so hard to keep his composure that a small glimpse of Red Energy exposure was enough to bring out such a volatile reaction? The thought made him slow down slightly but it wasn't really any sort of hassle: He had arrived at the Daily Planet.
The first thing the Lantern noticed was shouting, he turned his attention to the blue clad soldier; Grecian by all accounts, or at least that was what his armour gave off to Ian whom had underwent a slight fascination with all things Ancient Greek one summer and he was strong too if all the evidence suggested everything. He'd managed to knock off the giant globe that had sat upon the Planet for years. It was no mean feat. Undeterred though, the green Lantern approached the yelling muscle head, realized whom else was there and the man's intent and then couldn't help but look puzzled at the predicament. "All this for one guy? Wow. Couldn't you just send him fan mail or something?" O.O.C ~

_________⇢xxWonder Boy█ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ _____________________Location: Outside the Daily Planet With: Romulus Feeling: Neutral The darkness of the ground around him was something of a bother, and while he could have remained in the ground pretending to remain dead, he could not risk what would happen to the civilians around him. Just then, a blue light wrapped around the object that had landed atop him, and by the looks of it, had begun to move the globe. Since he was receiving outside assistance, he would handle the rest, and with a heavy thrust, the globe lifted upwards before rolling over onto the ground besides the hole in which Wonder Boy now climbed out of. It took a moment to adjust to the bright light of the sun once more, but as he did, his eyes fell upon the warrior in the air. What was he doing here? Was the male before him an actual living being, or an illusion created by an enemy of the Gods to confuse him?
Then, the male called out to him, and claimed something about returning. Before he could speak on the male's words, a car was launched in the direction of the girl who had pulled the globe off of his body. With what seemed like a blur, Wonder Boy would have flown directly besides her before catching the car itself. Flipping it over, he put it gently on the ground before looking around. There were no other civilians in the area, courtesy of a blonde male, who upon closer inspection was the King of Atlantis. The one known as Green Lantern was the next to arrive, and while he had never personally met the male, he had heard of what was done thanks to his actions. He was the one credited with ending the Reign of Fear, and the death of the Yellow Lantern that had attacked him. Unfortunately, Wonder Boy cared not for personal achievement and would not praise the male for doing what any hero should have done in his situation. "Thank you my sister. The aid is appreciated."
Taking to the air he made his way towards Green Lantern before speaking. "I assure you Green Lantern...The fan mail you speak of would not be what you believed if he were to send it to me. The male before you is Romulus, a male who should have remained on the island..." His last words had trailed off slightly, and he wasn't sure if the Green Lantern had heard or not, but that was neither here nor there. The question that plagued his mind was who had sent him to Man's world and why? Putting his hand to the lasso equipped on his person, he pulled it from his waist before holding it out in Romulus' direction. "If you are here to take me back, then I will need to know your reasons..Tell me why." With that, the lasso was thrown forwards at Romulus, hoping to ensnare him. Those bound by his lasso were compelled into speaking the truth, and if there were some underhanded reason, then he would know. If it were some ploy by Ares to trap him on the island, then he would crush the male before him with no hesitation.

Darius soon appeared on the scene, of course the area was already being torn up by what seem to be...a Roman legionairre? Darius wasn't big on learning or school but he couldn't help but to learn every class he took his brain absorbed the information at a much faster rate than most people, and most of those things he retained. He looked at the male who was waving a car around and realized the people around him, a male that closely resembled Aquaman even had the trident down to a T, and a blue lantern....he was sure his grandfather had stated something about Blue Lanterns but that was one thing that had escaped him. Soon enough the shouting Roman began attacking throwing a car at the Blue lantern and spewing flames at the Aqua fellow. Darius rushed in front of the flames spinning quickly and shooting it back at the blue armor wearing legionnaire. Of course when he stopped he could see his best friend in the sky hovering, it seemed they had a different team this time around, but the outcome of course would be the same. "Yo! Nightlight, you ready to kick some butt?! Cause blue boy over there definitely looks to be asking for it." Darius would call up to his best friend with a cheeky smile. He wouldn't notice Wonder Boy for a while until a lasso went and wrapped itself around the most likely flame engulfed Roman. "Hoho! If it isn't the Prince of Women himself. I definitely have to take a lesson or two on courting from this guy. What's going on man!?" Darius would shout out in a mixture of joking and seriousness. Allies: Green Lantern, Blue Lantern, Aquaman, and Wonderboy || Enemies: Romulus || Thoughts: We're at war with the Romans now?!

"Don't you just love it when heroes gather all around to pummel one baddy with their "powerful" fists of justice?" Sarcasm rang out with glee as a figure approached the stand-in for Aquaman. The voice to his ears however would be a very familiar one. Red locks landed on some of the wrecked railings nearby as nails tapped on them slightly. "I mean could you really call the one in green above a hero? Very pathetic indeed." If Dean turned to see who was talking to him, he would not see a stranger, but someone who was from Atlantis; Cassandra. She stared up at him, her words ringing out to his ears as if they were piercing his very soul. "Don't mean to tell me you intend to let him get away for his crimes against us. He took out so many of us. I may have been seduced by treachery, but his actions is a declaration of war." If he glanced back towards her, he would find her missing as if she was never there. In fact, only Dean would have saw the former stand-in queen. Mesmer was nifty in that it could poison the mind through the voice, the eyes, and through touch and Dean was in high risk of two of those factors. It wasn't as if the magic had nothing to work against either. His words about things being pathetic was what would bring his rage out. Circe merely had a way of twisting the truth around in men in order to bring out the worst or best in them. There was no need for so many heroes to gather in one spot when it was obvious what the invitation was for: Damian Prince. If they wanted something to do, the goddess would give them more than they bargained for. There were to be no interruptions after all.
Leaving Dean to his magical induced rage towards the Green Lantern to manifest, Circe walked down the streets as they rumbled in chaos, seeing a particular person clad in red or rather a blur, as he rushed to stop the flames from harming those around him as well as make an effort to send them hurling back to the attacker."Tch...Oh darling, don't you know that playing with fire gets you burned?"She cooed as she mere rose her hands upward, her eyes beginning to glow a faint purple as she walked past the Speedster."Let's see if we can alter the wind some and put those flames to good use. Aeolus, be praised!" The last three words rang out as the fire aimed for Romulus shifted it's course. Instead, the flames were heading back towards the Flash and other civilians, but not in the same manner as before, the flames beginning to turn a shade of purple."Speed may be your strong suit, but against a true being of nature, it's useless." The fire began to turn into smoke and then into a dense mist as it made it's way down towards the panicking civilians and Darius. Circe merely chuckled as she walked towards it. He by all means could give chase, but in a matter of seconds, he was going to find that it wouldn't matter. Soon it would be like he was running around in a maze in effort of finding her. The women present would take the form of her and the men...well he was in for a rude surprise. Circe would like to see what the mist would do to him as well the longer he stayed in it. Would it drive him mad as he tried to find the mysterious attacker or would it turn him into one of the beasts soon to stalk the city?
Now that left the two resting high in the sky in hopes of intervening on Wonder Boy and his apparent estranged follower. Circe hid back a laugh. She merely rose her purple nails to her ears as the sound of screaming nearby intensified. It was met with numerous roars making her feel as giddy as a school girl. Would the two Lanterns come down with haste to see what was going on? Circe was hoping so. If not, there was Dean for the Green Lantern and she was certain the female would follow after him at the sign of danger. Either way, Damian would have his little moment with the other Thalarion."While I'm waiting, I suppose I could go see where good ol' Lex is...He's been a little late to the party for some time after all...She pouted.

Another person showed up, clad in a uniform similar to the blue girl with only the color and symbol being different. From the rubble of the globe, he had seen his Prince arise unharmed to which he mentally let out a breath of relief. Naturally, he had also saved the woman next to him, but he was soon moving towards him. When his hand touched the lasso at his hip, Romulus relaxed his muscles before waiting for what would come. Once the lasso was around him, he watched it glow before he felt compelled to speak the truth. "The World Of Man is unfit for you. You who do so much and yet get no thanks. Some of these mortals even go as far complaining about your works. It is out of love for you that I do what I do!"
Moments after his words, the flames he had released were headed back at him, and while he prepared to avoid it, something different happened. The flames were pushed off course by the wind and were sent shooting back towards the speedster who had attacked him. Not only were they charging at him, they had also changed color before dissipating into a dense mist. He had recognized the magic as that of Circe, and with a mental note of thanks to the Goddess, he turned his attention back to Damian. "Now then, you will return with me!" shouted Romulus as he put his hands on the lasso and pulled hard on it. Together, the two males were pulled high out of the mist towards the top of the Daily Planet.
Lifting his arms up, he released himself from the lasso's hold before swinging the lasso, and additionally Damian who was still attached, into the side of the news building. "The World of Man has made you soft brother!" Pulling hard on the lasso he let go before pulling his arm back. At the speed in which he had tugged, he just needed to wait before he could punch Wonder Boy back down into the ground. Hopefully, Wonder Boy would understand his actions, and willingly return to the island after his beating. He was the stronger of the two of them, and if needed, he would flex his strength and force Wonder Boy into returning.

Allies: Wonderboy, Blue Lantern Enemies: Wonderfanboy Saving: Downtown Metropolis, Wonderboy
Ian couldn't help but look towards Wonderboy as he spoke and raise an eyebrow. "Romulus?" He queried "As in Rome wasn't built in a day Romulus? Reemus' brother Romulus? Raised by a she-wolf Romulus?" It was at moments like these that Ian deeply regretted crossing the threshold into the world of super-heroism from being a normal person. After stepping through the curtain, you realized just how messed up the world was and what was more was that because he was the Green Lantern he realized that it wasn't just Earth. The whole Universe was a mess, filled with psychopaths and myths and legends that weren't quite myths and legends. In one way it was kind of sad because it took all the magic and mystery out of the world; on the other hand it was also quite a relief to think that one day everything would be explained to him.
Before being able to get his reply, the Prince of the Amazons was gone and not before too long getting his a** whooped. Ian folded his arms and watched as Romulus took it to Wonderboy without seeming to break a sweat. He listened to Romulus' ramblings too with quite the amount of intrigue. If this was all out of that sort of love than Amazons had a really weird way of showing love. Ian shook his head too at the fact that this guy could apparently breathe fire. How comes Wonderboy couldn't breathe fire or Wonderwoman? It was kind of lucky that he was being ignored whilst all this was happening. If he wasn't, Romulus would have flattened him by now. That was the problem with going too far into your thoughts though.
Wonderboy hitting the ground woke Green Lantern of of his daze and feeling the need to act, Ian jumped forward in front of Wonderboy and looked up towards Romulus defiantly. "Not to interrupt this lovers' tiff or anything but could you like stop? I mean, you're kinda tearing up the place." O.O.C ~

Dean ‘Aquaman’ Meriweather With the heat of battle becoming more intense, Dean prepped himself to aid his fellow heroes. He was ready to defend himself against the stream of flames but Darius’s intervention was more than adequate. It bought Dean enough time to concoct a plan against Romulus, but he was immediately blindsided by a familiar voice. A female voice rang through his head and tempted him to think over the real problem at hand. ”…He took so many of us…. His actions is a declaration of war…” Instantaneously, Dean turned to face the voice but found nothing in the resemblance of Cassandra. The King was baffled but at the same time feeling an overwhelming anguish.
So many of us. So many Atlanteans… Could the Lantern not have shown them mercy like Dean has shown mercy to humans? What excuse is it to not have control over your own hand? These questions plagued Dean over and over until his anguish soon turned into hate. Even though he was known as a fair and level headed leader, he felt far from it. He felt the sorrow hearts of Atlantean widows and children whom would not see their patriarch return that day. Dean felt sick with anger and the need to right the wrongs. ”Those warriors… they deserved better than that.” he hissed.
While the other heroes continued their brawl and discourse with Romulus, Dean took action. One by one, he cleaved the heads off of fire hydrants along the streets until several spewed water by the streams. Once finished, the King readied his trident. Raising it into the air, the streams of water collected themselves together, taking the form of a high pressure column of twisting water. Slashing the trident’s point diagonally, the drill-like water shot towards the Green Lantern defending Wonder Boy. Dean may not be as strong as Kryptonians, but he knew his power levels were incomparably higher than Earth’s humans or even Atlanteans. He felt no need to restrain either. ”LANTERN! Your quarrel is with me.” he announced fiercely.

Everything rides on Hope now. Anya was relieved when the globe was lifted, not by just her attempt but the one under it seemed strong enough. It seemed that he only need a little bit of help. Outside of the giant globe, everything seemed to be going to Hell in a basket. Cars were flying, flames were being thrown. People were still running... Some guy dressed in blue was talking about taking someone back. Back where? She wasn't sure. She really needed to brush up on the heroes and villans. Beyond just the average robber and gang member. She had two lives now, she needed to do her homework.
Wonder boy caught the oncoming car and gently placed it on the ground. Stunned, Anya wasn't quite sure what to do. It seemed that everyone wasn't quite on one side. She wanted to help, where she could but she couldn't tell where to start. This was beyond medical emergencies.
Someone who seemed to resemble Flash shouted. There was a lot of shouting. But the Flash's shout was enough to snap Anya out of her stunned state.
"Right..."
Anya whirled around when she heard water. Water wasn't exactly what she was thinking of. Then the water and the wielder of it was going after Ian who was trying to defend Wonder Boy.
She flew nearer to Ian and put up a barrier. "You really need to learn how to make friends," she told the Green Lantern.
((Sorry guys! Storm knocked our power out.))

In his holding, the Flash showed up and began to speak. However, he had ignored the back half of his words since he was merely joking and not taking anything seriously. He was a warrior born, and on the battlefield there was no time to laugh and make jokes. Then, he watched as the fire that should have hit Romulus was headed back at the Flash, which had caused him to turn back slightly before re-focusing on Romulus. A purple fog had also covered the area, with his Lasso of Truth's light illuminating the area around them. Then, the response came.
To say that he was a bit shocked would have been an understatement. His words were true, and while he would have liked to believe that his elder brother, the War God, had sent him, it seemed like this was Romulus' own doing. "Then it is true. He and I are connected, but I have no intention of returning..." Before he could respond, he felt the lasso tug hard, and with moments, he was being dragged towards Romulus, who was now prepared to hit him. Since his hand was still tangled within his lasso, he couldn't move his hand out from its tight grip correctly, and so when the punch was about to connect with his body, he pulled his arms up in front of him. The amount of force behind the blow was enough to send him slamming down into the ground below. If this was how it was to be then he would fight back against another son of his Father. Lifting himself back up from the ground, he looked up only to see the Green Lantern standing in front of him. Was he stupid? Did he wish to die?
No matter, for in the next few seconds, enough would happen for him to retaliate. Water was sent gushing at the Lantern by Atlantis' King, and as the Blue Lantern went to defend her Lantern companion, he moved as well. Stepping around the Lanterns with quick speed he put his fists together before flying directly at his sibling. If contact was made he would continue to punch upwards at the male causing them to slam directly through one of the window in the Daily Planet. Once again he would have to apologize to Superboy about crashing through a portion of a building, but hopefully he'd understand.
