Queensland Park

Queensland Park is one of the six boroughs of Metropolis and is primarily a suburban community consisting of single-family homes and brownstones. It is bordered by the West River to the north, and by the Atlantic Ocean on the east. The Eastern district is a neighborhood known as "Old City", and was established as a Dutch settlement in 1634 by explorer Paul De Vries. At the time, the settlement was known as De Vries Village but changed it's name to Elizabethtown in the 1700s during British occupation. At this time, Queensland Park grew into a thriving seaport community with a central railroad network branching out to the surrounding areas. During the Revolutionary War, an American patriot from North Bridge named Peter Vernon destroyed the British navy's access to New Troy, thus delaying their advance to the mainland. The Vernon Memorial Park was erected commemorating the event. After the war, Elizabethtown changed it's name to Old City.

Nathaniel Grant

"Burn like his power, Sinestro's Might"
User Image

Allegiance: Sinestro Corps
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: Ian Wickes, Green Lantern 2814, I found you at last.

To anyone in the park, he looked like he was sleeping. And to a certain extent, his physical body was sleeping. However, unknown to anyone that isn't part of the Lantern Corps, a yellow spectral figure descended upon the figure on the bus stop bench and merged with him. His eyes opened slowly, and a wicked smirk appeared on his face. That's right, this man was dangerous. Nathaniel Grant was his name, and he was a part of one of the most dangerous organizations known to the universe. An organization created to rule the universe through fear. Created by one of the Green Lantern's best members, who was accused of doing what he believed was necessary to bring peace to his sector of space. A man who swore vengeance against the Corps that he thought betrayed him. This man, a former Captain of the US Army turned construction worker, was a member of the Sinestro Corps.

The yellow ring that was on a leather cord around his neck, next to the chain of Army Dog Tags, gleamed with an evil light as he processed the information his Energy Twin gathered. Images of the past few days flooded his mind, and he looked to the location of the Aces of Clubs. He was sure he found the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814. He had been sure the moment after Sinestro sent him back here with his mission. It was a simple matter of locating the only Green Lantern so far on the planet Earth, working in a bar situated in the Suicide Slums, but the former Army man was not one to just bust into a place on a hunch. Which is what he considered the yellow ring's information to be. No, he scoped out the bar, took in every bit of information he could. How many bouncers were in the area, the time the bar opens and closes, how busy the place gets throughout the day, and especially, when his target came to work and when his shifts end. He did know that Ian was sometimes late for work, which Nathaniel chuckled.

Probably to save people like a good boy scout.

He also noticed that the kid wasn't very confident in himself. He could be easily rattled, or it could be a facade and he's far more courageous when he suited up. Which could mean trouble. But if his analysis of Ian's character is correct, then the kid is weak and easy to kill. Which leaves a burning question on his mind: why did the green ring, a color of willpower, choose a kid who was more consumed by fear? Was there hidden depth to Ian Wickes?

Whatever the reason, I cannot afford to go lightly against him. I'll have to strike hard, strike fast, and with maximum brutality. I'll make my final analysis of his character later. As for the woman named Eris, I have a hunch she is much more than she is letting on. I can possibly use her to further Sinestro's goals. And when I report that Ian Wickes is dead and Earth is ruled by fear, Sinestro will see that I am his greatest soldier. A human, who he despises as a race, has spread more fear than his entire Corps. But, one step at a time. First, Ian Wickes must be broken.

Nathaniel then stood up to his full height, 6'2" standing straight, with a physique that made other men envious or afraid of him (yet didn't make him look goofy), walked towards the surrounding treeline of the peaceful neighbor, his walk turning to a jog, which turned into a run as he untied the leather cord around his neck and put the ring on his left middle finger. As he faded into the trees, a yellow light shined from the darkness, then streaked up into the air, disappearing into the clouds.

Nightingale made her way into the park, already setting a perimeter up with her sonokinesis. Right now everything was quiet. Too quiet. The only sonar images she received were that of trees rustling in the wind. "Maybe the park is safer than I thought..." Taliana said to herself. She usually made quick dashes through the park but tonight she felt compelled to come here. Then again the news had alerted her of gang members making dealings here in the park, so maybe she be able to bust some of them. She heard a snap of a branch in her 3'o clock direction. She spun slightly on her heels, and was met by the sight of two men; one with a gun and the other with a bat.

"Your not supposed to be 'round here little birdy. This is our turf." The gunmen stated boldly to the heroine. The bat wielder snickered as he patted the weapon against his palm. "We're gonna teach you a lesson in how things work 'round Metropolis." The gunmen teased, readying his gun.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with guns? Be a good boy, and maybe I won't kill you." Nightingale stated fiercely. As soon as the words left her mouth, the gun fired. Nightingale moved quickly to the side, and dodged the bullet. She soon felt a weapon strike her across the back. "Agh!" Taliana aggressively grabbed the bat as it came down again and twisted it out of the gangster's grasp. A quick whip of the weapon knocked out several teeth and sent the gangster straight to sleep. His took at advantage of the distraction and fired again at Taliana. The siren flipped sideways to no avail. The bullet pierced through her leg, sending pain up it like wildfire. Taliana was not going to let a flesh wound keep her down. She reacted quickly and tossed a canary feather right into the shooter's gun just he was about to fire again. The gun exploded in his hand, knocking him on his back. Nightingale smirked as she let out a piercing scream like bat straight out of hell. The sound of her sonic shout ripped through the night, alarming nearby people. Taliana quickly leaped on top of the shooter and held a blade to his throat.

"Did you know this was the shirt you were gonna die in?!" Nightingale joked almost sadistically.

Nightingale slammed the knife into the crook's chest, enticing a piercing scream from him. Taliana smirked as the man cried on in agony. "Try not to die before the cops get here." The songbird teased as she heard the sirens of multiple police cars. Taliana playfully waved goodbye as she began to dash away. The next area on her list of vigilantism was the notorious suicide slums of Metropolis. What was eerie to her though was the sound of explosions coming from that direction. Either someone had beaten her to the punch or she was about to strike gold.

Raoul enjoyed taking walks in the park, he loved watching the animals roam about freely, and this was the only time he could ever listen to his own music in public; granted he had headphones. It was very rare these days when he could take these walks and not have to worry about his job as a dancer or when he had to go and search for the heroes to fight him. It was humorous in a way that the only reason he became a villian was to cross paths with the guy heroes. So he trailed on down the path.

" ...Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm not much of a man by the light of day, But by night I'm one hell of a lover. I'm just a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania." Sweet Tranvestite played again through the headphones as he now danced as he walked. He probably recieved a couple of stares from other, but he didn't care. He was enjoying himself too much. If only he enjoyed himself when he was a villian, but he had no friends, well, Dave and Steve were, are, his friends, but they don't know what he does outside of work. He wanted more friends, but he could never find men, who were okay with who he was, they never understood. And only a few women excepted the fact that he's gay, but none of them wanted to be his friends.

But he couldn't focus on that right, he was far too into "Sweet Transvestite' to want to stop and feel sad. So with that he continued to dance to the song he loved so much and within hours he was singing at the top of his lungs, " I'm just a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual, Tansylvania!" Nothing could ruin his mood tonight. Absouletly nothing.

Raoul continued trailing down the path dancing as he did and started to get bored with the walk. "I really want to destroy something here." Raoul thought to himself. "But then you're cover will be blown you Cumquat!" Raoul reasoned. "Well, it's not like anyone would really care. You know that you only became a villian to cross paths with those two heroes you saw fighting that one day. And why do you think they'd like you anyway?" Raoul degraded himself.

"I really need some more friends." He thought. "Here name was Lola. She was a show girl." Barry Manilow's Copacabana began to play after finally getting tired of hearing "Sweet Transvestite" repeatively.

"Screw it, I'm bored. I'll just go and freak some kids out, maybe some heroes will try to stop me. Hopelly they'll be men." Raoul sighed and began to walk out of the park.

Blaire Mc.Hollow - Lady Blood

"I will help the best I can. No evil will bring down Justice."

Allegiance: Justice League
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: "What is going on?"
Place: Queensland Park

Blaire glides from atop the nearby building. She landed in Queensland Park, in a shadow spot underneath the trees, changing back into her human form. She brushed her white hair with her delicate fingers, sighing deeply in confusion. Slowly her steps took her outside of the bushes and looked around. “How did I get here?”, she wondered, “Metropolis, but… I was in Gotham. What happened?” She stared up into the clouds and listened to the surrounding chatter of passengers and locals. The young woman sighed anew. The world felt torn and hollow. “This doesn’t feel right.”, she thought and started making her way towards the Old City, “Something is wrong. Very wrong.” But she couldn’t figure out what was amiss. Nervously she tapped her finger against her lips. Thinking and riddling with deep confusion, Blaire tried to make sense of all this. Unable to grasp any clear thought, the woman ruffled through her hair. She looked at her hand and felt the fear of what that thing in her might have done.

Was it responsible for this uneasiness that covers Metropolis? Did it do something to the world itself?

Blaire feared for her friends and comrades. Her steps quickened, like her heartbeat. An awful eerie shadow covered the city, it bothered her and her worries grew stronger. “Please be save, my friends.”

Unable to ease her mind, Blaire left the Park area towards the Old City. Her shop was close. Maybe she could phone to Zatana or to the Titans. Something felt amiss and she couldn't help but to worry. As soon as she left the Queensland Park towards the stret, there was this odd feeling scratching upon her chest. Was it that entity? It pushed against her heart and breathing became harder. Did it feel the change in the air, too? Blaire was unsure. She lifted her hand and called a cap to her side. She opened the door and hurried in. "To the Druid's Lawn, please.", she said uneasy. Just now sitting in the cap, she realized how exhausted and heavy her body actually felt. Was that transportation from Gotham back to Metropolis responsible for it? She sighed and prayed that her friends shall be save and sound.

The time of staying seated in the darkness, watching the world evolve with the times, has ended...

Irok appeared in a near remote part of the park, silently humming an old song while he held a bottle of mead in his left hand. 'It was really kind of them to let me have the bottle.' Irok thought to himself as he walked into the bigger section of the park, stopping and sitting at a bench as he looked through the bottle to view the drink as he continued his humming. He then looked around to check the time it was, seeing the sun peaking over the buildings on what he could guess was the east. 'Judging from the sun's location, I can best guess that I've been gone the entire day, which just goes to show what happens when you take a walk through nostalgic terrain after having a meal.'

The horns have been sounded, and I return to battle once again..

Daniel thumbed through the Daily planet while seated on a bench in Queensland park. Next to him was a fresh cup of black coffee and a backpack he'd bought the day before. He looked through the pages, not caring to truly read the stories from the last twenty-four hours in the city. He had a few minutes till he needed to leave.

Folding the paper, Daniel set it down and took one last gulp from his coffee before standing. Walking away, he threw the paper and cup into a trash bin and kept moving until he reached a nearby parking lot. His mind wandered for just a second to why his newest employer was paying him for this series of jobs, but as he settled down onto his Mk 40 Hawke, a customized motorcycle he'd modified himself from a 1937 Eagle N35, his mind went back to the mission.

Pulling a tan, full face helmet on, Daniel pushed the sleeve of his jacket back and swiped his finger across the LCD screen of his gauntlet. He quickly tapped a command to the device, simultaneously starting the bike's engine and activating the timer on the C12 plastique explosives in the backpack he'd left next to the park bench he'd recently vacated. Revving the throttle, Daniel sped away and weaved through several lanes of traffic before taking off down an alley.

Just a few moments after the mercenary disappeared, six pounds of experimental and highly dangerous explosive detonated. The resulting explosion would take out a good portion of the Queensland park and anybody standing therein. Homegrown terrorism was a major threat to the government, and whoever had hired Daniel Warren for the string of recent bombings had chosen the best man for the job. This would make for the third bombing in a week, and the Police department still had no idea of who to suspect.

Zoë was only in New York for a few months, she was checking in the sights and thinking whether or not to get a masters degree at Parsons or just stay in London and study at Central Saint Martins. But as for now, she's taking a vacation with her parents in New York.

Today, she was practicing flying at Queensland Park, flying from tree to tree. She probably looked like a human flying squirrel. She had her hoodie on and her red hair pony-tailed.

She prepared to jump to another tree a few feet across where she is when someone came by the area she was in. It was a young lad with a bottle and he was humming.

Zoë wasn't sure how thick the leaves on the tree are but she moved back a little. With her eyes still looking at the boy, who apparently decided that the bench near her tree was a prime spot to drink his liqueur (she thinks it's liqueur). She tried to climb down the other side but she misinterpreted the step and she slipped. She grabbed a branch but missed. And in shock, she accidentally used her power to lift herself, which she also messed up, causing her to fall.

"Oof!" she exclaimed as she was lying on her back on the grass, "Well that was absolutely idiotic."

Because of her fall, she forgot all about the boy she just saw.

The time of staying seated in the darkness, watching the world evolve with the times, has ended...

Irok continued his humming as he heard movement in the tree behind him before he heard a crash, soon followed by a shout which made him turn and see a girl laying on her back that wasn't there before, meaning she probably came from above, fortunately after he appeared since she seemed more aggrivated by whatever she was doing in the trees rather than in how he appeared out of nowhere.

He then tried to pick up the bag to find it rather heavier than most bags it's size would be, causing his gaze to change stern as he unzipped the bag, finding wiring and a clay-like substance that looked similar to how c-4 normally looked, yet it seemed rather different. 'Of all the gods forsaken crap I've gotten into.' Irok thought as he held his hand over it and away from the gaze of anyone who could see him, a beam of light appearing and covering the plastic explosive before it changed into needles slashing on the inside as Irok's eyes were covered with a virtual illusion of the inside of the light cocoon, cutting through various wires inside and bits off of it to get deeper in before he found the detonator, seeing the timer already starting before he cut it out of the substance and the light seal vanished revealing the item, making him pull it out and toss it as high into the air as he could before a small laser that remained of the light originally inside shot upward into the detonator, setting it off away from the anything around it. he then heard a crash, soon followed by a shout which made him turn and see a girl laying on her back that wasn't there before, meaning she probably came from above, fortunately after he appeared but during the detonator fiasco since she seemed more aggrivated by whatever she was doing in the trees rather than in how he appeared out of nowhere and took out the bomb. 'Thank you Odin, I'll be sure to pour some mead in your name as repayment.'

"Falling isn't idiotic, it's painful." Irok spoke towards the girl as he turned and walked back to his mead before picking it up, a smirk playing on his face as he marvelled at pieces of the detonator landing on the ground, turning to see the man long since gone. "What is idiotic is leaving something you plan on working on or doing without watching the result, you never know if it will work or not."

The horns have been sounded, and I return to battle once again..

Daniel had stopped just down the alley to wait for the explosion. However, when he heard nothing, the mercenary ripped the throttle of his bike and raced back around the park. He could not afford to have one of the bombings go awry.

Roaring down the road, Daniel spotted Irok holding the backpack that held the explosives he'd set. Frowning, the mercenary pulled over to the curb and swung off the motorcycle, bringing his PDW up to his shoulder.

Without any warning Daniel opened fired on Irok, unleashing a hail of subsonic ballistic rounds. He aimed for the chest, planning to either kill or injure the man who had interfered with his assignment.
