Ella sat at a table in the library, flipping through the pages of a newspaper. Seb was still a little young for books, but it was warm and pleasant as the chill set in. Even better, almost everyone who worked and patronized there had kids, and were a little more understanding of slightly misbehavior. She had been reading to her boy on the rug in the children's section, but he had gotten distracted by a bird outside the window. He sat now, palm against the glass, watching the animal sing. His guardian kept an eye on him and found no harm in letting him enjoy himself.
Seb was indeed watching the bird sing, delighted by the colors of its song, if it could be called a song. The sounds it made were bright and pleasing, and danced so much more wildly than some others! He sat, entranced, lips open, staring up at his feathered friend.

Willow came into the library with the intent on finding a book about sowing. She really wanted to get started on learning how to make stuffed toys. Once she had the hang of it then she'd take a class. For now she just wanted to know what she was getting herself into. On her way to the section she needed to be in she noticed a little boy staring out the window. Wondering what he was looking at she came up behind him. "What are you looking at," she asked as she knelt down to his level.

Sebastian noticed another soft noise, pleasant and barely clacking, and turned just as the sound reached his back. He smiled to see a girl not made of flesh and offered her a big smile.
"Biwd," he said in reply, turning once again out the window and pointing to the bird that still seemed to be blissfully unaware of his presence. Certainly she would enjoy the sounds too!

Willow sat down to the boy and watched the bird with him. "In the morning when everything is just starting its day birds sing the prettiest songs at our house."

Sebastian looked up to the girl and tilted his head. She was a little hard to understand, just a little bit, but he knew what morning were and what birds were, and what pretty songs were. He smiled appreciatively and turned back to the bird, pointing up but not directly at it.
"Puwpuh!"
Except it was rather brown, and not very purple in reality.

"That's brown. See the bird is slightly colored like me. And, I'm guessing since it is brown that is female." Willow smiled.
"Do you like other kinds of sounds?" She herself was big on textures and not sounds but she did like certain sounds.

Sebastian's brows furrowed. Not the bird, silly clacky girl! The sound! The girl seemed to have moved on, however, so the toddler's face relaxed and he thought a moment. He peered back up at the bird, and then to his new friend.
"Pinanno," he said, giving a resolute nod. "Th'ings"
It sounded more like a lisp than a general statement about "things."

"My mom plays the violin. We don't have anyone in the family who plays piano. But the piano does make some very pretty music."

Seb made little downward poking motions with his fingers, miming playing his own miniature piano, before he wiggled his fingers in the air. Yes, the man at the playhouse played piano very well, but what he really liked was his Mama's singing. The other girls were good too, of course, but that was his Mama.
"You th'ing?" he asked, clapping his hands together.
