Id like to share a few quotes, 2 from a movie called Kingdom of Heaven. One of my favorite films but I believe this particular quote hits the nail on the head, so to speak. Of course, it has multiple meanings and I love how it makes you really think.

' I put no stock in religion. By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. What god desires is here[points to head] and here[points to heart]and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not. '

' A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that. '

Heres a random quote that hits home I think, for those who dont believe in god or the devil.

' The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. '

Good movie, and good quotes from the movie.

1~But as for "being good daily", that will not get you into heaven.
2~As for standing before the Lord on judgement day by yourself, that is true.
YOU will have to answer for all that you did or didn't do on this earth in human form.
3~As for religion or someone being religious. You can go bowling every Tuesday night religiously.
You can drink tea at 10 and 3 every day religiously.
4~You can go fishing, hunting, w/e... and say to others that 'doing this is my religion.

As for your soul hun, and goin' to heaven or to hell, yeah. Thats your choice.
When God created us all He gave us 'The Power of FREE CHOICE'.
So as for where you will be when you leave this mortal shell, is left up to you by God.
But God did promise a redeemer from his choosen people of Israel, and the entire Old Testament talks about that.
The New Testament is when God fulfilled that promise by :
"God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son. that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16~17..

So, it really is YOUR CHOICE to either accept Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, and Redeemer of YOUR SOUL (Which really belongs to God to begin with, but thats for another discussion.); Or YOU, can reject Jesus and continue to live like heII and only think that good deeds or good works will get ya in to heaven when ya die.
But to be honest with ya hun, GOOD WORKS will not do it for ya. (Which is also another discussion to be had.)

The only way that you'll get into heaven is through accepting Jesus Christ as YOUR OWN PERSONAL ~Master, Lord, Savior and Redeemer of your heart, soul, mind and body and life and to become saved by grace, by faith, and by the blood of the lamb of God which is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Sorry to get all preachie with ya hun. But I have found out a long time ago that hollyweird likes to take pieces from out of The Holy Bible which is God's Word, and to tell one tenth of a piece of Scripture, and then take the liberties to fill the other 90% of it with pure garbage and trash to mislead any one who doesn't know the word of God; and it just urcks me.

May God watch over you and continue to guide and direct your path with His word and the Holy Spirit, and if your not saved by Christ Jesus, I also pray that you will seek out some one whom ya trust to show you the way down 'Romans Road' and to have the assurrance of salvation through Christ Jesus as soon as possible.

If ya ever want to talk about salvation or anything from the Bible hun, just p/m me or any one of us here on the staff of the guild or even contact a friend and sister in the Lord: Ms. 'Iamlostforever'. She can also help ya with any questions that ya might have as well if you would be more comfortable talkin' to her.

Christian Huggles hun,
~Lyn~

'The Kingdom of Heaven', I am glad that you brought this up.
Even more happier that my copy of 'The Radio Bible Class - Our Daily Bread' brought this very same subject up for todays devotional passage and story to share.

If I may, I would like to share with you all todays R.B.C. - O.D.B. For 12-04-2013; and to give us all some thing to think about.

*From The Radio Bible Class Ministries of Grand Rapids Mich. Todays Our Daily Bread for 12-04-2013.
"EUREKA STONE" Read: Matthew 13:44-50.
From Matthew 13:44 - "The kingdom off heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field."

In 1867 on a farm in South Africa, 15 - year old Erasmus Jacobs saw a stone glistening in the sun. The shining rock was eventually reported to a neighbor, who wanted to buy it from the family. Not knowing its value, Erasmus' mother told the neighbor, "You can keep the stone, if you want it."
Eventually, a mineralogist determined the stone to be a 21.25 carat diamond and worth a great sum. It became known as the 'Eureka Diamond.' (The Greek word eureka means "I found it!" ) Soon the fields near the Jacobs' farm soared in value. Underneath the land was one of the richest diamond deposits ever discovered.
Jesus said that the value of being part of God's kingdom is like treasure: "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field" (Matt 13:44.)
When we put our faith in Christ, a spiritual "eureka moment" arrives. God gives us forgiveness in His Son.
It is the greatest treasure that could ever be found.
Now all of life can begin to center on the value of becoming a joyous member of His eternal kingdom.
It's our joy to share that valuable discovery with others.
By Dennis Fisher of RBC-ODB
And from Doctor David or his son Dennis DeHaan - How we need a keen awareness Of the joys God wants to share! Priceless treasures found in Jesus ---- We are rich beyond compare!
RBC-ODB Word Of Encouragement - God's kingdom is a treasure meant to be shared.

For more of the R.B.C. - O.D.B.'s - please go to their website: www.rbc.org

I pray that this will be a help to someone who reads it.
I know that I always get a lot out of the R.B.C.'s - O.D.B.'s.

May God bless you and your's always!
Brother Aaron

^^^^^ what you say is true. I just thought id mention some quotes I liked from movies. Of course hollywood movies aren't the word of the lord God nor quotes from movies the word of God but I think the hidden points that sometimes the 'masses' see on film, are nevertheless interesting to think over. These quotes aren't scripture, sorry if you misunderstood my only intention in sharing these lol. All good.

Heres a nice quote from the bible though:

Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Hello! of course I cannot speak for Miss Lyn or on her behalf;
But from what I gather from you're post topic and her reply, was that she wanted people to see both sides of what they were reading here. As well as to make a Scriptural refferance to what was said to back her reply verses the simply put quote from the Jamie Foxx movie that you speak of.
You're brother in the Lord's Army!,

The Hudson Hawk

Jamie Foxx? huh.. he isn't even in that movie. The two quotes from 'Kingdom of Heaven' are from David Thewlis and Edward Norton respectively. I know what she intended, in my reply I was just making sure that folks didnt think I was saying those were words of God the father; which I didnt think was the implication anyway to begin with to be honest but its all good.

'What god desires is here[points to head] and here[points to heart]and what you decide to do every day, you will be a good man - or not. '

Quote:
Deuteronomy 11:18-19
King James Version (KJV)
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Quote:
Isaiah 11:4
King James Version (KJV)
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

Something to think about... lol
