Our story starts with the beginning.
The virus.
Or rather, the infection.
It started out local. Then it spread. Over towns, cities, suburbs and countrysides alike. The world slowly grew spots of them. The infected, as they were called. Among them, the survivors. Jumpy humans quick to shoot anything that even hinted it was infected.
There were the normal infected, cannon-fodder. One shot they went down. Not much for brains, but on the look out for yours.
Then there were the special infected. Mutations. Given special powers and, more times than not, drastic psychical change.
Let's meet them shall we?
-The Hunter-
Agile infected, faster on all fours than two. Closer to a feral beast than a zombie. Known to growl, snarl, snap, bark, yip, like a dog with rabies.
These special cases are known to leap around like rabbits, scaling rooftops, and pouncing on their prey to maul them to death with their frenzied claws and teeth. Silent until ready to attack.
Though not only hated by survivors... These beasts had the habit of stealing kills from other infected. Their favorite to steal from are the smokers.
More times than not, these nearly fearless zombies would wind up being attacked by the witch, almost all having some scars from her.
-The Smoker-
Probably the second most annoying special infected.
This zombie has growths growing out of it, where long tongues have been known to grow out of. Their mouths usually partially open due to their own tongue being their longest. Even worse, they could control their tongues like a snake, using them to whip out and catch their prey, dragging them either to themselves, other infected, or to hang them by the neck until death.
These don't bother being sneaky. Not when they can easily be detected by their green smoke and coughing.
-The Jockey-
Annoying special infected.
Small, quick, scurrying little zombies that almost always travel on all fours. They almost always never stop their high pitched hyena laugh.
These special infected delight in jumping on your head, leading you towards other infected to be killed. Their favorite to lead you towards is the witch.
-The Charger-
Second largest special infected.
A zombie with the body of a cartoon bodybuilder, usually with one arm with no muscle and the other huge with muscle.
These will run head first into prey, smashing into them, them pummeling them to death with their giant fist.
-The Tank-
(Not an option, decided to be too op)
A huge special infected. Wild and uncontrollable, deranged.
This zombie will stomp, punch, but it's favorite is to throw cars and huge boulders. They are very hard to kill as a bullet to the head does next to nothing.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
-The Witch-
The only docile until provoked infected.
She is located by her loud weeping from her ever present misery. Found on the floor, crouching, or walking with her head down and hands over her eyes.
This zombie has very long and very sharp claws for fingers, known to make short work of whatever startled them. Adding to her inescapable speed of course.
Harder to kill than the others, but much easier than the tank.
On very rare occasions a male exists. The male witch is much more disturbing, and bigger. He has the same clawed hands and habits, only has the claws on his feet as well and a rotten/melted open mouth exposing his entire set of teeth.
-The Boomer-
The fattest special infected, swelling with 'boomer bile' that attracts all other zombies nearby.
If killed it will explode and cover you in it's bile. Get too close and it will puke on you to attract the horde.
Slower, usually heard for it's almost bubbling sounding groan that's unmistakable.
-The Spitter-
A special infected with a melted mouth and jaw.
This zombie spits out 'spitter goo', which works like a highly corrosive acid.
Usually silent until spitting or preparing to spit.
All are deadly. All are quite terrifying.
Yet there as some who dare get close enough to use them. Like pets, they'd have them on leashes. Guard dogs against the others or warning bells if others draw close. If one knew how, these infected could be tamed. Trained. And even befriended.
The Necromancers.
Infected free and safe locations are known as safehouses. These are usually only possible to be entered by the infected if a charger or tank breaks down the door.
((Anything forgotten Ninja will explain.))
