◢ ⋮ Akane was once a typical japanese housewife that many sought during her time period. She could cook and clean, she reared children and led an everyday normal life. Well, she did until her husband was coming home less and less often. He claimed business in another city was stealing him away and that unfortunately, it would only become more frequent as his ventures expanded. Akane knew her husband spoke a half-truth, but never openly accused the man. She remained quiet for several years as her husband split his time between two families. It was until she openly stated that he was leaving her for the younger woman that Akane's years of built up anger and envy finally boiled over. Her husband took their children and left to live with his 'new' wife.
◢ ⋮ She had no means of travelling outside of walking and along the way she stumbled upon a decrepit and desecrated shrine as a storm rolled in. At the stroke of midnight she was met by a shrill scream directly above her. When Akane awoke the figure of a priestess hovered over her, or so she thought. The spirit seemed ready to kill her but Akane did not move instead she simply cursed the earth saying:"To die before getting my revenge is unfair! I want my revenge!" The spirit seemed to drawback at her outburst and even...sympathize. The being forced Akane to sleep by draining her of life essence and showed her a tale very similar to Akane's. It seemed the Priestess' heart had been stolen by a feudal lord only to be betrayed. When she began corrupting the holy magic she had been taught through rituals... her love struck her down. Akane and the vengeful spirit seemed to feed on each others negativity, and in a moment of desperation the two struck a deal. Akane would allow the spirit to possess her and use her to live a new life while she would see her ex-husband's entire lineage slaughtered over the ages in a manner most cruel. They would live and marry then when they had a child... the mother would die and then the father.
◢ ⋮ This was that pattern for nearly one hundred and something odd years as she progressed in her magic and skills of Aikido and strangulation. Her use of corrupted spirit magic to manipulate the fears of her opponents and then kill them rather personally with a blade or her own hands caught the eyes of many. Those who crossed her and lived told officers of her ever changing 'rainbow eyes' and the butterflies that signaled her arrival, the cops took to calling her the Iridescent Butterfly while others on the street who contacted her for vengeance of their own on others summoned her as the Monochrome Witch.
◢ ⋮ Unfortunately her curse on the Hirabayashi family line was cut a tad short when she was apprehended by the police. Her legend as the Monochrome Witch that has plagued the Hirabayashi family and his descendants wasn't enough to simply imprison her. No, it seemed a good way to get those who had been following her vicious murder and vengeance streak to watch Super Ethical Horror Theater 3000. So she was brought in and 'encouraged' to engage in the games.
▌ SIGNATURE WEAPONS × 〉 A Muramasa Blade , Aikido, a red ribbon, and tainted spirit magic. ▌ FIGHTING STYLE × 〉 Akane is well known for her habit of using magic to produce illusions [and bring some to life] to disorient her opponent or mentally harass them from a distance and move safely around the battlefield. Once she has had her fun torturing them psychologically with their fears and regrets [that she attempts to pry out using illusory spirit magic] or utilizing said magic to launch orbs or spikes of said tainted spirit magic [often exhausting or sickening to those hit by it]. She will attempt to kill them with her blade in most circumstances seeing as she was well versed in the weapon type in her first 'life' as she calls it prior to being deemed a horror. Once she embraced the darkness in her heart and delved further into 'cursed' spirit magics taught to her by the vengeful witch spirit possessing her, she also took the opportunity to learn advanced Aikido, just encase she was disarmed and her illusions failing her.

Opalescent Butterflies: Akane casts an illusion that warps light around her so she seems to disappear in a burst of butterflies that flutter away in an array of colors. It is during this burst that hundreds of butterflies seemed to flood the area and attack her intended enemies. Their array of colors produce a variety of effects [sensed by the psyche of the enemy but not physically present in the attack] red is fire that bursts over the enemies skin, orange is fear enhancement, yellow is electricity that shocks them to the core, green is sickening poison, blue is water or a sensation of drowning, indigo is a frigid cold sensation, and violet is the bitter purple so dark it is nearly black in color and seems to strangle the soul. As they collide with the enemy and distract their senses Akane strangles them to death with her bare hands and leaves a shred of ribbon tied to look like a butterfly around their neck overshadowing the reddish mark her hands left in a similar manner beneath.

×Severine is born to a succubus mother and human father. ×Her mother ultimately leaves and her father, embarrassed by the nature of his child, abandons her in the woods. ×Severine is adopted by the previous ringmaster of the Dark Carnival. ×She is taught to perform on the tight rope, tame beasts, and do a variety of other acts found [ironically in a circus despite the name] . ×Young Severine is introduced to horrors that curdle the blood of strong men and laughs at them. ×She befriends a young demoness in the Carnival named Marionette. ×Marionette introduce her to the ringblade, Alice in Wonderland, and explosives. ×The two become inseparable friends, even after Severine kills the Ringmaster and takes over. ×Marionette dies during a show. Severine loses her mind and the event kills the carnival. ×Severine murders any guests of the Dark Carnival as they leave using explosives and her Ringblade. ×She binds Marionettes soul within her hat in advertantly creating a pocket dimension that holds her friend and a few objects many think would not fit. ×The two move the Dark Carnival and attempt to rebuild only to fail. ×Severine is captured and brought into the Theatre, ironically, by her estranged father. ×She is thriving within so long as the spotlight is on her.

▌ FIGHTING STYLE × 〉While she is no mage, Severine is quite the entertainer. She takes pride in being able to cross a tightrope with ease and tame fearsome beasts. The girl can be found bending her body in nearly inhuman ways during combat while using her ringblade to make others do the same or slice them seven different ways. She is unpredictable in combat and this is only complimented by her passion for explosives and colorful flashes of light. It doesnt help she has a very minor demon rolling around the battlefield in tight situations creating a distraction either!

Attending the Carnival; "Welcome to the Dark Carnival, love. Lets hope you survive!" The words are terrifying to those familiar with them. Severine tips her hat as she speaks. Marionette pops out of her hat while landing flawlessly atop a giant ball. A feat thought to be impossible! It is except when a feeding is imminent. Marionette prances and rolls about atop her ball while juggling for a moment. It really is quite a sight to behold because Severine seems to inexplicably release the opponent just as Marionette 'accidentally' drops whatever she is juggling. The objects explode in bursts of sickly colors and blind the opponent while Severine chokes them with her sword to finish them off as Chimerion and Marionette continue the show like nothing is happening.
Kiss of Death; Severine gives in to her demon heritage and barrages her enemy with her ringblade, ultimately to knock them off balance and to the ground. As they fall she catches them and kisses them while lowering them the rest of the way to the ground. It would be sweet if she wasn't sucking the life out of them... literally.

Severine Larousse APPROVED Keeping in mind that the stuff in the weaknesses mean that if she gets "boo"s from the audience, or loses the spotlight, it needs to legitimately weaken her (morally, mentally, physically, however, but some real effect needs to be achieved).
I intend to portray her as a bit of a narcissist so it would totally have a negative effect HER show of all things was over shadowed or boo'ed at. rofl It'll be even more entertaining than the actual fight itself probably! Nothing like a good old fashioned kick to the ego!

Its fighting style is unpredictable and quite honestly, terrifying as the person is literally forced to kill themselves [so to speak]. If for some reason Sciophobia does not take on an enemies appearance, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, it will resort to its size and strength to critically wound enemies.
