The thread for Nightmare of Allure vs Riptide! The arena is clear for the entrance of the two Horrors scheduled to do combat. Both individuals will teleport into the arena for a one on one match under basic rules, with no stipulation added.

Nirha took only a brief moment to survey her surroundings before crossing her arms expectantly. As it was, she had already had little enough time to consider the implications of her match, but if nothing else she was going to have a chance at something akin to redemption for herself. With a quiet if slightly suggestive sigh, she struck a pose, one arm down at her side as she waited, quiet and simple, for her opponent to appear, a small smile stamped on her face.

At first, it didn't seem like anything changed in the arena as Nirha awaited her opponent--however, it soon became noticeable that a medium-sized puddle of water had somehow ended up on the floor on the opposite side of the arena from her. The water began to churn for a moment, and then up from the liquid rose a sihlouette that quickly revealed itself to be Bernard, standing there and looking quite...unexcited and unimpressive. His hands were in his pockets, and he generally appeared uncomfortable as he was standing there. Still, despite his own clear disinterest with the fight itself, his body still gave off its naturally disturbing aura, all due to his passive powers--and his voice still echoed in quite the unnerving fashion as he mumbled, probably not even loud enough for anyone to hear,
"Alright, let's get this over with..."

"My... my... my..." Nirha purred even at the sight of the man, a thin smirk creeping along her features. By comparison, she was quite happy to see such a figure, let alone have the opportunity to face him down. Still, at his posture, her smirk grew even thinner, almost impish in nature. "Oh dear, where's your spirit, sweetheart?" She called back, her wings flaring for a moment as she braced herself low, ready to spring into the air at a moment's notice; she had been bested once by reeling speed, and had no intentions of being caught off her guard again.

A scene played out in her mind; one that reflected an implicit victory over this seemingly-broken inmate, and one that as her eyes narrowed wistfully, she had every desire to achieve. A brief moment later, an inexplicable chill swept across the battlefield of the arena, reaching drastically-low temperatures at entirely bizarre speeds. At this, Nirha straightened; after all, in the wake of so much cold, what heat remained was largely moved nearer to herself.

She was going to have fun with this. After her miserable performance the time before, she had to make this count, at the very least.

Bernard observed Nirha for a moment, stepping forward somewhat, the remaining water on the floor siphoning up into his form as he moved forward a few steps. He could feel the chill that was beginning to come over the arena--this wasn't going to be fun, he could already tell. As she spoke to him, he called back to her, his hands still in his pockets,
"Spirit? What, for something like this? I don't get how anyone gets so hyped up over this...it's stupid..." He took in a deep breath, stopping where he was and waiting for Nirha to make a move. He wasn't the type to start a fight off, usually--more the type to react. "I might not be excited about this...but don't think that that means I'm just going to lay down and give up...I've got a sad little reputation to hold up here, after all..."

Nirha merely smiled, her wings shifting slightly as she began to reach out telepathically. If it was the only thing she needed, it was simply for him to give in, but that was going to take time. "There are alternatives to fighting, you know." She offered, her sultry voice almost a mockery of itself. "We don't have to play along with this cruel little charade. I know another way.." She offered, giving a flourish of her arm as if to indicate the very space around them as something they could avoid.

And yet still the space around them grew colder, and - if she had her way - a growing sense of despair would be well on its way besides.

Bernard raised his exposed eyebrow slightly as Nirha spoke again, and he let out a little chuckle--then a bit more of a slightly spirited laugh, showing more emotion than he had thus far.
"I think I've got a good idea of what you're thinking, and, well, if I'm right--sorry, not interested. At all. You're barking up the wrong tree here." He felt the temperature continue to drop--and could tell that that wasn't just some shoddy AC going haywire. It was something that Nirha was doing. He was beginning to see here that she was definitely doing something--and if this temperature continued to drop, he was going to have issues using his own powers. He let out a loud, exasperated sigh--clearly still not very into it, but having realized that he had to make a move. Any despondency that came with the chill didn't seem to phase Bernard too much--seeing as how he was always feeling on the melancholy side.
Slowly, from his feet, extended two streams of water that slowly snaked out towards Nirha, as if gauging their distance, before suddenly shooting out in two pressurized streams towards the woman--Bernard, for once, was actually taking the initiative, because he was beginning to realize that being stagnant here would lead to his downfall.
"Let's make this quick--I've got better things to be doing."

Nirha chuckled; negligence on insinuation was one thing, but it was entirely thrilling to see someone suspect her. Her eyes flared for a moment in excitement, and as the streams of water so much as slid across the floor, she took flight, twisting at an obscene angle as she slid under the needling streams of water - but not without sliding a finger against the stream itself, as if to test the waters rather literally. "Assuming a little much, aren't we?" She remarked, pumping her wings once to get beyond immediate reach, the cold throughout still growing more frigid yet. "But there is a way out - one that will both ensure your departure and spit on everything this place is." She chuckled, raising one finger scoldingly.

"But as long as you intend on standing and fighting instead, you'll simply be letting the puppeteers win." She warned, tilting her finger side to side. "They cannot force me to kill you, nor you me, so why give them the satisfaction?"

Bernard narrowed his eyes as Nirha avoided the stream of water, stroking at the water with a few of her fingers--it was clear that she felt like she was in total control here, and based upon her words, he was pretty sure that she was trying to manipulate him somehow. And with that continuingly dropping temperature...he really wasn't sure what to make of that. He didn't really watch anyone else's matches, so he didn't really know anyone else's powers--putting him at a bit of a disadvantage here, since he didn't know what to expect. He felt some sort of strange panic burgeoning deep within him, when usually he'd just brush this off and try to wing it...something was definitely wrong. He felt a chill run through him and realized that if he didn't act now, he was going to end up standing here like an idiot until she did something to finish him off--though he wasn't sure what.
"What, and give you the satisfaction of me listening to what you say? I might be a pretty passive guy, but I'm not that stupid...!" It was as if some new life had been breathed into him as he spoke, his voice rising slightly once again--if there was one thing that he disliked, it was feeling like other people were manipulating him. In a way, that had been why he'd been so unenthusiastic about his matches--but now, having listened to Nirha's words, it was clear to him that she was up to something--and he had to make her stop before he ended up being made a fool of.
He lowered himself slightly, the lower half of his body dissolving into sloshing waves, feeling the chill in the air rush through the water--this wouldn't stay liquid for long, he realized, if this cold persisted. So long as he kept it moving, though, he'd at least be able to keep it somewhat liquid, but still...
He let the rest of himself dissolve into the liquid, the water rushing up into the air in three separate arcs, converging on Nirha from different directions in forceful pressurized spurts. He kind of wanted to say something effective here--but instead, his disembodied voice came out with a somewhat meek,
"J-Just get off it already--!"

The moment the water spouts converged on Nirha a glow appeared in at the point of contact and the water hit SOMETHING. At that moment the water almost exploded away from Nirha and a figure landed perfectly on the ground and stood to full height with an ever confident smirk on his face "So Nirha, long time no see! It looked like you might need a little bit of help!" Robin stated as he eyed Bernard with a smirk as the crowds began to scream in excitement over the appearance of the Wendigo. Robin glanced over his shoulder slightly and looked at Nirha "I hope I didn't ruin some master plan that you had, if I did then oh well, I'm here anyway!" he stated flippantly as he gave Bernard very frightening and hungry look. So this was the fish boy? Oh boy, Robin could not wait to sink his teeth into the boy.

Nirha shrugged, on her way to spin away from the would-be evicerating water jets before Robin showed up very much out of nowhere, and all she could do was furrow her brow at the sudden appearance. Even through her frown, she recognized the implications, and a moment later she closed her eyes with a sigh. The temperature continued to drop, reaching a point of borderline lethargy-induction; furthermore, Robin's arrival had disrupted what of a plan she had, particularly since she knew how cruelly ignorant he had proven to be of her influence.

Still, even with conditions as they were, she gritted her teeth and shook her head. "We will have words, Robin." She hissed, touching down to the ground with a slight flourish. "And whether or not I need help is irrelevant; I have no intention of accepting it, so be a good boy and stand down for me, won't you?" She requested, her wings folding in behind her.

Of course, if he didn't - and she suspected as much - she no longer even had a place in the match; the moment her opponent's thoughts focused on the fight rather than the circumstances surrounding it, she knew first hand the only way it could go.

As the water streams burst near to Nirha, Bernard was almost certain he'd landed a hit--but, as he quickly realized, he hadn't. No, something was wrong here. Something was very wrong. The water all collected itself on the floor and congealed back into Bernard's usual form, looking at Robin utterly stunned. Just...what was this man doing in the arena? There was no way he could have gotten in...there match had been labeled as a 1 vs. 1, there was no way--this had to be an illusion or something, right? No...they were talking to each other, and disagreeing--that wouldn't make sense for any sort of illusion. This was real.
Bernard took a few deep breaths, doing what he could to steel up his expression. He didn't want to look quite so worried--even though he felt a cavernous hole growing in the pit of his stomach.

"O-Okay, what the hell is this?!" he demanded, trying to hide the waver in his voice, but clearly offput. He could feel goosebumps rising on his skin--the temperature just kept getting lower, and this had suddenly gotten a whole lot more overwhelming. The crowd was screaming so loud, he could barely even hear what the other two horrors were saying. He gritted his teeth, trying to think his way out of this. Now, not only did he have Nirha to deal with, but also this newcomer. He couldn't afford to stand by anymore--he had to fight. "...I'm not afraid of people who have to resort to cheating to get in a win...! Come and get me, if you think you can--!" heart pounding, Bernard barked these words out to the opposition, his voice boucning around his mask in a dull echo. He was all talk. He knew he was all talk. He hated using his powers--and here he was egging the enemy on. He began to feel lightheaded--he hadn't even been touched by the enemy yet other than the deflection of his attack and the cold, and here he already felt somewhat faint. He didn't want to admit fear--but he couldn't deny that the fear at the very least lurked about him as he did what he could to keep himself rooted to the ground in the face of this opposition. Hopefully, they would continue to disagree to allow him some opening...

Robin
Wendigo

Thoughts: 'How...Delicious...'
Mood: Excited
Health: Healthy
Form: Male

Robin threw his head back and barked with laughter before throwing a smirk at Nirha "Whether you intend on accepting my help or not is irrelevant to me, you're getting it anyway!" he stated before his gaze rested on Bernard once again. The Wendigo openly licked his lips at the thought of sinking his teeth into the younger man. Robin quickly began to walk forward at a slow pace, surprisingly not transforming into his true form. Instead he kept a slow pace, his eyes locked onto the younger man "Tell me young man, do you know what a Wendigo is?" he asked even though it was a rhetorical question "Well you see put simply we're spirits...that drive people to cannibalism in desperate times..." Robin gave the most wicked smirk as the distance between the two was closing fast "When Hikers are trapped in the mountains cold, alone, and hungry with no hope of rescue...that's when we begin to take hold..." by now Robin was only a few feet away from Bernard "At first we simply whisper suggestions into their ears, however we soon begin to twist their mind until they kill and devour the flesh of their fellow hiker, one whom they once called a friend..." by now as he spoke sharp fangs began to grow in his mouth as he continued to stride towards Bernard, now only a foot away "...And once they eat...they become ours...their minds...their bodies...everything..." Robin now stood directly in front of Bernard with the most evil smirk on his face "And do you know what we do once we take over?" he asked yet another rhetorical question as he placed his hands on his shoulders and leaned forward next to Bernard's uncovered ear "...We eat..." he whispered before he opened his jaw nice and wide and sunk his teeth into Bernard's shoulder, cutting right through the fabric and pulling a large chunk of flesh off his shoulder.

Robin quickly took several steps back, putting almost several feet between them as he picked some cloth from his mouth before quickly eating the flesh that he tore off. With Bernard's blood all over the lower half of his face he gave an almost crazed gaze at the young man as he licked his lips and fingers of the blood that was there
"You...you're so delicious...I want you...I want what's inside of you...please..one more bite..." he took one step forward as a crazed gaze rested on him "He..he..one more...I swear...I'll take a piece that isn't vital!" he said in an almost giddy tone as he held a bloody hand out towards Bernard as if inviting him to come closer. Despite the crazed attitude he had Robin's mind was surprisingly clear as a single thought crossed his mind 'I swear Nirha better get what I'm doing here...' he thought to himself as the crazed look remained with his hand extended.

Nirha blinked, but stood back even as the situation unfolded. Robin's manner caught her off-guard, however; he was taking quite the opposite approach from what she had been led to expect, and seemed to favor a more complimentary angle for the moment. On the bright side, it was liable to be effective, especially since he could at least pose a threat in the meantime. On the dim side, she was furious at the blatant denial of her opportunity to pull her own weight. With a sigh, she shifted her focus; she had forced enough cold about to render any further chill ineffectual. Instead, she focused on her telepathy, and slowly moved to circle about her adversary.

"I offered you an out." She hissed, her voice seeming to resonate through the air as though spoken through water. "You elected destruction. I have done nothing to harm you, and so you struggle to murder me. You claim to want away from this, and of all of us it was you who was the most destructive. Well..." She smirked, her voice shifting to her normal - for what definitions of 'normal' could apply to a constant purr. "Take some solace; you will understand fear before I am through with you."

Again, she focused on projecting a sense of despair through the battlefield. If she wasn't going to be allowed the chance to handle matters on her own, she was at least going to do something.

Reality is never as bad . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . as all of that insanity
that you've created inside your head

As Robin slowly began to come closer and closer to him, Bernard knew immediately that he had to move--but he was rooted in place. He couldn't bring himself to move. Was it the blistering cold filtering around the arena? Was it Nirha? Was it Robin, or his words, that only seemed to continue to increase Bernard's trepidation? He wasn't sure.
He wanted to answer--he wanted to say something to boost his own confidence, to somehow unbuckle his legs--but his throat filled with what felt like solid air, and he couldn't even choke out a word. This felt like his own fault--he'd wasted too much time in starting the fight. And as Robin placed his hands on his shoulders, Bernard could already guess what was coming at the sight of the fangs--he grit his teeth, finally sputtering out a few words,

"D-Don't you da--" Far too late--he'd actually tried to transform into water at the last moment, but hadn't moved quite fast enough--Robin tore off a chunk of flesh, blood blending with the frothing sea water that Bernard had half-managed to transform into, only solid from the waist up at this point as he doubled over, seeming almost in so much shock that he couldn't utter out much reaction to the pain in his shoulder other than a choked stream of air bursting out from his lungs. Slowly, he looked back up again, his one exposed eye wide and darting about in panic. Robin was gesturing towards him again--and in his sheer panic, Bernard's uninjured arm rapidly morphing into a bundle of tentacles that shot out towards Robin's arm, moving in an attempt to coil around the arm and throw the wendigo away with a renewed force fueled by, as much as Bernard hated to admit it, fear. "Don't touch me! Get away from me!" But then came Nirha--he'd forgotten about her in all of the shoulder-injury business. And as one might have expected, her voice bouncing around only seemed to make him panic further--the screaming crowd had become little more than background noise that made it harder for him to calm down. "Sh-Shut up! Just--just shut up--!" He hastily transformed himself fully into water, the liquid frothy and dyed red from the blood that still flowed from his shoulder--the body of water moved itself all the way over towards the wall of the arena, putting as much distance between himself and the other two horrors as he could. He turned back into his more solid form once he'd reached the wall, leaning against the wall and holding his injured arm with his uninjured one--although being careful not to aggravate the already searing wound more. This...wasn't going well. And as far as he could tell, it was going to continue to go very, very poorly. "s**t...!"
