sucker for handsome. fast to react when things get rough. can be naggy or too motherly. persuasive in a lot of ways. bad judge of character, trust first, ask later. helps out as much as she can. not afraid to get dirty flirty. likes to end an argument between others. but fuel them when she's the subject. enjoys fun and takes time to create happy moments. acts a little too much on emotion. tough as crabgrass, yet can cry a lot.
- ♛ slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Casey May has always been the little sharp shooter of Conrad, breaking boys hearts since the start of junior high but her Daddy was always her number one as a little one. Before the crazy eyes started to walk and ruin everything, it was always just her, him, and her older sister Riley. Though it was probably boy's work, it was up to Jeb's little gals to help him out around their farm. They had pigs, cows, even a pretty black stallion, but Jeb's other job was a veterinarian to the town. They were pretty far away from the town, and the bus would drop them off off after school, they would do homework, and then take care of the farm until dad got back and have dinner ready by six. That was life for awhile, church every Sunday, however, Casey started to pull away from that when she turned 16. All she wanted to do was know about boys, go on dates, enjoy her youth a bit. Casey enjoyed it a little too much, hanging out with the wrong crowd, all for the sake of fun. When she came home drunk one night giggling like a silly thing, her daddy had had the last of that. But you can't keep a good red head down! She had a fire in her, much like their mother. She would escape out of their farmhouse only to be brought back by cops the next morning. It wasn't until years followed by that Casey began to chill out the rebellion and find out what really mattered. Her family.
When Riley left for college to be a lawyer, it blew both of her and her father's minds. It was a real, honest to good school, and Riley had aced whatever test to get in there. This called for a celebration, but their father reacted differently. It turned into a huge argument and the dinner went cold and uneaten that night. Casey was now 18, and she was loosing a sister, yet she couldn't help but be proud that she was getting out of this town. It was a sad day when she left, but their dad had come around so he gave her his blessing as well as a check and a bible. "Never lose your way." That stuck with Casey, and the next year she graduated school with special honors, a shock to all, and applied to a vocational college nearby to be a nurse, waitressing to babysitting on the weekends. Though she knew her dad would be lonely, he was really too stubborn to stop. After school, she continued to be there for him, she'd finish class, help out with the farm, and stay up doing homework till eleven. She found her drive, finally.
Coming home one day, everything in her life turned upside down. She had to stay later for a very long test, and told her father sadly she wasn't going to be able to make dinner tonight or help. He said, of course, don't worry about it, good luck; he was more supportive and proud as ever, the cheeky old goat. Casey was so tired on her way home, she fell asleep at the wheel, the car thankfully only had one highway road to drive on in the middle of no where, so it wasn't a bad thing. Listening to the radio, there was odd interference, she blamed her dad's beat up old truck, but something worse was happening. She drifted to the side of the road and took a few z's.
When she woke up, it was pitch black outside and pumping herself up to finish the drive, she turned the radio back on, and a blarring took over the small den of the truck. There was sirens, someone talking in muffled tones. What the hell was going on? Turning it off, she was shaken as she took out her cellphone and tried to call her dad. A knock at her window made her jump out of her scrubs. A flashlight shined in her face and carefully rolling down the window, she was happy to see it was the sheriff. He told her to come, immediately, get off the road. Something was happening. Eventually following him, everyone in town was in front of the council hall building in the center of town. Getting out of her truck, she found her dad in his pajamas as ❛THE LEADER explained the situation and what their plan was. It was so hard to fathom, many panicked and fled town, some just laughed. Casey was just worried about her sister so far away, but eventually one showed up. It only took a month for worldwide pandemic to consume everywhere. When the tv's and broadcasts started to get shut down, people started believing, but true belief comes from seeing, ain't that right? It took everyone by surprise, it looked decayed and monstrous. It was shot down by the leader with one shot, everyone looked to them... Everyone's butts were in gear to get walls up immediately after that, before more came.
- ♛ every motive escalate, automotive incinerate
- FARM LIFE FOR ME → It's always been in her blood, and she's been raising, delivering baby animals, and mending to their utmost care since she was six. Now it is just easy as breathing, it takes a lot more to understand the animal and know when its sad or sick. Pigs and cows are for eating when they are ready, but don't touch my horse, you slimy piece of cud.
- NURSE (INTRAINING) → Before the storm came on Conrad, she had just taken her test to finish hopefully her schooling and get her licensing degree in nursing, but she never went back to check. Things were too hectic. Honestly, it frightens still to know if she passed or failed, but she will never know, just hope what she learned grows with experience. What better training than being in the middle of a zombie invasion, right?
- I AM A RUNNER → One thing she has always been good at is stamina, and when that is fueled by adrenaline, Casey can be gone in a blink. You have to be faster than a screaming pig that knows exactly where he's going. Even if she can run away, that is not always an option. She has been saved numerous times by the small group she goes out with for supply runs. She's getting better and being smarter, but she is still flawed and reckless.
- LEADERSHIP? → Don't let her sassy sweet posture fool you, she is just as frightened as the rest and would not count herself as someone that could take the upper hand in a grand scheme or have people listen to her. Public speeches normally made her queezy in high school, so why would she be able to lead a town? Or even a small group. No, Casey May is a dependent leech on the strong. Sad facts.
