BIO. . . Family: John Phillips(Father), Anna Phillips(Mother) History: John and Anna Phillips met each other just as any two people would meet in the small countryside, by word of mouth. One person told another a name, that name got spread around with some gossip, and an arrangement was set to see each other face to face. No more owls, siblings running back and forth from barn to home to silo in order to tell another person something. When the two met, it was instant friendship. They shared love for the groan of the tractors, the shimmer of fresh orange peels. One love they both shared was the love of children. And as they grew older, they made a promise to do so together, and made a promise to bring someone new into the world.
The old countryside doctor had something to say to that. The two of them would try, would pray, would consult person after person. The result was the same. It just wasn't meant to be. But on one of the hottest summers to come of the countryside, a 45 year old woman woke up to nausea and headaches every night until the day of church, when the pastor approached her and told her she had been blessed. That she carried the will of God with her. A week later, when Anna could take the headaches and nausea no more, she visited the doctor and was given news of her pregnancy. Given news of the risk, the improbability, the generousness. But months passed and she became glowing and vivacious, and the baby thrived.
He was a May baby, showered with flowers. Bright, verdant green eyes the color of the fields. Took after his mother. Olive skin, occasional freckles, chocolate hair. Got it from his father. At birth, he was given the silver cross necklace, to remind him he was a blessing. To remind him of his praise. So they named him Jude. He grew and ate like a horse, sprouting muscles to fit his broad shoulders and muscular physique. His compassionate and hardworking personality blossomed under his parents. At 15, he was practically taking care of the farm himself. His parents had grown old. They experienced pains in their joints. Begrudgingly, they agreed to let Jude take care of the heavy work while they took care of the animals and food. It was a good deal, and a humble life.
Jude continues his hard work every day, waking up at the crack of dawn with his parents, collecting some eggs for breakfast, exchanging some for grain from their neighbor to make pancakes or waffles - perhaps even fresh bread. Then, cares for the apple trees. Waters them, picks them. Same with the oranges, lemons, pears, cherries, apricots, and flowers. Then, to the Okra, Avocados, Arugula, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Celery, Tomatoes, Cabbage, Beets, Onions, Potatoes, and Spinach. Lastly were their modest herbs. He cared for the soil, fed the animals, let them graze and travel, and butchered them. His father took care of selling their humble collections for the occasional delicacy of chocolate, alcohol, sugar, junk food, and pop.
It was a good life. They knew their neighbors like part of the family, and everyone in the group was there in time of need.

GENERAL. . . Name: Cassidy Jones Nickname: Cas // Cassy // Jones Birthday: December 24th Age: 21 Race/Species: Human Sex/Gender: Female Sexual Preference Heterosexual
APPEARANCE. . . Eye Color: Chocolate Brown Skin Color: Fair Hair Color: Chocolate Brown Height: 5' 2'' Weight: 109 lbs Body Type: Small and slight. Not much in the way of muscle. Markings/Piercings: Not a calloused finger nor hair out of place. Other: Cassidy is very into appearances and her own fashion sense. She is also deathly afraid of thunderstorms.
BIO. . . Family: Meridith Jones[mother] // Nathaniel Jones[father] // Barbara "Babs" Harris[aunt-mom's side] // Susan Harris[grandmother] History: Meridith and Nathan Jones were always a very adventurous duo. They work long hours that carry into their home life in order to disappear for weeks at a time on some island vacation. Of course, their vacations never included Cassidy. First it was always that she was "too young to have any fun - this is adult stuff". Then it was that "we can't let you miss school for that long!" After that, it became "with that attitude of yours??" Cassidy was left home for stretches at a time, with her aunt to watch over her in her parent's stead. At first, it was fun. Mommy and daddy would go explore some South American ruins, or hike a foreign mountain. They would bring back toys and trinkets and treats that fascinated Cassy's young mind. Then, as she got older, it became less and less exciting. They would call from some resort in the tropics, or a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Cassidy would hm and ha at their "adventure" stories, and likely toss the easily breakable tourist items they would bring back for her. Her parents sensed the girl's frustration with their rarely being around.
When she became old enough to take care of herself while the couple was away, they began leaving her shopping money as a sort of incentive not to complain. At first, Cas felt hurt that they wanted her around on their trips so little. However, the more her friends explained that it was actually a good thing that she had so much freedom, the more the girl embraced the way her family was. Money without having to do chores or get a job? No curfew? What more could a teenage girl want? She would spend her afternoons going out to buy clothes or get food whenever she wanted. She bought band t-shirts and listened to old 80s records and funky techno music.
After graduating high school and moving on to Community College, Cassy began to delve more and more into social media, joining the world of the bloggers and tweeters and "do-it-yourself" tutorials. She wore sweaters and drank coffee and posted pictures of every moment of her life from her phone to the internet. She scowled at the less fortunate on the side of the road, commented under her breath with her friends about those outside of her circle, and spent hours lazing on warm beach sand with her best friend Megan.
Somewhere along the line, she even stopped caring that her birthday was celebrated as a Christmas crossover - only allowing for presents once a year. She often had what she wanted already, anyways. So it wasn't a big deal.
One day in March - one of the rare times that her parents were actually home for some amount of time - Cassidy's mother approached her. She was upset with the way the twenty-one year old had been acting; indifferent and rude and acting like she could have anything in the world. This particular instance had been a new laptop. A very expensive laptop. The girl had been quite off-put when her parents had rejected her request, and stormed off in a fit that resembled something a 5-year-old might throw in a toy store. They had come to the realization that they had created a problem in their daughter's behavior, and that she needed a wake-up call. They promptly explained this, and told her that they were sending her to stay with her aunt and grandmother in the countryside. Cassy was sure it was just an excuse to go out of town without having to fork over the cash when they left.
However, with much kicking and screaming, the girl was finally shipped off by train to the countryside, receiving a warm welcome from the aunt she had not seen since she became too old for a babysitter, and the grandmother that she could barely even remember.
