Hey D-Party!
It's time to plan our Xmas Party!
And you know what? It's Little D's first Xmas! We should do something special for her! Post your ideas for contests opr fun stuff to do and we will pick out the best ideas!
I'm thinking one art contest, one avatar contest and one writing contest of some kind? Try to think up some good ideas!

Here, I'll try to get this going...
Art contest idea:
- Depict Little D's first Christmas with Diedrich or;
- Depict what sort of presents they would give each other.
Avatar contest:
- D-Party ice skating ball - what will you wear to win the competition?
- Or 7 day holiday festival avatar contest (there's a different winner each day and a different theme)
Writing Contest:
- Ode to Little D song writing contest
What if we also did a winter hangout lodge area type thing with light role play? People can walk in and out the thread whenever idk...these are just random ideas that come to mind.

Hassli I think that would be very nice. Give people hot chocolates. Also, cookies, cake, pies, and other delicious foods! Remember when there were random events that would happen each day? Maybe have guests find Little D and Diedrich hiding in previous pages or posts.

what about another poem contest? like the haiku event we had earlier this year for the matsuri in japan! just an idea!!
I feel like the holidays are a great chance to channel creativity in as many ways possible

I like it when people write their own lyrics to Christmas carols--especially when they're funny. It's even better when people post audio files of them actually singing their new carol, too.

I would love a good flash fiction or even short story writing contest! Maybe like an adventure with Diedrich...idk I'd have to give prompts more thought so they'd be good. The idea overall though would be such a fun little challenge for prose writers such as myself.

With geese-a-laying? And swans-a-swimming? And maids-a-milking??!!
I don't know if this is an original thought to me or if it was planted in my mind during previous Christmases and has been done before. sweatdrop

I have an idea for a forum game, if you're up for that. Guess the present! Post a silhouette of an item in "gift wrap" and the first to quote and guess what it is wins.
As for writing contests...Little D's letters to Santa? Or write Diedrich's re-telling of The Night Before Christmas?

That would be cool. Could be! It could stick with the song lyrics or not. What about an avatar contest each day, with the themes being the gifts of each of the 12 days?
