The lights in the arena dim down as Ain't About the Money hits the PA.
Ahhhh, ahhhh
Ahhhh, ahhhh
blue and white lights begin to flash while a thin layer of smoke comes across the stage and down the ramp. Flames spring up along the set and the crowd begins to cheer
If you know like I know say
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (you know like I know say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power (say)
Ain't about the money, it's about the power
Finally the former World champion steps out into view and the cheers grow louder. There's a slight change in his attire. Instead of his usual vest, he's wearing a t-shirt with a dragon across it and the words Drakonian Empire across the top of it. Drako Damone looks out over the arena for several moments before starting to make his way down the ramp
Think about it, think about it
Ain't no need to think about it
Get that Money, keep that power
No they not the same thing
Money can be anybody
This somebody, that nobody
When it comes to power
Circle, super small and maintain
Money make em' do it cause of what you give to em'
Power make em' do it cause you told them to do it
Money make you fly, power never die, don't know why
Money can be lost, power never need an alibi
Blood thicker than the champagne
Power in my pride, power in my last name
"..ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the number one contender to the WWFG World Heavyweight championship, Drako Damone!!"
Drako stops at the end of the ramp and look around the arena for a few more moments before he turns and walks up the stairs and into the ring, moving to the center to stretch out right into his old pose. Pyro shoots off behind him, a nice flash to the past for him and he straightens up again
When I'm in your presence you can feel the power
Even if this company was built from powder
Girls, kissin, on the couch, women, in the, shower
Surround, myself with kings, you can keep the cowards
Everytime I reminisce, I'm reppin' different bitches
Blood is thicker than water but BS is the thickest
Let the chain round my neck tell my life story
Born into the money but would die for glory
Get ready for the takeover, that face, lip and makeover
That case, that I break open, that great fifth like Beethoven
If you, wanna get it poppin', I can be in the team
Thirty-four, in a, rocket cause Hakeem's the dream
(Get it? They don't get it)
The Soaring Dragon walks to the corner and steps up onto the second turnbuckle, covering his eyes to look out into the crowd of cheering fans.
Oooh, we're makin' moves
You're only doing what my power let you do
You see that money isn't everybody's thing
When it comes to power, can only be one king
Finally, Drako steps down and takes up a mic as his music finally cuts out.
"Now, it's been a minute since I've done any talking with a mic in my own hand in the middle of the ring, so tonight is as good a night as any to go ahead and address what's about to happen. Now, as the ring announcer so helpfully let everyone know, I am the number one contender to the World Heavyweight championship. At Survivor Series, Omen has to step in the ring and defend the title against the most dominant champion in history. But what does that mean to a guy like Omen?"
Drako begins to pace the ring.
"See, on paper, I'm at the disadvantage. He's big, he's powerful, he's been hospitalizing former world champions. He's dominating. Here I am, almost a year out from the last time I held the belt. Omen took out the guy that finally managed to beat me. I'd give kudos, but honestly, I'm not so impressed."
JR: Well, that's a bit surprising. But maybe the former champ sees something we don't.
King: Maybe Omen hit him too hard last show.
Drako leans on the ropes looking out towards the announcers. "Now, I heard that king. You're not exactly quiet over there. But it seems like you and everyone else need a little history refresher. Now, I could remind you of the list of names that I beat across the two times I was world champion. And because I'm me, I'll rattle off a few. Bad Boy, Salem Croft, Trent, Cartwright, Luca Leone, Cyrus Leone, Bison, Erynys Reich, and I took out Nuke Fusion. I was the main event on every show but the one I chose not to wrestle on. Last year at Unforgiven, I let my brother have his moment in the main event to do the last thing he'd left undone. I was here every show whether I was outnumber, had just been screwed over, had just done a ridiculous road trip in between shows or been back in the Den training. I did what real champions do. Keep that in mind because I'm coming back around to that point."
Drako focuses on JR and King again. "Do you two happen to remember years ago when Omen first came around? Do you remember his first shocking and major act here in the WWFG?"
JR: I do remember he had a run in with Drako's older brother.
King: Yeah, and it led to a no holds barred match at Wrestlemania.
Drako nods. "You got it partially right. What he actually did was he hung Jarel from his own Dragon symbol. The powers that be at the time didn't know if Jarel was going to make it to Wrestlemania. I daresay he finds that to be a source of pride. But after he hung my dear brother from the symbol, what happened? Anybody remember?"
JR: Weeks of bragging and bravado, I believe. Omen was convinced that he had truly slain the Dragon.
King: He came closer than most.
Drako smirks. "Yeah, he was riding high on that old saying of slaying the Dragon. But right before Wrestlemania, things took a turn. You see, he didn't get what he expected. The Dragon was not slain, but a message had to be sent. For the first time, we gave you a glimpse into family dynamics. My sister and I returned first, and that night was the first time I used the name, the Harbinger. That night, I was there to announce the return of the Dragon, that at Wrestlemania, Omen would get his chance to finally slay the Dragon. But I told him clearly that he didn't have what it took, and in truth, he didn't. At that Wrestlemania, Jarel lived up to his nickname, the Godfather of Hardcore. He beat Omen, he hooked him to that symbol and strung him up above the ring, and we didn't see him for years. Back then, I was the Harbinger of Destruction for my brother, but these past few years, that has been all for me. And at Survivor Series, I'm the Harbinger of the end of Omen's reign. And a third WWFG World Heavyweight championship reign for myself."
Drako pushes back from the ropes before he continues.
"Now, let's circle back to my point about what real champions do. See, I wrestled pretty much everyone, and I did it in different styles. I could do the ground game, the submission game. I took to the skies and sometimes, punching a guy in the face is all you need. I told people that I was the best wrestler in the world and went out to prove it every night. I was battle tested. Omen strikes me as a horrible test taker. Just like all those years ago when he came in and made a big moment for himself at my brother's experience, when he got to the big stage with the lights on bright, he failed. Not only did he fail, he went away for years. So let's get down to the truth, Omen."
Drako focuses his gaze on the camera this time.
"You are untested. When it comes to big stages, I excel. Wrestlemania main events, I've done those. Survivor Series against a big man, did that too. Rumbles, Money in the Bank, I've done all of that. I thrive on the spotlight. I excel at proving doubters wrong. I excel at wearing down and outwrestling anyone I'm against. That match you had with Avari, wasn't the real test. You had beat that man and battered him going into that match. But see, you may have jumped me once, but let's remember why you did it that way. Because when it came to going toe to toe back at Summerslam, you were the one that got knocked out of that ring. You were the one on the retreat. I may not be as big as you physically, but I'm the real test. I've been at this longer than you, I'm smarter than you, and I'm a better wrestler. So if you lumber your big a** into Survivor Series thinking that I'm like Bad Boy or Avari, you're going to be heavily disappointed. I'm going to recreate your Wrestlemania failure at Survivor Series. Because I know what you can do, I've seen you at your best. I saw what you did to Jarel years ago. I saw what happened to my old rival Bad Boy. Hell, I saved Avari from you. But as big and as bad as you think you are, Omen, you don't impress me. What's going to be impressive is me dropping you on your head and pinning you to take that title away."
Drako turns away from the camera and looks to the back.
"However, that's Survivor Series, and tonight is Cyber Sunday. Last week, I went around backstage looking for you and then Cartwright decided to make your life easy by booking us in a tag match turned handicap match. But tonight, we don't need a match, and you can leave the flunkies backstage. Why don't you come on down here and show me that you've actually learned from your past mistakes. Show me if you can actually finish the job, because all I've seen is your constant failure to keep anyone down. Well, anyone who knows what they're doing. So, champ, are you gonna come out for a little Survivor Series preview or stay back there and hide in the shadows of Cartwright's desk while you hope and pray I suddenly come down with acute pneumonia so you don't have to defend the gold at Surivor Series?"
