History: Daddy Barbonson was once known by human name of Barbonson Richards. He grew up in a large city to the Richards, a family said to be tied to organized crime. From a young age, had to hustle due to losing his father at a young age in a boating accident. He learned some underhanded skills to get by, pick pocketing tourists, and running small time hustles. As he grew older, he gained the trust of his cousin Kalvin who put him to work in the back of their family operated restaurant called Thick Meats for Your Eats which specialized in bbq. Later in life, he married a woman and moved and became a contractor for hire. It was then that he gained the attention of a high priestess, but it would be several years until he met her.
A year after his marriage, his wife gave birth to a daughter. Barbonson's work slowed down to stay closer to home. Alternatively, he would stick to regular work to make end's meet. His daughter, however, grew up learning his dark secrets. Certain people mysteriously disappeared from their lives. Years passed. Barbonson got the attention of a foreign witch who accused him of stealing someone's face. Her magic activated several times and pinpointed his location to a cult of worshipers out in the wilderness. This alerted a high priestess, who summoned Barbonson to commence a dark ritual which would leave the pickpocket forever changed.
Barbonson awoke in the wilderness naked and alone at dusk on the grounds of an old campsite he had formerly used several weeks ago. He found a strange marking on his body, but no memory of how he had arrived at camp. He remembered the witch, her strange ways, but nothing about where he had been since the late afternoon into night. It took a day's journey on foot to return to a hideout near the city. A burner phone hidden in a location was used to call for aid. While waiting, Barbonson heard something and turned to see a bear charged at him. Barbonson was terrified; he raised his arm in instinct to protect himself, yelling "no!" A beam of moonlight shot out of his hand, cool, but deadly. It struck the animal and it fell dead on the leaves of the autumn forest. That was the first time his powers ever activated.
One of Kalvin's boys picked him up with some clothes.
