Zabrina is the eldest child born to Arcturus and Brienne Adelgrief, both pureblood wizards and supporters of You-Know-Who. She had a relatively easy early life despite everything going on, and was gifted with two younger siblings, a brother named Maze, and a sister named Francine, twins. After the fall of the dark lord, her parents both claimed to have been under the effects of the Imperius curse and both avoided jail time. Brina had an early fascination with snakes and wished she'd been born a parcelmouth, even demanding her parents find her someone to teach her. Though that never happened, she did have several pet snakes in her room. She even accidentally summoned one on her tenth birthday, though this one was wildly poisonous and had to be banished. On her eleventh birthday, she received her Hogwarts letter.

xxxWhen Zabrina arrived at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Slytherin like both of her parents and was welcomed in as a legacy. She made a lot of friends, though she made it clear that she would step on any of them if they got in her way. Brina tried out of the Slytherin Quidditch team in her second year, though she was never very good at it and stayed on the reserve team until her departure from Hogwarts.
xxxStarting her third year, Zabrina declared that she wanted to be an Auror and took many electives to help her in that process. She excelled in most classes except Astronomy, since she didn't forsee that as ever coming in handy. When it came to her O.W.L. exams, she posted exceptional grades except in Astronomy. She continued on most of her classes into N.E.W.T. levels, excited for graduation. Despite being very attractive, Zabrina never wound up dating anyone even though she did share physical attraction to both boys and girls. She just viewed intimacy as something she didn't need in her life.
xxxDuring her seventh year winter break, her family took a trip to Hungary to study the ancient line of vampires there. This turned out to be their demise though. Despite being powerful dark wizards, the family was overrun by vampires. Both of her parents and her twin siblings were tortured to death in front of her and Zabrina was bitten by the chief vampire of the clan, Count Jakab Perneszy.

xxxZabrina did not return to Hogwarts and stayed with the clan as a new vampire. She struggled to control her blood lust and would often kill their vassals instead of merely drinking from them. However, her tactical mind did help Count Perneszy outwit many of his opponents. Her trouble controlling her blood lust earned her the nickname "the Red" from her elder clan mates. As she grew into her powers, Zabrina did manage to reign in her struggles, though she grew quite accustomed to the taste of blood.
xxxAfter years of fighting amongst themselves, the clans of Hungary rallied together against Count Perneszy's clan, which had grown to a significant number thanks to Zabrina's assistance. Count Jakab had come to trust her as a significant advisor. The war between the two alliances was drastic and it led to a major deficit of vampires in the Greater Hungary area. Though they were victorious, Count Perneszy's clan decided to leave Hungary and move to the United Kingdom.
xxxZabrina, returning to her home country after years of being a prisoner in another country, began to hatch her plan to take over. See, she had a plan to make vampires supreme over wizards, werewolves, even Muggles. She turned several vampires to help her, then in one bloody night, she slaughtered Count Perneszy and all his advisors minus herself. She proclaimed herself as the new Clan Leader, changing the name to the Nightborne Clan. Zabrina and her new lieutenants slowly began to build up the clan, being careful not to attract too much attention from the Ministry.
