EARLY CHILDHOOD The circumstances of Trixie's birth were complicated. Her mother, Gianna, was single and fairly young. She had no plans to become a mother at this point in her life, but one night while drinking she met a man who introduced himself as Lucien. There was something about him that immediately intrigued her. Before she knew it, they were spending the night together. It was there he revealed himself as a vampire. The night was amazing, but by the morning, he was gone. Gianna never saw him again. Only a few weeks later, she discovered she was pregnant. She was completely panicked, but then again, she always knew she wanted children, so she decided to keep the baby and build a life for the two of them. She began training to become a healer at St. Mungo's so she’d be able to provide for them. The pregnancy was difficult, but finally she gave birth to a baby girl who she named Trixie, after her grandmother.

Raising Trixie was no easy feat. Even as a baby she was attracted to the scent of blood, but Gianna wouldn’t let that complicate either of their lives. Working at St. Mungo's, she met Robert De Russo, a healer working in pediatrics. The two hit it off and it wasn't long before they were in a relationship. He wasn't put off by the fact she had a daughter, or even the fact that that daughter was part vampire. When Trixie was four, Gianna and Robert were married. Trixie quickly became attached to her new father and before long, Robert adopted Trixie. Around that same time, Gianna became pregnant again. Through the years, Gianna and Robert had three more children.

Trixie loved her siblings, but was often afraid she might hurt them. Sometimes her instincts were hard to control around blood, especially if it happened unexpectedly. Her father was always able to keep her and others mostly safe, but there were times she would injure herself while thrashing. When Trixie turned eleven, she received her Hogwarts letter. She was extremely excited to have a chance to learn magic, though she was equally terrified at the possibility of being alone and losing control without someone to stop.
