 The Birth of a Nation
Dearest Tara,
Four years ago (how the time does fly, no?) I promised to tell you why I left home. I promised that one day, it would no longer be painful. At last that time has come. I have no assuance that this letter will reach you safe, nor that it will reach you alive. I hope and pray to the Great I Am that it does reach you safe and sound.
The day before I left I was under the firm belief that our country was safe and perfect. We were the power house... the one to beat. Who would have thought that it would crash from the inside? History, alas, has a history of repeating itself, does it not? Did not constantinople fall because it's leaders did not trust his own people? Yes, history (and fate) are crule. May the God of Abraham, Isac, and Jacob forgive us for our arrogance!
But as I say, I knew nothing of this the day before I left. I knew nothing of the world outside my college educated mind. So when the morning paper announced the first shots fired in Washington, I cried for my nieveety. Again, God forgive me.
This was why I left, Tara. I left for the sake of my soul. I feld here, to Greece, hoping to find some meaning for the war. I know I left you worried, scared, and hopeless. I ask for forgivness, but expect none. Not from you. All I can offer is hope.
I trust you have heard of the uprising in England, of the man named V and of the Fifth of November. This man has given me the greatest of hope that our country will one day grow from its mistakes. I pray every day that we will learn and that the war will end. Tara, I know nothing of you at this moment, only that I love you more then words can express. One day I promise to return to you. Even if I do so in death. Forgive me, my love, my breath, my earth.

PLOT LINE
When the war started and her lover left, Tara Smith thought her life was over. To top things all off, she was pregant. Tara watched in horror as her beloved America plundged into war. Like Isreal, she had fully believed in her country, in Democracy... in America. After the VP died, Tara began to worry even more.
Nine Months into the war, she gave birth to a son named Isreal. A short while later, rumors started to spread about a masked man named V starting an uprising in Great Britan. Tara became inspired and began to plot with some of her friends to help the nation.
So, the Guild of Believers was born. Twenty members who still hoped and believed in the democratic process started working together for the greater good. Neither working for or against the government, the Guild began a long hard journy to stop the war. It's useless, Tara knows, and the only thing that keeps her going (besides her son) is a young girl named Ivey, her second in comand of the guild. Ivey talks little of her past, and all Tara really knows was that she was there on November the Fifth in London. What Tara doesn't know, is that Ivey is really Evey, looking to help America, as she believed V would have wanted.
