surprised I've been looking forward to watching this movie, Downfall, a German film. It's On Demand, but I've gotta get some feedback first, before my mom eats my face off.
It's rated R, apparently for violence and disturbing images, and if anyone out there has seen it, could you explain why/give an example? Thanks for any help you can give.

My German teacher saw it, and she really hates violence and gore, but she absolutely LOVED the movie. She said it's really intense though. But if you want to see an amazing movie, and violence doesn't faze you a bit, go for it! biggrin

Yeah...we just finished it in History. The movie is a MUST SEE. It's amazing and totally helps you understand the Nazis and the Nazi Youth.

I am german so I watched this movie in german and I must say that for german standards it is excellent (sadly it didn't win the Oscar for that it was nominated)
It was critisized over here in my country because "Downfall" shows Hitler as a human being (that he most obviously was) and not as an inhuman monster (that's what most kids are teached at school).
I am not a Neo Nazi, but I refuse to call someone to be inhuman just because he did cruel things. To commit crimes is human, and wars are a part of human history - so is (sadly) killing..
So if you ask me it's definatly worth a watch.

Heheh, sorry forgot to update any of this. I did end up watching the movie, and I loved it heart surprised .
I definately agree with Azurella, though. This is the only WW2-related movie that doesn't focus on the mistakes that Hitler made. I had a talk with my one friend (who I watched the movie with) about how I found myself feeling somewhat sympathetic for Hitler throughout the entire movie. I wasn't sure if that was something to feel good about or not xd .
