I'd say it's a tie between the Belgariad and the Mallorean. There are some times when I like the Mallorean better and vice versa. They're hillarious and I love the characters.

The Belgariad/Mallorean. The story and characters are just wonderful! The only that I don't like too much is when a problem arises and suddenly there's a solution (like when they're crossing the mountains into the Vale of Aldur in a snowstorm and Garion finds a cave, that part drives me crazy), the characters don't endure any innate discomfort other than being saddlesore.

That's a really, really, really difficult question. Hmm. I'm torn between the Belgariad, which is the most readable, and the Tamuli, which is much more developed.

I like the Belgariad/Malloreon books, though I must say that my favorite single volume was Polgara the Sorceress.

I love the Belgariad best. It's got some of the most entertaining characters in it, and the plot keeps you going. I like the Mallorean because you can see the next step in everyone's life, but I don't think it's as entertainign a series. Not that's it bad. It's great, just not Belgariad great biggrin

I do hate that, about the instant solutions, I mean. But that happens in so many books, and at least it's not as bad as Harry Potter. razz

Sileny I like the Belgariad/Malloreon books, though I must say that my favorite single volume was Polgara the Sorceress. Polgara the Sorceress is definitely my favorite. It has a smoother, more original feel than the rest of the books.

I love the whole line of Belgariad, Mallorean, Belgarath the Sorceror, and Polgara the Sorcerous. They all followed the same general characters and I loved that set-up. I actually wrote my final paper in British Lit comparing the Belgariad to Beowulf. Heh. I made an A+ (not trying to brag).
I also liked the Elenium a whole lot and I'm still hoping to read the Tamuli.
I gues what I'm trying to say is I don't have a favorite.

I rather enjoyed the Elenium and Tamuli books, and would have to say they are my favourite. But I loved the Belgariad just the same. All three series had likable characters and good story lines. heart
I've yet to read the Mallorean, though to do so I will have to read the Belgariad series again, its been so long (almost two years now)

As most others stated, my favourite had to be the Belgarian/Mallorean. They were the first Adult series I ever read, and I'm as attached to them as any child to a puppy. The characters were likeable, and it almost always gauruntee's me muttering to the characters out loud and people giving me odd looks. They're superb. I do agree with the disliking of instant solutions, but, like ringwraith10 said, quite a few other books do that.
