RP Log from May 14, 2006 (Newborn)

Gir flaps his tiny wings as he hops around amongst the tall grass. Fluttering close behind him is that pink, lazy eyed horsefly Piggy; whether or not the creature is actually watching its young ward is hard to tell. Regardless though it doesn't matter. At the moment that the green and black Gryph struggles to climb over a log, he's not really causing too much trouble. For once.

A gentle breeze rippled along the tall grasses. A grasshopper, quite disturbed by this, leaps out of nowhere to land atop a knot in the wood of that very log Gir attempted to climb. It heaves a sigh of relief, obviously not seeing the green and black creature, and flexes it's delicate wings.

Quite nearby, somebody is snoozing in the grass, all nice and snug..

His ears twitch and his eyes get caught by the sight of the grasshopper. They widen and he emits a very loud, "OOOOOOOOO!"

Whatever adventure he had begun to take is disregarded in favor of this insect. His tail wagging behind him, he flaps his wings again before leaping after it. It jumps away and he gives chase only to leap off the log and crash right on top of the snoozing baby.

Raphael had been hidden there on purpose, and one could easily notice that the nest of grass and earth he had been sleeping upon had been created by a much larger creature.

You'd think a screech or even a peep would have sounded from Raphael, but no, nothing. Infact, did Gir maybe.. kill it? Of course not, the chick wasn't dead, he was scrambling to get out from underneath the other.

Gir, giggling madly, scoots off, blinking as he watches the strangely silent little newborn Gryph wriggle away from him. His curiosity and attention are both now focused on this new thing and he goes after it. With his tail twitching, he leaps after him, landing on the ground in front of him. A forepaw reaches out to poke at his face.

Raphael doesn't get very far, as all he could do was wiggle about and inch away. Eyes still closed from birth, he shakily lifts his little head up, opens his mouth wide and attempts to gum at Gir's poking paw. How degrading! First he was rudely awakened from his nice nap, now this! If he could have whined he would have, but something was preventing sound from leaving his throat.
Gir blinks when the little creature starts to gum at his paw.

"Wooooooooow," he croons out with his wide eyes. He pulls the wet appendage away and puts it down, dragging it over the grass to dry it. "Silly little thing! HELLOOO!! Are you a squirrel?! Nonono! Not a squirrel! Ehehehe!"

He starts to jump up and down and then around the newborn Gryph. Ooh, wait, something new! The grasshopper! He goes after that!

Somebody get the Ritalin! Thankful that Gir isn't interested in him anymore, Raphael attempts to turn around and crawl back to his temporary nest in the tall grass that his mother had so lovingly made for him. Just.. four.. inches.. more.. Before long, he was too tired to wiggle another centimeter, and decided to just lay there on his belly. Owww, the ribs.. Was his spleen still intact?! What the heck does Gir eat?!

Gir wouldn't be interested in Raphael for a few more minutes. No. That time is spent chasing the grasshopper which he eventually catches and ultimately steps on. Gooey, yes... and he even wipes his face with the guts and legs of the bug, only laughing afterwards.

What to play with now? Ah! There it is again! The little baby! He turns around and gallops as best he can -- which is more like a very wobbly trot -- and only ends up tripping over himself, crashing head first into the dirt and eating it.

Raphael was still laying there, infact, he had fallen asleep. The little bit of dirt that fell on his back didn't even disturb him. Gir had conveniently landed nice and close to the chick's rear end. If Gir decided to lift his head, he'd get a nice face full of baby gas. Hehe, woops.

Oh, now that's wrong! He gags when it hits face, stumbling backwards, his face going a darker green. Raphael may have thought he won but truely, Gir comes out the victor. For in less than two seconds he projects up a mouthful of bile onto the little boy. Whatever Raph's been getting is not getting for his stomach! What a stench! Smells like rotten eggs!

Raphael, honestly wishes he'd never been born. His nap was disturbed, he was nearly crushed to death, poked in the face, and now he was covered in GAIA KNOWS WHAT! The chick gags involuntarily, tongue lolling out of his muzzle. He can't really do anything but lay there helplessly, tears streaming from the corners of his still closed, newborn eyes.

Gir didn't feel any better after vomitting. It was mostly grass, but mixed in were berries, leaves, twigs... naturally it wasn't the greatest sight. But at least it'd teach Raphael to flatulate in the face of other people. His ears hang and his lower lip quivers; his stomach is rather unsettled. Oh what he wouldn't give for his den mother to be there for him right now!

Raphael manages to keep his own vomit down somehow. He turns his head around toward Gir behind him, the lids of his eyes juuuuust starting to creep apart. The slivers, of unknown color, were glistening due to those depressing tears. Small brows pinch so verly slowly together, flashing Gir a rather evil look. Oh.. one day he'd make him pay for this; one day soon.

An Open RP thread I started on the main guild board which is ever continuing. Started 5/20/06 [ Infant ]

The river flowed gentler here. Bright ambers watched the little minnows swimming against the light current, facinated with their movement. So very tiny! A paw raised and was held steady above the surface of the water, casting a rather menacing shadow.

Three.. two.. one!

Said paw splashed down abruptly upon the little fishies, causing them to scatter wildly. Raphael flopped into the ankle deep water, hopping this way and that, attempting to pounce on his prey. Probably a silly sight for any spectator to see!

Lirit smirked sheepishly as he watched the younger Gryph prance about. While his motives weren't entirely clear, Lirit had a faint idea as to what the creature was trying to do. He himself had attempted a very similar feat when he was younger. Contrasingly, Lirit hadn't actually ever caught a minnow... But that was quite alright. As long as nobody saw him making a spectacle of himself, he didn't care. This oppurtunity, though, to mock, tease, (or perhaps if Lirit was in a good mood, help) the little Gryphon was just too much to resist.

Creeping up from behind the little thing, Lirit made his appearence. His flexed his newly grown wings against his back and raised his head superiorly, gazing down at the splashing Gryph.

"Having fun there?" he drawled- his voice monotone, not kind, though not cruel either.

Raphael hadn't expected anyone to be there, so when Lirit's voice sounded from behind him, it was quite a shock! He twisted around so fast that he ended up tripping over his own paws and ended up falling onto his side. Of course, he wouldn't lay there for long, it could have been some kind of enemy! He jolted up to his feet, bowed his head, and gave a rather menacing snarl for a little infant.

Of course, Lirit would probably find this all too comical: a muddy baby trying to scare him off! Not a sound was made, Raphael used his body to prove he was no push-over.

Lirit grinned. There was something unsettling about him. What kind of a guy his age chose to pick on a defenseless infant? Lirit was a bully. Well... He wasn't actually going to hurt the poor thing. But he'd sure as hell try and psych the infant out. But honestly- what kind of a decent creature even psyched out a poor infant? Lirit was a... progressing bully. Not quite there, but he was on his way.

With a cruel smirk, Lirit returned Raphael's defensive growl with a low, rumbling snarl of his own. His lips curled up lightly, and the gryphon flared out his impressive wings offensively, taking a single step foward. As a younger child, Lirit had been tall, awkward, and lanky. He'd undergone a growth spurt, however, which had let his bone and muscle grow into his previously skeletal-like frame.

Snorting lightly, Lirit 'put his wings away' and reclined into a comfortable sitting position, a safe distance still away from Raphael.
"I asked you a question," he drawled coolly, glaring absent mindedly at the infant. "Having fun? What exactly were you trying to do?"

Raphael stood his ground, that is, until Lirit started snarling at him. Yellow eyes widened in slight fright and he backed up a step or two, moving deeper into the water. Fret not, it's still only about knee deep to him! Collecting his nerves once again, Raphael narrows his gaze at the teen, shaking his head in a little snort. No response verbal response to the question asked. Maybe he was too young to be talking yet?
