I checked and didn't see this posted already. So I was wondering if there are any LGBTQ people like me in here! Feel free to write about feelings on orientation, experiences you've had with acceptance, all that jazz.

I'm straight, but I'd definitely like to make love to a woman.

*points to poll* I'm a confused teenager. Does that count as "questioning"?

Well, I don't think I'm gay or bi, but at least one of my friends keeps insisting so because I can answer hypothetical questions like, "If you were gay, what celebrity would you want to screw?" It's a bit annoying. Not that I couldn't be bisexual. Just not going to scream it to the world before I'm certain. ninja

I'm one o' them dudes that likes other dudes. xd People can be jackasses sometimes, but acceptance hasn't been a big deal for me, luckily. It really goes to show how much progress has been made in the past 15 years! People are not only more aware of sexuality issues and discrimination, but I feel that gender is being looked at more deeply, as well.

I am heterosexual, but I've always been irritated by the stereotype of gay women in society. Have any of you undergone any distress due to the stereotypical relations between lesbians and feminism?

I voted as lesbian.

I've been aware of my sexuality and preferences since I was very young - five or six.

I "came out" when I was 13 or 14. My dad is pretty conservative - and wasn't exactly "thrilled". Generally, my friends (at least my REAL friends) accepted me and weren't bothered by it.

I've had my fair share of bad experiences though due to my sexuality - a male "friend" (ugh I was wrong) trying to rape me because he thought it would "change" me, having people scream "******** dyke!" or "You're gonna burn in hell" in hallways at school or other public places, and a girl who really didn't even know me making a website with my picture and a little essay on how I "became a lez cuz she culdn't get guyz". stare

The stereotyping of lesbians annoys me. Especially the "...wait, you're a lesbian? You're too pretty to be a lesbian" or the assumptions people make that all gay women are gay due to their appearance / sexual abuse / shyness / other bullshit.

And with feminism too - how some women will say, "Oh, I'm a feminist but not a big man-hating hairy lesbian" or "I'm not a feminist but I believe in equal rights for women" as if a requirement for being a feminist is being gay, not shaving, and hating men - or the implication that not shaving or being gay is bad. stare

I am absolutely, 100% gay. I think my bad experiences with women only aided in my lack of interest in the female form-- even though I knew I was gay from way back.

It took me a while to figure out what I was, and I was in denial for even longer because of my religion-- but when I dropped my faith, I felt better about who I could be as a person. I had support. I had people telling me it was okay to be who I was.

And that's who I've been from that day on. Gay as all hell, and proud. heart

I'm a lesbian with three male exceptions. One of them is Johnny Depp, and I don't really know if he counts because everyone wants to bang him.

I indentify as a lesbian woman, but I've never made love or dated another woman.

People say that you must make love in order to actually be a lesbian, but I've never made love to a man and I know very well that they are not appealing to me in any sexual way.

Yeah I've noticed that. I bought a shirt that had the feminist fist on it and it says "girl power". My mom told me not to wear it to certain places because "they'll think you're a lesbian." A) so what? B) do I have to be gay to think women should have equal rights and be portrayed as something other than a sexual object?
