During the winter months I do not shave at all. During the hotter times of the year I do. I wish it was not neccessary, or if it had to be, why not make men do it as well? I know that they were hunters and needed the hair back five thousand years ago or whatnot but nowadays? They don't need the hair any more than we do, ladies. I wish I didn't feel the self-conscious urge to shave. So stupid. How do you all feel?

I don't shave if I don't feel like it. I'm usually in pants, anyway, unless the occasion calls for otherwise. However, I AM addicted to the silky feeling. I sit and stroke my legs all day after shaving. And since my boyfriend shaves his--everything, and all of my guy friends are on the swim team, I really don't feel that out of place with it, you know?
I've learned that it's really not just women who love to shave, and there has always been a standard on both sides to maintain body hair, so... shaving is one of the least of my feminist worries.

Hey, nice job on your boyfriend's end. That would be cool if my boyfriend shaved...

I had a teacher in highschool who was from Germany or someplace, and she didn't shave anywhere. The people in my class were always commenting about how "gross" she was.
I mean, if it's something cultural, isn't it sort of childish to be so offended at the idea? Our culture, our societal ideas of beauty aren't the only ones, and they aren't better than any other culture's.
I just find it sad that women are expected to shave. It's probably a huge bother, and for what? To look "clean"??

Why legs and armpits? And if I shaved my arms, I'd be thought of as a freak. I don't understand this concept.

I know girls who shave their arms, because they don't want to be "ugly". So...they want full hair on their head, but nowhere else?
Plus, guys are starting to expect girls to shave "down there". I was watching some talk show, Dr. Phil or Oprah or something, and this guy was complaining about how his wife had "let herself go". When asked to elaborate, he said "she doesn't get Brazilian waxes anymore." gonk

I shave when I feel like it. But I have a deal with my boy - if I have to shave, so does he. So he never really pushed the issue, but lately he has actually liked shaving his legs and such. It makes me laugh.

I shave my legs whenever I feel like it. So not very often because I usually wear pants, not skirts or shorts. I do shave my underarms pretty much everyday because I'm sort of OCD and it bothers me when I don't. Ciel Avec Cafeine I know girls who shave their arms, because they don't want to be "ugly". When asked to elaborate, he said "she doesn't get Brazilian waxes anymore." gonk If I were her, I would have told him to shave his parts and that if he didn't like it he should just learn to deal with it.

I shave my armpits and my legs (not as often in Winter as in Summer though), but I still think that it's perfectly fine if other people don't. What I do is the best for me, but it isn't necessarily what is best for others.

I only shave my legs and pits when I feel like it. When they grow to a certain point, they get itchy.
Bikers and swimmers shave.........thus they are manlier!

Sometimes I shave my legs / armpits - simply because I enjoy how smooth I feel afterwards. I refuse to shave off my pubes, that just weirds me out. I'll shave a little though to "neaten" it. xD

I'll shave my legs from time to time, but only my armpits regularly. I mainly do my armpits because I use natural deoderants, and they usually aren't too strong, so i need to keep the total surface area down.

I shave my arms pretty much year-round, mainly for comfort reasons. I shave my legs when it's time to wear capris and shorts because I look like a gorilla otherwise, and I like the silky-smooth feel of my legs when they're freshly shaved, but I'm lazy so sometimes wearing shorts gives me a little motivation. And I shave my bikini line because I get really self-conscious when those coarse, black hairs are poking out of my bathing suit.
I also don't like my hairy arms and "peach fuzz" so when those get out of hand, I just bleach.
I don't think women have to shave at all, and sometimes I contemplate not shaving, but in the end I do because I just want to. But if a woman doesn't want to, she shouldn't be made to feel like she has to.
