What's the highest amount of money you've spent on an Eddings book?
I usually buy my books used and get them for 25 cents or a dollar, but just yesterday I was in a neat little bookstore... but I was tricked into buying the 3rd volume of the Elenium for $10. Okay, okay, I wasn't really tricked into it. The lady who owned the store suddenly said that she was closing and I'd better give her the money and get out. eek So I just bought all the books I had in my hand and didn't really get a chance to decide if they were worth the prices or not. Oh well... at least I have that one now. smile

Most I've spent was $15 at a local used bookstore, but it was a hardback, first edition, British copy of The Diamond Throne. I had to borrow money from my mom to buy it since it wasn't something I expected to find in my area.

We have books here as low as 50 pesos (equivalent to 1 dollar) in many second-hand stores. Almost all are in good condition.
The most i've spent was equivalent to $ 8.50 gonk
The damn originals in the real bookstores are really a pain lol

Why buy them new at the big brand bookstore when you can find it elsewhere for so much cheaper? Granted, I do buy books I'm really, really anxious about at Barnes and Noble and stuff, but that's a slight exception.

My stepbrother gave me the first book in the Belgariad one christmas and told me it was one of his favorites way back when. But I was a bit too young to enjoy it so it sat on a shelf for about a year before I picked it up again and read it. I was so enchanted by it that I forgot that I lied to him about reading it a year before and went on and on about how much I loved it to him. At which point he just got up and went into his room, only to come out a moment later with a stack of about fourteen more books for me to read. ^^ After that he just bought me a new book every gift giving occasion. Lucky that I'm not enjoying the Dreamers series as much as the older ones or else I would be very impatient lol!

Books here are expencive. ^^;;
But I've been working in a bookstore ever since I was 16, so I've gotten my hands on some pretty sweet deals. I bought all of the hardback editions of "The Belgariad" for about $1,50 each [in my native tounge]. Then I had to buy the paperbacks in English, cause you just can't fully appreciate the writings of Eddings unless they're in English. xD They were bought for about $10 each I think. Price is included percentages. :/ So like regularly it would come to $20 per book or so. o_O;;
^^;; Told you.

There are like NO used bookstores in my area so I go to barnes and noble and get them there. They only have paperbacks so they're 7.50 a book. My mom had 4 or five of their books..... I read the middle 3 of the Belgariad on that program that someone suggested on here... Whoever you are I'm sorry I can't remember your name but thaks so much! It was great!!!!! 3nodding 3nodding 3nodding exclaim whee

Seira_Phim It was like that for me, only in my case it was my mom who gave me the book to shut me up, and I was hooked and started buying them myself whenever I could. Same for me! My mom was sick of me complaining that I had nothing to read. She brought me a whole stack of books and told me to stop complaining. The elenium looked the most intresting.

$10 a book. So the whole Bel/Mal series was $100. And the dreamers were about $30 each because I got them in hardback right when they came out. And the El/Tam was another $60 put together. Someone gave me the RoA.

$16 each for both volume 1 and 2 of the Belgariad. I find it easier to buy two big books rather than lots of little ones. Next up, the Mallorean!
