With Israel occupying Lebanon for up until a few years ago and you wonder why things don't get done? Or how about because members of the UN set the organization up to fail. If states like the U.S. actually wanted the UN to succeed it would.

We've increased in Operational Wars since 1980, and yet the UN has not stopped us from going have they?

You are refering to peace keeping missions or UN approved ones (GW1 was a un approved)...
