I don't know if any of you have noticed this, or if there is already a thread about this. But, I'll take my chances, anyway.
So, this thread about any about the V symbol, because why would you need threads about it? Well, if this is in fact the first one.
So, anyway. I was at my grandma's when the movie came out, which I didn't like since I was going to do somethung special when it did, but I was stuck there. So, I got bored and started drawing the anarchy sign, you know. The A, that has a circle around it. Of course, I draw mine facing down, because since anarchy is suppose to be oopsit of good, and blah, blah, so basicly it's just more of a symbolism thing, when you draw it up-side-down. Anyway, on to the big point, V's symbol/sign looks a lot like it. And I just can't help wondering if it's on purpose.
So, what's your input on it? Or, maybe you know something about it, that I don't. Then, by all means share it. If you wish.

"Bad" is supposed to be the opposite of "good"--not "anarchy."
And, yes, I have read about comparisons between V's emblem and the red-on-black anarchy A. And, yes, I do believe the similarities are deliberate (V is meant to be a full-blown anarchist). However, there are personal overtones to the symbol which, I'm theorizing, reflect his personal grudge (vendetta) against the institution which wrongfully imprisoned him.

I wasn't really thinking about which words I was using, and didn't really care, because I thought people would get my point. And if you don't know what it means, then why bother repling when you don't even what I'm discussing? It would have been alright if you would have asked from the start, that question, before trying to figure out what I'm talking about. M'kay. Don't push me. I may sound stupid, sometimes and have my mind in the gutter most of the time, but when it comes down to it, I know what I'm talking about.

Well, I have an interest in V for Vendetta (obviously), and I would just like to know what you originally meant to say when you weren't "really thinking about the words" and "didn't really care." Although I don't understand your original arguement, I sure would like to so I could, perhaps, contribute more to this topic than just asking you if you could explain things. Everyone in this guild is here to gain a better understanding of V for Vendetta and to learn from one another what the story means to each individual--not to be questioned about replying to something which he/she has difficulty comprehending. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start an arguement, it's just that no one, but a few people were replying to this thread, which I think is a rather good thread, but but only you and one other person did, so I figured it was about the things I said before, so people were just ignoring me, now. This the first thread I ever made in here, so I feel kinda insulted. No matter, because it doesn't really matter.

V's symbol is like the anarchy symbol and so much more?
Remember? V = five = the room he was in = vendetta and all that stuff
Basically, his whole life was tied into one letter
But yeah, it's totally the anarchy symbol's remix

Anarchy was a big theme in the book. They talked about it more in the book than in the movie. And Anarchy doesn't = bad. Anarchy = the absents of government. Evey and V live in a world where the government has total control. It is a fascist government that controls every thing, the media, the news, even the music on the radio is censored. There is a point at which destruction becomes desirable and in the book V sums it up perfectly. He says ,"Justis is meaningless with out freedom."
