In Majora's Mask, why didn't Link and Tatl just take Tael with them after they confronted the skull kid the first time? Post your opinions.

he couldnt because he was with teh skull kid during that time so they couldnt take him with!!
that would be so cool though a double targeting system!!!

It's "Tael".
No one can really answer that question without knowing the mysteries of Time. Why does Link not lose Tatl if he loses all of his disposable items? Why doesn't Link lose his mask? Why wasn't Tael taken with them? I don't know. None of us do.

Still think of double targeting *Drowls* oh sorry, wipe that off your keyboard and think of it! he could have two swords and attack 2 targets at once!!

For the sake of gameplay, two faeries would have consequently enabled double Z-targeting and that wouldn't have worked because of the camera. You couldn't possibly have it looking in two different directions at once.
Also, the end of the second encounter was when Link picked up the Ocarina and played the Song of Time. No one knew what the effects of playing the song would be, so none of them could have possibly known Link and Tatl would be thrust back in time. Had Tael known this I'm sure he would have joined Link and his sister, but because he didn't he just stayed put.

That is true, but I know I experimented some more with going up there after the first time and before the last. Also, he could have joined them going in to the moon. . . I don't know.

He wasn't going to just leave with some stranger You mean Tael was friends with the skull kid. Tatl was the fairy that journeyed with Link. But, Tael did turn against the skull kid at the clock tower. He called for help from the four gods whom were imprisoned by the skull kid. Then the sull kid hit him!! Link wasn't really a stranger either because his big sister (I think she was older anyway) was with him.

(and Tatl is yellow. ^_^) Navi talks, while Tael probably rings like a bell like his sister, Tatl. 3nodding and Tael would've probably gone with Link and Tatl if he had known they were to go back in time, but since every time they do that, the world gets reset and Tael can't remember meeting them on the Clock Tower... now i wanna go play the game... ninja pirate
