I was looking at this Electric slide guitar DVD that my Dad has, and I thought, "What if I could play slide on bass?"
But I dunno, it may just sound as bad as when I had my Dad's slide guitar on distortion and played around with that...
Or, if the right techniques are used, you could get a pretty decent tone out of it *nods*
DEESCUS!:
*Slide Bass *Different strings? *Would it sound good, or bad? *Should I burn in a flaming inferno? ((Self Deprecation is so funny xD))

I guess it could happen, but it might be a bit harder to play than Slide Guitar..
Meh, if it works, then that'll be one more technique that's rarely used under my belt, woo!

give it a shot. I suggest not using a glass slide though, go with copper. Glass and chrome plated slides will definately chip and tarnish quick from bass strings. My glass side has a completely ravaged side from me doing my "revving engine" effects, and thats just from the puny little wound strings on my 6stringer!

bambulus I tried that once.
Didn't work.
xd It works better if you don't do extensive "quality control" research on the bottles, which basically comes down to downing them all and finding the right bottle. If you did this, then the reason it didnt work is because you were trying to play slide with a door, not a guitar. Unless you werent talking about my beer bottle comment. . .

I got pretty good sound out of that cane.... I tuned the bass to open G and had at it! Fun fun fun. I always liked using vaccum tube heat sinks for slides.
