This will be my first Gaian Holiday event! xd As I understand it, they do crazy, fun things for Christmas, Easter & Halloween. there are special items to collect, and on Halloween your avatar may even get altered! eek I've also heard of it snowing for Christmas in Towns, so flowers can't be collected til spring, & crazy Easter Egg Hunts chasing bouncing eggs all over the place! If any of you have been through Gaian Holidays before, would you tell us Newbies about it here so we can get an idea of what may be going on? And did I miss any Holidays or other Special Event days?

Ditto for what Eirwyn said. Have heard vague references myself to the snow and craziness at Halloween. What's the 411?
Here's another idea... What about a Halloween get-together here on Carolina Gaia? We could have a scary dream avi thread and talk about past Halloweens (best/worst trick-or-treat experiences, strangely decorated houses in your neighborhood or your own house, etc).
How does this sound to everyone?

I have seen my share of Gaian Holidays This is going to be my 3rd halloween here. (I've been on gaia for 3 years now.... yeah, I dont have a life...) The Holidays can get pretty crazy here on Gaia, and not to mention laggy. There will surely be trick or treating again, and from how it looks, Jack will be making his annual appearence to give out gifts when you bring him the candy you collected. The holiday events are always different though, so you never really know whats going to happen.
For example; Two years ago for haloween there was a zombie outbreak. If you became infected, you bit people and infected others, but if you wern't infected you shot the others.... Last year on haloween there was the Grunny outbreak. It does snow in the winter time in gaia as well.
I think its a good idea to have a little haloween party here! I have to work haloween night, but I dont leave the house till around 10:20 pm.

Yes, I'd heard of the zombie outbreak--I think one of the zombies is a member of the Doctor Who Guild! biggrin Where do we trick-or-treat? the shops, or in Towns? And where is Jack usually at?

Has anybody here seen the threads about the hidden (& possibly unfinished) game for the Christmas Event? It's like you are in the Zurg ship & enter passcodes to get to new levels. So far the only thing anyone has seen it give is a number sequence that looks an awful lot like a date....Nov. 29th! What are those crazy, sneaky Zurg up to now?

Nope, haven't heard anything about that. Then again, I try to stay away from the barrage of topics in the main forums. I really only go there if there's something I want to find out. Sooo, maybe I'll keep an eye out for something new about that.

Now that we've done Halloween here at Gaia and Thanksgiving's come and gone, what can we expect for Christmas?
Has anyone here been on Gaia for previous Christmas events?
And how do you think the aliens are going play into the Gaian Christmas merriment? Guesses, anyone?

I was here for last Christmas... but I don't really remember what happened. Oh, wait. I missed it. >>; Or did I?
Wait! It's all coming back to me now. That's when I watched three seasons of SG1 in three days... so my memory is a mite bit fuzzy.
Um, there was the whole thing with the elves and that guild with them... I think there were elf clothes going around some. The whole plot was all these diaries and stuff with the elves, and experiemental things going on at Santa's factory.
Ah! Here... just refound the link... http://www.gaiacast.com/wiki/index.php/Christmas_2005
Sorry. That entire time is literally a giant blur for me. My mom got me all eight seasons of SG1 for Christmas, and I watched many episodes one after the other after the other.

All eight? How lucky! That must've cost quite a bit. I would probably have done the same.
