Mm, I'm really into Jet at the moment. And the Redwalls.
I also just got a Futureheads cd, but I'm not as into it.
I like music in general. It's all good (:
That's just what I've been listening to recently.

I like mostly all music...EXCEPT Rap, Country, Pop, Hip-Hop, Blues, or anything like that. I'm a metal head, people. Anything Rock, Punk, Heavy, Metal, Emo, Grunge, and Techno. So, yah. In my theory, Rap puts the R-A-P in 'CRAP', and Country fills in the C.

I really like all kinds of music...as long as the lyrics don't suck :0 LMAO. You don't like songs with crappy lyrics, and you listen to rap? xD Haha, ok, that's a good one. Rap is sooo unbelievably distasteful, I want to literally kill the rapper when I hear them singing about sex, abusing women in a sexual manner, and about children who can't afford things while the person rapping can probably afford 10000000x more than what they'll ever have their hands on. RAP EXPLOITS THE GENERAL PUBLIC. I think it's just a bunch of black [or the occasional white] assmonkeys who can't sing, so they talk thinking that there's substance in it. Rock, however, is more upbeat, and more people get into it easily. Why? Because rock has the one ideal thing that all other music like rap and country lack: a good sense of beat WITHOUT ABUSING ANY OTHER PERSON LISTENING TO IT. Example, I listen to Disturbed. Very good band. And, guess what? They have good messages in their songs. Their lastest hit, "Land of Confusion", talks about the corruption of nations and that they're creating their own end. That is a GOOD message, because people see governments falling apart all the time. And the beat helps get into it. More of a revolt against politics.
Ok, that's all I have to say for now. Anyone wishing to oppose me on this? =]

Ok, that's all I have to say for now. Anyone wishing to oppose me on this? =] Other than people stereotyping rap as being nothing more than sex and drug abuse, rap is fairly okay. It's really not your place to tell him anything. 1. You don't know what kind of rap he listens to. 2. Obviously you think all rap is the same, it's not. 3. Because someone likes something you don't, that gives you a reason to tease them? WRONG. 4. Music is supposed to be judged on lyrics as well as the beat. So what if you can't stand the sound? Turn the sound down and read the lyrics.
And alot of rock music is about sex.
Anyone who can sing about their life is talented. You have no right to criticize them. Either get off of your a** and make a hit song, or stop saying something sucks because you dislike it.

So if a rapper sings about how he grew up and how he improved his life, that is considered crap? I'm sorry, but that's b/s. Alot of rap songs today are distasteful compared to older rap. You were rude to my brother by stating what he said is a joke. You don't even know what bands or singers he listens to. Rock is about drug abuse and sex but seeing as you like it, it's different from rap? Again I say b/s. and don't tell me "You're wrong, not all rock is about drug abuse and sex." I grew up listening to actual rock bands like Pantera and Def Leopard. In my oppinion, newer rock is crap. You have singers singing about killing themselves, sex, and drug abuse. It's basically displaying the world through music. You don't like the sound? Whoop-dee-do, don't listen to it, but don't criticize others for liking something you don't.
In short, I agree with Masami.

I did, I did.
Music is simply a freedom of expressing one's feelings and views on things. People are trying to suffocate music and even art. I don't know why, but it seems like everyone would rather all be the same than have differences. Metallica is a pretty good band too.
