Welcome!
1. Welcome! <--- You are here. 2. Rules 3. News 4. Banners 5. Mods 6. Admin Protocol 7. Guild Newsletter
Hello there, and welcome to Gaia's first literary magazine. This magazine is onrunning. Each month a contest will be held and opened for member voting. The top three entries will earn prizes and be placed in the "Literary magazine" subforum in a sort of compiled literary magazine.
There is no set date for when the winning entries will be posted. We have lives, we can not guarantee that any date we set will be kept to, though we will stick to schedule as best we can, and probably will the vast majority of the time.
Just to be clear on some things...
Your piece of work will only be entered into the contest if it is in the 'Finished Work' subforum by the deadline. However, 12 hours' leeway is permitted due to time zone deviations. Your 12am may be different from mine.
You can only post something once in its final form. ONLY ONCE. If your piece of work does not get chosen for that month, it can then never be chosen to be put on the front page.
And people, please be respectful to everyone else here. Above all, this is a place for writers and artists to create things and get feedback on them. It's for fun. You don't even HAVE to post anything you write or draw, you can just critique and/or read other peoples' works.

Rules
1. Welcome! 2. Rules <--- You are here. 3. News 4. Banners 5. Mods 6. Admin Protocol 7. Guild Newsletter
1. All Gaian rules and the ToS apply.
2. No flaming.
3. If you make some kind of comment on something someone has posted, and the comment only mentions the bad aspects, then it must contain at least one suggestion. Even if you word it nicely, it will be considered a flame if there isn't at least one piece of advice in your reply.
4. Constructive criticism is not only encouraged, but demanded.
5. Everything that a person posts here must be original or otherwise obviously stated that it's not - and then you must also include who it belongs to. The only time it would be acceptable to use someone else's work would be if you're writing something in response to it. If a single example of plagiarism is spotted, you will be banned. No exceptions.
6. Write with correct grammar and complete sentences. It's one thing to make a mistake here and there, or make a joke by going 'o rly?' instead of 'Oh really?'. But it's an entirely different thing to tp lk ths bc ur soooo 1337. If you use chatspeak, or leet speak, or whatever you call it, you will be warned. If you don't stop, you will be banned. It's one of my pet peeves, and just downright annoying.
7. Please don't post on the front page. Any posts made by anyone other than the crew will be deleted. Any deliberate repeat offenses will likely result in you being banned.

As of right now, we have very few banners. I'm hoping that will change soon. PM the captain or the vice-captain if you make one, so that we may list it here. Commisioned by Sepik and made by Xanu. Made by Tasari. Mods 1. Welcome! 2. Rules 3. News 4. Banners 5. Mods <--- You are here. 6. Admin Protocol 7. Guild Newsletter
The mods are all-important. Listen to them. If they tell you to do something, do it. If they tell you not to do something, don't. If you think a mod has treated you unfairly for whatever reason, contact the captain and she'll sort it out. (A note to all the ambitious people out there - the best way to get promoted is to post intelligently and post often.)
Captain: PyroAurah
Vice Captain: PadawanCyn
Crew: Sepik Rhiannon2006 duello
A Note to the Crew (normal guild members can skip this part)
You guys don't need to worry about much, really. More than anything, being Crew opens up options, particularly in areas that only the captain can influence, such as the building of a new subforum. The following are just a few examples:
1. Should you think that someone is worthy of a promotion, let me know, give me a few reasons why they should be promoted, and chances are good that I'll raise their rank.
2. If someone is breaking Gaia ToS and/or guild rules, you have permission to give them a warning. If you think they should be banned, run it by me and I just might ban them.
3. Feel free to post anywhere you like except for the "Read Me First" topic on the front page. Basically, this permission means that you are free to critique an official post from myself or another mod, or you may elaborate on it if you feel elaboration is neccesary.
4. You may also create mini-contests should you want to. This means that you set up the contest rules, deadlines, prizes, voting procedure, and anything else you want to add. It's your contest. Also, if you want me to, I can make your contest "official" and allow your winners to submit their works to the Literary Magazine. Others are permitted to make mini-contests, too, but I will not make them official.
Have fun with your shiny, spiffy powers! ^_^
-Aurah

Admin Protocol
1. Welcome! 2. Rules 3. News 4. Banners 5. Mods 6. Admin Protocol <--- You are here. 7. Guild Newsletter
All official messages from the admins are in blue.
Hence if someone is a moderator and they are using blue (not dark blue) font in normal size, it is an official notice and you should really take the few seconds required to read it. Really. It is typically an update or message on procedure and applies to the entire guild with no exceptions.
Note: Information and protocol posts, such as these and the first post in each subforum, can only be made by the Captain or Vice Captain.

Guild Newsletter 1. Welcome! 2. Rules 3. News 4. Banners 5. Mods 6. Admin Protocol 7. Guild Newsletter <--- You are here.
We have a guild mule. This mule is used to send out important guild-wide newsletters and notices to all members who want them, as well as give out contest prizes. Sign-up is not needed to recieve contest prizes, but if you want to get newletters through PM rather than having to check the message board.
If you would like to recieve these PM notifications, simply add the Lit Mag Mailwoman Sossal to your friendslist.
I hope you will take full advantage of our mule! ^_^
