Here's my second one, a Harvest Moon DS story. Enjoy! whee

A Harvest Moon: Sprite Station/DS Story

Chapter One

Two lone figures stood on the shores of a beach with snow white sand, the late evening gloom washing over their bodies and the rushing waves at hightide providing a low hum of cheering like an onlooking crowd. The mood around them was heavy, and the two remained at a standoff, glaring at one another.

The figure on the right panted from exhaustion, her long, disheveled, wavy blonde hair in even more disarray due to her battle with her opposite. She glared intensely at the woman opposite her, cursing her in her mind.

"Come now, Majyou-chan*, how long must we keep this up?" the other woman asked loftily. "Unlike you, I don't have time to fritter away on meaningless efforts." (*Majyou was the Witch Princess's Japanese name. 3nodding )

The Witch Princess snarled with rage as she sat atop her broomstick, her tattered black cloak draped behind her. She growled and shouted ferociously. "Shut up, Harvest Goddess!" she snapped. "I've had just about enough of you! And who said you could use my first name?!!"

The Harvest Goddess looked up at the sky, a finger on her chin and one eye closed in thought. "Really?" she asked with surprised curiosity. "I can't say that I've had too much of you..." She smiled. "And as long as we've known each other, I didn't think there was a need for us to be so formal."

The Witch Princess fumed, completely incensed. 'Damn you, Harvest Goddess!' she thought bitterly, glaring at her. The Harvest Goddess had long mint green hair that was held up in two large buns on her head with the exception of a single braid on one side and eyes as clean and pure an azure as the rivers that flowed through the valley. She wore a light blue strapless-bra-like top and a flowing skirt, a silky cape draped lightly on her shoulders and back. Her dangling earrings swished about as she moved, and flowers adorned her hair. On her wrists she wore two large gold bracelets. 'Prim, proper, perfect little Harvest Goddess,' the Witch Princess mocked. 'Everyone loves you, everyone admires you. But what about me, Majyou, the Witch Princess, who is just as powerful as she? No one even cares about me. It...It makes me...'

The Witch Princess's clenched fist trembled, and small tears formed in the corners of her shimmering brown eyes. "...It makes me furious!" she bellowed as she kicked off the ground and charged toward the Harvest Goddess on her broomstick.

The Harvest Goddess sighed and then charged forward, whipping up a nature spell in her hands.

The Witch Princess muttered a spell to herself, ending with, "...HMPH!", magic forming in her hands.

The two clashed in the center, thrusting their incantations at each other. As they flew back from the encounter, they panted sporadically, glaring intensely at one another.

"HA!" the Witch Princess scoffed, pointing accusingly at her opponent. "Our spells cancelled each other out! Now you have to admit that I'm just as powerful as you!"

"I wouldn't be so sure, Majyou-chan," the Harvest Goddess said playfully, smiling, winking, and wagging a finger at her.

"Eh?" the Witch Princess asked, blinking blankly.

The Harvest Goddess giggled and pointed at her own hair and then at the Witch Princess.

Following her gesture, the Witch Princess looked up at her head and screamed, mortified, clapping her hands on her face.

Her hair had been fashioned into the same style as the Harvest Goddess's, complete with little flowers adorned in it everywhere. "What did you do?!" Majyou cried in distress.

The Harvest Goddess laughed merrily, holding the palm of her hand parallel to her mouth. "Well, you said you were as powerful as me, so I thought you might like to look like me too, so...Tadaaa!"

The Witch Princess twitched in agitation at the phrase, her body quaking with a mixture of anger and embarrassment, tears welling in her eyes. "Just you wait, Harvest Goddess! I'll get you for this!" she screamed as she took off into the darkening sky, disappearing toward her home beside the Villa on the hill.

Watching her zoom off into the distance, the Harvest Goddess sighed. "She's always so agressive," she said fondly. "I think I really made her angry this time." She paused and then beamed. "Well, she'll get over it eventually."

"Harvest Goddess!" a small voice called from her feet.

Looking down in confusion, the Harvest Goddess smiled in surprise. Standing at her feet were three of her most trusted Harvest Sprites, her helpers. "Nik! Nak! Flak! I'm happy to see you!" she said cheerfully. "But what brings you here?"

Nik, the leader of the group garbed in a red coat and hat, stared up meekly at her, a sweatdrop on his head. "Harvest Goddess...you were the one who asked us to meet you here..." he replied hesitantly.

The Harvest Goddess paused for a moment in thought, admiring the night sky, and then she grinned in realization. "That's right, of course I did!" she announced. "I had almost forgotten!"

The three Sprites fell over on the ground in an exaggerated expression of disbelief. The Harvest Goddess laughed loudly, the back of her palm parallel to her mouth.

"You said you had a mission for us, Goddess..." Nik said as he stood, holding his forehead.

"Yeah, a mission, a mission!" Nak, a smaller Sprite in an over-sized light blue coat, the sleeves of which convering his hands and dragging the ground, said excitedly. He appeared to be the youngest of the three.

"That's right, I do have a mission for you," the Harvest Goddess beamed kindly, kneeling before the three.

"What kind of mission is it?" Flak, the third Sprite garbed in yellow asked. He was short and quite stocky, an odd characteristic for a Harvest Sprite.

"A special mission, Flak," the Harvest Goddess said, winking. "I need the three of you to travel somewhere."

"Ooo, we get to go on a trip??" Flak asked excitedly.

"A trip! A trip!" Nak cheered, jumping up and down.

"Where to, Goddess?" Nik questioned, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"I need you three to assist my dear sister," the Harvest Goddess explained.

"Sister?" the three repeated in surprise.

The Harvest Goddess smiled and then stood. "Tellus," she called.

In a puff of smoke, a woman appeared before them. She had long purple hair assembled in a similar style to the Harvest Goddess's, save with two braids in front instead of one, and kind purple eyes. She wore a beautiful rainbow-colored gown that reflected with a prismatic sheen. There were flowers and bunches of grapes dotted in her hair, and transparent wings were attached to her back. The woman smiled cheerfully at the Harvest Goddess. "Good evening, Terra-oneechan. What can I do for you?"

The Harvest Goddess, Terra, smiled at her younger sister. "These are the ones I was telling you about, Tellus," she said, gesturing with her hand to the Sprites.

Tellus followed the gesture and grinned delightfully. "Hello there!" she said joyfully, bowing her head in greeting.

The three Sprites, looking to one another with uncertainty, bowed to the new arrival as well.

"Nik, Nak, Flak, this is Tellus, my younger sister," Terra explained. "She's going to be acting as Harvest Goddess for the villages in the West."

"Eh??" the three Sprites gasped, and both women grinned at the three's reaction.

"B...But Goddess...I thought you were the only Harvest Goddess!" Nik said in surprised confusion.

"It's true, I am the Harvest Goddess for all the Villages here in the East," Terra explained. "But to be the Harvest Goddess for every village on the planet is very difficult. So that's why my sister Tellus and I split our dominions into East and West."

"S...So you're a Harvest Goddess too?" Nak questioned Tellus, an expression of awe in his voice and on his face.

Tellus smiled kindly. "That's right," she confirmed. "I watch over and grant the wishes for those in the West villages. But I'm afraid it's become rather difficult for me," she added, her face frowing in distress.

"Why?" Flak asked, tilting his head sadly.

"The lands I watch over have slowly been drifting away from me," Tellus explained. "I need some helpers to help me remind the people of me and of the balance of nature. If not, I'm afraid one of my villages will be changed into a theme park."

The three slumped sadly for a moment and then Nik brightened with an idea. He motioned for his brothers to come toward him, and the three formed a circle and whispered amongst each other. The two Goddesses watched them curiously as they conversed for a moment and then broke into a straight line in order of height, Nik, Flak, and Nak.

The three saluted the Harvest Goddess Terra. "Goddess, we'd like your permission to assist your sister!" Nik said stiffly.

"Eh?" Terra gasped, surprised. "But--"

"We feel that we'd be more helpful to her than we would be here!" Flak explained.

"Because you have lots of helpers here, ma'am!" Nak ellaborated, his sleeve covering half of his face as he saluted.

"So we'll have to decline the special mission you had for us in order to carry out this new mission!" Nik continued. "We are sorry, but you'll just have to give it to someone else!"

The two Goddesses looked at each other with uncertainty and then giggled together. "Very well," Terra nodded. "You three may go."

"Thank-you, ma'am!" the three saluted. They turned to Tellus. "Now, ma'am, shall we go?" Nik asked.

Tellus nodded and waved farewell to her sister. "So long, Terra-oneechan. Be good," she said.

"You as well," Terra said, smiling as Tellus and the three Sprites began to glow.

"Bye-bye, Goddess!" Nak said, waving.

"Bye, Goddess!" Flak said.

"We'll work really hard, Goddess!" Nik assured her.

"I'm sure you will, Nik," she said warmly.

In a twinkle, the 4 were gone, leaving the Harvest Goddess Terra alone on the beach again. "Hmmm..." she murmured to herself. "With those three gone and my other seven Sprites in Mineral Town...that leaves me with one-hundred-and-one Harvest Sprites stationed here." She beamed. "Everything should be fine," she said, nodding. And in a twinkle, she disappeared, leaving the beach empty once again.
