Methods of Binding What Should You Use?
---*---
a. What to Use
1. BINDERS - I've found that the best options for binding your chest are to use chest binders made specifically for that purpose, whether made with transmen in mind, or for men with Gynecomastia. Some of the more popular binders (along with their manufacturers' descriptions) are:
Underworks Double Front Compression Shirt - Style 997 -- A reinforced powernet panel throughout the front provides extra chest and mid-section compression. Made from a comfortable 70% nylon and 30% spandex knit that conforms to your body and moves with you, this invisible undershirt eliminates bulges throughout your upper body. It completelybinds the chest and leaves you looking masculine and athletic. It provides you with upper body support that yields a perfect posture and relieves back pain allowing for a great feeling all day long. Made in the U.S.A. (Note: This is what I used to bind my chest before my chest surgery. ~Bas)
Tri-Top Chest Binder - Style 983 -- Three powerful layers of medical industry grade 70% nylon and 30% spandex throughout the front, and a single back layer, provide maximum comfortable chest binding. Mid-tummy length. Tested and effective in full binding and for sporting related binding and protection. Made in the U.S.A.
T-Kingdom Short "Sports Bra" Style - Model 1300 -- The binding area is made of velcro and stops about 2cm above the belly button. T-style back. User can easily adjust the width according to their chest. Feature: light and easy.

2. HEAVY-DUTY SPORTS BRAS - These can be utilised mostly by smaller-chested guys; the compression from a high Lycra content is enough to flatten them out reasonably well. A popular example is:
Title 9 Sports The Frog Bra -- This pullover bra got the highest rating from our largest breasted testers, and these women have tried every bra. Most bras are made of knitted fabrics that give, not control. But our bra is made of a stretch woven fabric, plus a whopping 32% Lycra®. Whew!!! As one of our testers said, "It's almost like not having breasts at all. Well almost. "Warning: major masher bra. 45% cotton, 32% Lycra, 23% nylon.
==
3. NEOPRENE WAIST-CINCHERS - Not the ideal solution, but easier to acquire and afford for guys with limited resources. You can find them at many drugstores and department stores like K-Mart and Wal*Mart.
---*---
b. What Not to Use
1. ACE BANDAGES - It might seem like a safe enough idea, but using ACE Bandages to bind is a very bad idea. The way ACE Bandages work is that the more you move them, the tighter they cinch, creating the compression and immobilisation needed for the injuries they constrict. Naturally, translating this to using them for binding... The more you move and flex during your normal daily routines, the tighter the ACE Bandage will go around your chest. This can create severe back problems. In addition, ACE Bandages do not stay in place well at all, especially for larger-chested guys. Stay away from this option.
==
2. TAPE OF ANY KIND - Duct tape, masking tape, electrical tape, gaffer's tape, packing tape, whatever... Don't use it! Applied directly to the skin, it can create rashes and irritation, breakouts, and pain. Even if you use it over a t-shirt or bandages or the like, tape still does not breathe, leading to sweat and bacterial buildup (ew), and it doesn't flex or move with you, either, creating the potential for even more back problems, and impairment of your breathing. This is your absolute worst option for binding; it's better if you don't bind at all rather than do this.

Techniques of Binding How Do You Do This?
This is going to be a pretty short section, because it's rather simple to get yourself pretty flat without that weird "speedbump" look nor pesky cleavage.
1. Put on whatever binding method (referred to from here on out as "the binder") you plan to use (hopefully not ACE Bandage or tape!) leaving yourself enough room to reach up under the bottom of it comfortably.
2. Reach under the binder and pull each breast out toward your side and down. This makes it so they're not mooshed together in the middle for a cleavagey-look, and so that they lay flatter and more like pectoral muscles.
3. Finish putting on the binder, pulling it down, smoothing it out, etc.
Voilà. It takes a little practice to get it looking and feeling right, but the out-and-down method will get you flattest and most natural-looking, from the experience of many guys who have been binding for years.

Transgent Submitted Content What Other Guys SayLycorian http://double.net.tw/english/Double is a taiwanese store similar to T-Kingdom. It has many more models, and is reputedly higher in quality, if significantly more expensive. I own one of the phased out models, the Airvent Zip, and it works fabulously, and is as comfortable as something that compresses my breasts can possibly get. It's much better than the underworks binder, because it's made of reasonably soft material, and it stretches in the back and binds in the front where it counts. This web site also sells lower body underwear for shaping the hips. It also sells steamer-style swimsuits with built in binders for swimming in comfort without losing mobility due to wearing a t-shirt. The customer service is AMAZING. I emailed T-kingdom about one of their binders and never, ever got a reply from them. Whereas I emailed these folks asking if they had any of their phased out model still in stock, and I got a swift reply, and they were willing to pull one of their mediums out of their remaining supplies for me. Most importantly, they take paypal! Mango Products is a packing store, but it's also the United States distributor for three models of Double binders. I recommend Double, but if you prefer to get it from a United States distributor, Mango is a pretty nice site. alexpc For guys who can't afford to shell out $30 or more for a new binder (like me), The Transitional Male hosts a Big Brothers Used Binder service. They send quality used binders, as well as some that were purchased but not used, from brands like Underworks, Double T and International Male, as well as Title-9 Frog Bras and the equivalent among other brands. Binders usually cost around $10 or so plus shipping and handling (usually around $3 for U.S. orders), are pre-cleaned, smoke/odor-free (unless otherwise stated beside the specific binder, and even then it is required to be minimal to avoid aggrivating Nick's allergies). Title-9 Frog Bras tend to go for $5 and off-brand binders are usually free (only pay shipping and handling). Paypal, cash and money orders are accepted. The condition of each binder is placed in its description. Note: reading the FAQ on the page is important. Anyone who doesn't read the FAQ will be unable to order a binder from him. And it's also a good idea to donate old binders anyone might have that they no longer use as from time to time the supply does run a bit low. Donators are elligible for a free c**k Strap for doing so.
