What is a "FES"?
FES stands for Foreign Exchange Student.
A foreign exchange student is someone who spends 6 months or more in a foreign countrey studying.

How do I become one?
They are several ways to become a Foreign Exchange Student but the most common one is to contact an organisation that specifies in language camps and Foreign exchanging in common. You could of course set it all up by yourself but I wouldn't recommend it and you'll probably come off cheaper getting assistance from an organisation anyway.

Organisations! Will they are numerous of organisations specialising in foreign exchange students and they are more then willing to organise your year for a fair, and high sum of money. I personally went with EF since they were my cheapest alternative to were I was going, that and the fact that I don't belive that the organisation will matter that much in the end. CCI and WH are...not good. At all. I have no clue how you missed YFU, Rotary, or ASSE. EF is ridiculously overpriced. If you're a US citizen, look into NSLI-Y, YES, and CBYX scholarships. Come on over to cultures-shocked.org if you want a better exchange student forum. smile
