As you step threw the doors of the caffeteria you notice that this is a very very large room. Its a circular room with many tables and chairs for the students to sit in. There are a few different windows open for those whom wish to have school lunches. For others who want to have something abit more..."Fast" There are several vendors located around the room that serve your favorite objects from your favorite fast food resturants.

For those whom enjoy eating and relaxing outside there is a patio area where you can go. Its underneath a large canopy with white wire table and chairs. And on the really hot days they turn on the misters to keep you cool.

"I ain't picky," Vade answered nonchalantly. "As long as it looks like food I'll eat it."

Sure, he was rather impressed by the sheer magnitude of it all, but it was only a cafeteria. No sense making such a spectacle of it. He glanced at Gabe whom he was sure did not share his opinion, so he kept it to himself.

Vade shrugged and followed Gabe over to the counter. He stared at the menu awhile, especially the prices, and finally picked out a hamburger and small french fries. For a drink, he just had water.

"A litte too nice if you ask me, but meh. I can't complain. Aesthetics are important to some people i suppose," Vade replied. "I just hope the food's as good as the architecture."

He took a bite of the burger, his mind lingering on what Gabe had just done.

"You know, I could have paid for that meself. I don't much like takin' handouts."

"well, for future reference you don't need to thank me for things like that. Sometimes i can't help meself. Ha. Makes me sound like a good guy don't it?" Vade scoffed to himself.

"No wonder you're so small boy-o, eating like a...well a thing that eats leaves...Are you one of those veggie types then?" he continued after a moment of awkward silence.

Vade didn't really wait for an answer before focusing his attention on his food. He was trying to calculate in his head how much money he had and how much a regular meal cost, but he'd never been much of a math whiz...never been much of anything on the schooling front other than an expert at detention, suspension, and expulsion. He sighed and decided not to worry about it. For him, thinking never led anywhere he wanted to go anyways.

Vade blinked, briefly reminded of how he'd been after his own ma was killed. He'd taken a more direct route through grief and all the self loathing mental problems that followed, and had the scar on his arm to prove it. That had been a long time ago however, and there was no reason to cry over spilt milk. He was however starting to see how much the two of them seemed to have in common.

Shaking his head he took the last bit of the hamburger and wiped his hands on a napkin.

"Classes?" Vade replied still chewing. He tried to recall the slip of paper that had them listed, but failed. "uh.....f*@% me, I can't even remember...Probably just the usual subjects...whatever those are...I'm technically only a junior though, since i kind o' missed a year a while back. What about you?"

"Who knows, you might start to like it boy-o. Me da registered me so i didn't have much sway in the matter either. Ah well, I don't really care. School is school no matter which way you slice it."

He turned his gaze upwards as if he was trying to scan his brain for information, "electives...electives...what did Sean stick me in...Ha, probably art and...hmm..." He shrugged, "whatever I'll look later."

He smiled haphazardly and glanced down at Gabe.

"Almost finished eatin' there?"

Vade pushed himself up, tossed away his trash and lit another cigarette. He'd have to factor cigarettes into his budget as well...

"I feel slightly used," Vade mused playfully. "Like the only thing I'm good for is my body!" He laughed at himself for a moment as they started walking back towards their dorm.

Vade was looking forward to a nice hot shower and a good long sleep. He looked around at the other people around the cafeteria who were chatting with each other. A few of them had turned to glance at the two of them. This was definitely a strange lot.
