Ok. ( I start a lot of my topics like that. xD) Anywho, this is a thread to discuss Ideas as to who might be riding the Green Dragon. Keep these things in mind when thinking about it:
* The content of the cover is one of the few things confirmed by Paolini. Apparently the cover will feature an emerald green dragon looking to the right.
* In March of 2006, Christopher Paolini was interviewed[1] by the fan site www.shurtugal.com where he revealed the following information:
* When a dragon and Rider become linked, the Rider's magic immediately takes on the color of the dragon's scales. However, this does not mean that if you are a magic user born with green energy, you cannot be paired with an amethyst-colored dragon, for example. On being linked, your magic will automatically change from green to purple - although you can change colors at your will. Paolini states that although Eragon's magic is blue, he could produce red fire if he wanted to.
* At the end of Eldest, the Varden favor Nasuada still in terms of leadership, although Paolini has hinted that in book 3 this might change.
* Paolini has said that it is possible that Eragon may have unknown family members that have not been introduced so far in the series, though he did not confirm this.
* Paolini also mentioned that in book 3 it will be revealed if Saphira ever finds a mate.
* More information about Tornac (Murtagh's old friend and trainer) will be revealed.
* Elva, along with "every other character," will have an important role to play.
* At Comic Con, 2006, Paolini said of the Green Dragon Rider that there are "plenty of clues to the new dragon rider in Eragon and Eldest." He also said that while the readers shouldn't be shocked by the identity of the new Rider, it may be "a tad bit surprising". Paolini also stated that there would be a change in Nasuada's character.
* It is unclear how Thorn matured to rival Saphira despite their age difference, but Christopher Paolini has stated that it will be revealed in the third book of the trilogy.

Honestly, I think that Arya is going to be the new rider. Think about it... Arya's Magic is green, and it has been confirmed that the dragon on the third books is Green. Also, it would make the bond between Eragon and Arya a bit tigher, which, according to Angela's perdiction, he would have a relationship with Royalty. I can't think of anyone else that Eragon would liekly love, and we already know that he's in love with Arya. Of course, thi is only a guess, but,,, hey, it's a shot. 3nodding

And there might never be, ya know a friend of mine has guessed to a point what the third book is about... to the fight with Galbatorix and everything. Although I want Arya or Orik to be a rider me and my friend bothe believe that it will be Roran. I mean, come on! Murtagh is Eragon's brother and Roran is his cousin!!! HELLO!!!! SIBLINGS ALL 'ROUND!! Doesn't that hint at something?

It can't be Roran. It just...wouldn't work. It would be strange to have Eragon and Roran as riders what with then being cousins. Besides, Roran has The whole of Cavahall with him, him being a rider too would just be strange. I don't really know who it will be, but Murtagh's theory sounds good. Then again it could just turn out to be someone really random like Nasuada.

hi, i believe it will be Arya or Roran. I've read on some other forums that people are favoring Arya, as to her use of magic being green. to me I think it would be cool to have roran but I would wonder how he would be trained. Arya is an easier pick because she already knows so much magic and has skill with a sword. (Not that Roran isn't awesome with his hammer).

Arya seems to be a popular one here as well (lol). So it seems to make sense that she MIGHT be the rider of the green Dragon. BUT, one must also consider ALL of the Inheritance Trilogy's characters and the roles that they play. It could be Arya, but it could also be another character that might not surprize so much. Still, I lean more toward Arya than anyone else at this point.

I kinda want it to be Roran... just fot the sake of when they find a way around the spell for Murtagh they can gang up and take down Galbatorix as like a family outting... lol but if not then it would be better if there was some character who we know from the first two books but never really payed attention to because of the small a** role they played and they came outta nowhere and became the last rider... that would be kinda cool too... like steve the mailman that was hiding behind the tent waiting to give Eragon a letter but was caputured and escaped when in the castle and found the egg and it hatched to him... haha that would be funny

I have a small theory. More humorous than anything ever. Here it goes razz
Katrina COULD be the new rider. Just think about facts before you shoot it down. Katrina's mother falls and dies in the spine. She could've been pushed for some reason or another, anything could be the reason. And remember Eragon's vision. Him and a figure sailing away while a screaming figure is on the beach. Roran screaming because his two most loved people are leaving. Katrina and Eragon. Extremely random. But the possibilities.

All of this is hurting my head but so far the choices are......
murtagh katrina arya orik.......(lol gabe) roran and......random person........
all likely choices in my book, except for orik.....that just doesn't seem right....and orik said he didn't want to fly in the second book I believe.

That is correct he actually does say that he wouldn't like flying very much... goes to reason cause he is a dwarf and dwarves are an earthly people.
