The town that lay just beyond school grounds is a sleepy old storefront town full of sleepy old people.
The only hint of life is the gas station/cafe which is a popular spot among the students and travellers who have wandered off the highway.
There is another town farther along, but one would most likely have to drive there to reach it in any reasonable amount of time.
Most of in town action will occur around the gas station/cafe.
(how does this sound everyone? feel free to suggest changes)

The walk down to town was a quiet one. Vade was going over his budget in his head and planning what he would do later that day. He didn't really absorb any of his surroundings, though it was nice to be somewhere quiet again.

Gabriel followed alongside Vade. Looking around and noticing how quiet this town was.
"This seems like a place for old people..its so quiet here."
He didn't mind it though. It was nice to see a place this quiet.
"Its got sort of an old feel to it..like back in the fiftys or somethin. But its nice."

"Aye," Vade agreed as he pushed open the door to the convenience store. It looked like any regular gas station, expect it was connected to the diner on the other side. Vade could here people clanking dishes in the diner portion and talking softly to one another. He blinked and proceeded to the counter to buy a couple packs. He then watched as Gabe milled through the aisles and wondered what he was looking for.

Gabriel looked threw the aisles curiously. He picked up a bottle of asprin. He needed it for his headaches. He didn't get them often but when he did it was a real pain. He looked up and noticed the diner the station was attached to.
He ran back to Vade and smiled.
"Hey Vade can we go eat in the diner? The food smells really good!"

"Yeah sure," Vade replied with a shrug. It did smell good. Down home cooking, or whatever Americans called it.

Gabriel smiled when Vade said yes and looked around. He bought a pack of soda's for the two of them to drink as well as some bottled water and applejuice. He paid for the items after vade got the things he needed and headed into the diner.

They sat down across from one another at a booth and an old woman in a waitress's uniform handed them menus. Vade looked it over momentarily before choosing a corned beef sandwich melt that came with a side of french fries.

"Vade! Vade!" cried Megan as she searched the town. Not far off she found him and Gabriel eating in a diner. "Vade," she said once more as she walked in. "I need help."

Vade heard his name being called and thought he was hallucinating until Megan appeared in the diner, out of breath and looking scared.
"Help? With what?"

"I...I don't know why, but Laures is acting violent...we had an argument about Gabe and...I had to leave. And you're the only one who stood up to him, so I came to find you."

"calm down love, take a seat. We just ordered and I'm sure as hell not fightin' anyone on an empty stomach," Vade motioned for her to go sit down next to Gabe. "You're all right here."

Gabriel nodded and moved over so that Megan could sit down next to him. Gabriel ordered a club sandwhich and then handed the menu to megan.
"Order somethin Megan. It'll help you calm down."
Gabriel looked over at her. He tried to think of why Laures would scare her so bad..then again..she had tried to stand up for him to..maybe that was it..he just hoped they didn't ask him about Laures...

Alice walks next to her. Her face was not soft but not hard and she showed very little emotion. In one hand she carried her sketch book and in the other was her small purse.
