Seiji pinched his nose and began rubbing his eyes, tired. He'd been studying for the past two hours at one of the tables of the campus library, and he'd only covered three subjects. Unlike most students at his school, it seemed, he was one of the few that actually cared for his classes. He'd slept at the library two nights in a row, also, having no roommate and reluctant to surrender to loneliness. He sighed and leaned into his books once more, praying for a reprieve.

Ferris let out a heavy sigh as she sat down at a table in the library with a couple of encyclopedias in her hands. She hadn't talked to anyone for a couple of hours, her roommat had yet to return. So she did what she always did when she was lonely, read encyclopedias.
Her big plan was to be on a gameshow and make a ton of money. Like Who wants to be a millionaire? or Jeopardy! that was the dream.

The library was the first room to cross on his ways back to the dorms. It was a late hour so it was mostly deserted, only leaving the hard core students to burry themselves into studies. One girl in particular caught his eyes. She was beautiful, better than anything he had seen at the school yet. But there was something strange about her choice of literature.
Is that girl actually reading a encyclopedia? He thought to himself as he doubled back, placing both his hands on the table side across from her.
"I like my academics just as much as the next guy." Kyoya said in a semi-quiet voice. "But I draw the line at reading encyclopedias."

Ferris looked up at the sudden presence of another person. Great, she thought, just when she didn't want anyone to see her. But when she really looked up she saw a boy in thin oval glasses. He was pretty cute in a scholarly way. She was aware that her face was turning an awkward scarlet color.
"Eh heh, well then you obviously are going to lose to me if we ever face of on jeopardy," she responded after a moment, with a small nervous smile. Why was she nervous? She'd been around plenty of guys in her time...

"You got me there." He replied with a slight smile across his lips.
He wasn't sure if she was serious or joking. To be honest, he wasn't entirely sure what Jeopardy was. All he knew was that it was an American game show, but had never seen it himself. "Anything interesting in their to make it a worthwhile read?"

"well, I guess it's got a little bit of something for everyone. Whatever you're interested in. Ah...like economics of different countries and stuff..." Ferris answered, observing the smell of money on this boy. She was still blushing perfusely and her normally confident and witty banter was taking a severe hit, so it didn't come out as well as she would have liked.

"That must be what you're interested in then, if you're reading it."
There wasn't a doubt in his mind that was geared towards him. He knew all about the first impressions people got of him. The glasses made them thing he was smart or a good student. His clothes screamed of fortune.
Normally he would just let people think whatever about him that they wanted. It was better they thought of him as a wealth, good student and person, instead of what he was really like. But something about the girl, and the few seconds he had known her, made him less compelled to walk away.
"But I take it it's not, because your color is getting close and closer to the color of your lips as I speak."

She blinked and put a hand to her cheek.
"Well I'm not...really interested in any of this stuff, but a girl's gotta have a plan for the future right?" She said turning her head to the side so her long, dyed black hair obscure her face. Mentally, she was kicking her own a** for being such a girl.

He smiled wider at her answer, she was clever without a doubt. She was the first girl he had met at this school, and he was hoping she would be the only one.
"Kyoya." He said simply, holding out his hand. It was a simple introduction, but he didn't feel it needed anymore.

Ferris turned her head back, gaining some more control over the color of her face. She brushed her hair behind an ear with one hand while reaching her other to shake his. Her confidence grew when her hand grasped his.
"Ferris," she answered, a more self-assured smile accompanying it.

It was a rather informal way of giving his name with a formal gesture. Kyoya had never introduced himself to a female before, and the best he could come up with at the moment was a handshake.
Releasing her hand after shaking it lightly, Kyoya placed both his hands on the table in front of them. His smile broke a litte into a slight laugh.
"Like the wheel?" After supressing his laughter, he lifted his hands and smiled again. "I'm sorry, that was really rude. I was only kidding."

Ferris sneered at him, "Oh yeah, like I haven't heard that seventeen million times."
She rolled her eyes exasperated when he apologized, finding that she couldn't stay angry at him. The last guy who'd made that crack ended up with a crack in his skull. She found that she actually thought the thought of him making a joke like that was kinda cute--in a weird way. A small smile formed at the corner of her lips.

Kyoya cleared his throat a bit as he still struggled to hold his composure. "I really am sorry. I just really couldn't resist. You should thank your parents for that."
"But it really is a beautiful name. And unique." He said after a moment of silence.

"don't sweat it, my parents left me with a lot of stupid things the name's the least of my worries," she responded smiling at the fact that he'd called her name beautiful. She couldn't think of anyone else who'd ever said that, and if they did, it didn't have the same ring to it.

"There seems to be a lot of that going around here. I think they should rename this school "The place where all the kids with parent troubles go." Kyoya said, making light of the situation. "Would you mind if I say down?"
