Wait... Did I miss osmething? After Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the entire Gerudo race just kinda disappears. Has that ever been addressed?

Well, in Windwaker, Tetra mentioned that the Forbidden Fortress had once belonged to a group of theives/pirates. I'd always assumed this was a reference to the Gerudo.

Still isn't Ocarina of Time the first and Wind Waker the last? Wouldn't the Gerudos have contributed in some way? It'sm ore likely that after Ganon was "defeated" in Ocarina of Time, a mass genocide of the Gerudo Tribe took place that killed them all. Maybe those who owned the Forbidden Fortress were the few who survived and ended up as priates. There was a ship embedded in the Fortress, so they might've rna into theiro wn HQ in a storm and all died in the process. Maybe Ganon was hdiing amongst them andk illed them all? Who knows?

That kinda makes sense. Well, then again, they were in Four Sword Adventures. But you're right, they did just kinda disappear.

Didnt the zoras evolve into rito? It make the most sense. And there are only three gorons in Windwaker.

The Great Dkeu Tree turn the kokiri into the weird wood sprite things. The Gorons almost died out and the few living ones decided to be traveling traders despite the fact that they can't swin. What happened to the Gerudos!?!

Well, techinically there wasn't a huge genocide of the Gerudo tribe, because in Majora's Mask they became the thieves that stole Lulu's eggs, or part of them anyways. In windwaker, they must have not been chosen to be saved and thus they all died. Or maybe they were the pirates that crash landed then made their home at the Forsaken Fortress. Then maybe a huge epidemic took place and they all died except for Ganon due to any powers he had. There are many possibilities.

And an epidemic just doesn't work in Zelda. As for MM, that was an entirely different universe. The Gerudos could've been killed while link was away. A dark time in the name of good once the beacon of true light left.

My actual theory, or at least the one that I lean most to, is that their numbers were reduced greatly when link left for MM, and then they were picked to survive the thing, and then they went to the forsaken fortress. Then their numbers kept reducing over the years and they just died out.

Well, I don't see why they couldn't just be in a part of the game you never get to go to because the King of Red Lions doesn't let you. I mean, that is a pretty big sea, and only only see so much of it! whee
Remember, even if you were responding to someone else's post, everyone can see it and has the right to respond to it. This way, more ideas will be thought up and compared! heart

During Majora's Mask, a genocide of the gerudos began as the Hyrulians decided to cease overlooking the crminals that brought Hell upon their kingdom. Being sneaky as always, a number of them escaped and hid. When the world was flooded, the few survivors (limited in number by the lack of Hyrulians to mate with) became pirates on the same boat, calling the Forbidden Fortress home. When Ganon reutrned, he killed them all and took the fortress for his own.
Works?
