Please excuse the dust... these contests are still being set-up. But if you have a talent, show it off here for our enjoyment (and perhaps for a prize)!

I will need lots of help for judges each month! Please post if you are interested in helping to judge a category or two. Judges are not allowed to win a prize in that category for that month. And I would like judges to rotate, so please don't sign up to judge the same category the next month. But don't let judging stop you from entering! heart


Rules:

• Contests will begin on the 1st day and end on the last day of each month according to Gaia Time, PST.
  
• The theme of the monthly contest will be whatever GoPets monthly theme is xd heart (for example Jan07 theme = shopping)
  
• You are encouraged to incorporate the theme and/or relate your entry to Gaia or GoPets.
  
• You may submit as many entries as you want, but you can only win once per category per month
  
• The winners in each category will receive a Thank You Letter of that current month
  
• Runner-up prizes may also be awarded, depending on the number of entries eek heart

According to GoPets, this month's theme is shopping! I guess this is a rather broad category that could also include music/jukebox theme that I originally guessed it was O.O;; heart People are encouraged to incorporate the theme into their entry. Although it's not required. 3nodding heart

Here is my submission for the story contest:

Much Ado About Shopping

One day, many days ago, last week, I think, She brought us a new friend. A white winter rabbit. It hopped around in a little circle, how sweet! Then it hopped around the circle again... and again. I checked it's legs but one was not longer than the other. Basil, Aslan and Lucy didn't seem to mind, but it bored me before too long.

So, I stretched.

I sat.

I groomed myself with some fine shampoo.

When her guard was down, and the cursor hung low, I sprung into action. I leapt at it, and dug my claws in. She tried to shake me free, and I could sense her surprise, but I've never had my claws trimmed and I sharpen them on the sakura tree regularly. It was time to negotiate.

"Here's the deal, I'll let go, if you buy me a new toy! Shake up and down for yes, or left and right for no!"

There was a pause. It was so long I wondered if she'd become distracted by that Gaia site again. Finally the cursor shook just once, up and down. Victory! I am a great negotiator with people who love cuteness.

So, hanging onto the cursor, she took me shopping. We browsed high and low, all over the map, in the regular stores and into privately owned user shops. It was grand. I admired some of the decor, spotted some lovely things. I was about to settle on an oasis, and so checked to make sure we had enough.

The amount of shells available was very low. Only 35 gold shells. So I asked: "What's my limit?"

The cursor parked me on the url bar and typed back: 35 gold shells.

When she typed that I realized how selfish I'd been. Here was I, demanding all these things, when money was tight. She'd obviously spent so much on all the things I already had, that she had only that bit left, and was perfectly willing to part with it for my happiness. I knew then that I didn't need anything else. I have a great friend in Her, and that's better than anything you can buy in a store. The cursor came close to pick me up. I held up a paw to stop it.

"It's ok. Let's go back home. I want to see that bunny again. I don't need for anything else."
