Ok is Belgarion an immortal? Sorcerers usually are but none of the other heirs of iron-grips live forever even though they are marginally talented. If he is an immortal than will Geran his son ever be King of Riva?

Yes he is. They talk about it in the end of the Seeress of Kell. He's immortal and C'Nedra will live a few hundred years because of her dryad heritage. I imagine they'll wait until Geran's ready to be king and then retire to the vale. That's just my theory, though.

Yes, we learned in The Mallorean that sorceress even those as inexperienced as Senji are eternal. Even Grolims live for thousands of years at least in the case of Chamdar/Ashrak.

Hmmm. I always thought that the reason they lived so long was because they were forced to by the prophecy. I thought that since the prophecies were more or less complete that Belgarath and the others would finally live maybe 70 years more or something and then die. I never thought about Ce'Nedra or Garion as living longer than a normal lifespan, though now that I do think about it it makes sense to me. I never looked at Ce'Nedra's Dryad heritage even though it kinda slaps you in the face! lol, this is food for thought!

Plus isn't the reason they give Durnik his second life because he cannot be less then Polgara. Wouldn't that make Ce'nedra fully immortal too. Also their marriage wasn't a spur of the moment thing to where she wasn't supposed to be wed to a sorcerer. It was planned thousands of years in advance.

Yes, Garion is eternal, poor him, after all he's going to have to deal with Ce'Nedra and all of his daughters for several centuries courtesy of her Dryad heritage
I think that eventually, he'll just say that he's had enough, abdicate, and hand the throne over to Geran once he feels that Geran was ready. It's the sensible thing to do, and Garion is one of the more sensible of the characters.

Yeah, but he might accidentally cripple Geran that way. I think he'd set a date, because otherwise he could sit on his a** for a few hundred more years, saying he didn't think Geran was ready. And Geran would be too scared of stepping into his godlike daddy's shoes to even think of a coup.
