Have any of you read The Giver? It's, like, the most amazing book in the history of everything. It's about this guy named Jonas, who lives in a community where things are very... sheltered. He gets assigned his job and learns some of the truths about the world. (I can't explain it any more because I don't want to spoil it) I guess it's kind of a bildungsroman, but it's not dumb like most of them. It was written by Lois Lowry. Now, go and read it, if you haven't already.
Bildungsroman is such a cool word. It means a coming-of-age novel.

I think my friend showed that to me at Target when I was looking for a book.
She said I should read it and I'm like I will later, but right now I wanna read dramatic, sad things.
So instead I got three dramatic sad books.
At least I hope they're dramatic and sad.
I know one of 'em is.
And the other two authors write sad stuff.
So..
..yeah..
I'm just ganna shut up and say I'll read it!
Eventually.

I suppose you could call the Giver dramatic and sad... but that would be a bit of a stretch. It does start with a pretty dramatic part at the begining: there's an airplane that flew over the community. *sarcastically* airplanes are pretty scary, ya know.
