Been to a concert? Wanna tell us about it? Do so here! And it doesn't just apply to Goo Goo Dolls. Write about any concert you've been to! That's right, ANY concert!

I haven't seen the Goos yet. redface I usually don't get to go to concerts very much, because I have to drive for an hour to get to them (most of the time anyways.)

I went to see Godsmack/Rob Zombie last September though. It was a good show, but... Okay here's the story:

I'm headbanging to "Living Dead Girl", which is my favorite Rob Zombie song. And I look over to my left and, sure enough, two people are having sex on the lawn. gonk

I saw the Goos back in November for the first time, and all I can say is wow.... They are really something live. If I find any words to describe the concert I'll post em later. But for now I'm still speechless.

Same place I saw 'em! xD

I've seen the Goo Goo Dolls and Motley Crue live. I'll post reviews later. But for now I can say they were both amazing!

Here's my first Goo concert review!

Okay, so I went to see the Goo Goo Dolls on April 11, 2006 at the Opera House in Toronto. It was my first Goo show. I went with a friend of mine, and we got there early. We decided to go over to the side of the building to see if we could sneak a peek at the Goos. We were the only ones over there for the longest time, but then some other girls came to join us. There was only about 6 of us over there. The bus came, and the security guy with the Opera House told us that we had to go all the way back to the end of the street, but we didn't. Stressed him out for a little while though. Anways, they got out of this car that had been sitting there for atleast an hour, and got on the bus. My friend saw all three guys, but I didn't turn around in time and only caught Johnny. He waved at us because we all shouted his name. Hehe! We spent atleast half an hour convincing the security to let us meet them. Johnny finally came of the bus to go in for soundcheck, and we asked if we could get an autograph. He said "I have a marker" and we all ran towards him. I think we kinda scared him. So then Robby and Mike came off the bus, and I got them all to autograph my copy of Hold Me Up. Robby seemed really thrilled that I had that CD, and I told him I loved it and he gave me the peace sign before going inside. I got a picture with Johnny. Some girls that were back there spoke to Johnny, and he said "Enjoy the show". They didn't have tickets, so they told Johnny that they couldn't, and that they didn't have enough to buy any because the scalpers were selling them for $100 dollars apiece at that point! (They were only $20 on Ticketmaster) Johnny seemed really upset by that, and asked me and my friend if we had tickets. We told him we did, and then he turned to one of the guys on the crew or something and said "We can fit two more in right?", but there was three of them, and someone said that, so Johnny corrected himself and asked if they could fit three in, and put them on the guestlist!!! What a sweet man!! Just before he went in for soundcheck, I asked if I could have a kiss (I've had friends daring me to ask for years!) and he said yes!!! So he kissed me on the cheek and gave me this huge hug. What a sweetie!

The show totally rocked! They played all the new songs, plus some others. In no real order:
Stay With You
Let Love In
Give A Little Bit
Better Days
Feel The Silence
Become
Strange Love
Listen
Can't Let It Go
Without You Here
We'll Be Here (When You're Gone)
(those are all the new ones from the new album)
Big Machine
Naked
Name
Iris
Slide
Black Balloon
Broadway
Smash
Here Is Gone
(and I think that's it)

Johnny looked really happy, and was smiling a lot, so that was awesome. We weren't aloud to take pictures. I saw that one guy get kicked out, along with two others. I managed to sneak two pictures, but my camera was on the wrong setting, so they aren't the best. During the Give A Little Bit line "Give a little bit of my love to you", Johnny looked right at me and smiled! It was a general admission concert, so we were right up front.

We got to meet them after the concert too. Sweet guys that they are went to everyone out there for autographs and pictures. I got Superstar Car Wash autographed this time. Mike came around first, so I got a picture with him, and got a hug as well. Really nice guy! Then Robby came around, and I finally got a chance to tell him how much I love his hair!! He said thanks, and gave me this huge hug!! Then I got a picture with him, and told him that I loved the new songs, and that the song Let Love In was like I had imagined it (it really was!). He laughed and told me I should've called them and they could've gotten it done faster! Then Johnny came around, and I got another picture with him. My friend had dared me to ask him for another kiss, this time on the lips, so I did. I figured the worst that could happen was he'd say no and go on to the next person. I was really surprised when he actually said yes!! So I got to kiss him again, and gave him a hug, and told him he was the coolest guy I'd ever met, because he really was. I also had my stupid statement of the day by telling him that he looked like an angel on the stage. He sort of chuckled and said "Awww!" It was cute!

Here's the pictures I took:

I have the concert I went to in July '06 recorded on my mp3 player. ninja I loved it. But they could've done without the Counting Crows--more stage time for Johnny.

It was like a Beatles' concert--I was bawling almost. rofl We were sitting close to the stage, and he waved at me. heart (No comparison to those who got pictures. stare )

But at one point, there was a chick in the front row letting her friend lsiten to the concert on her cell phone. Johnny stopped right in the middle of "Name" and took the phone from the girl and was talking to her and such. Then he says, "Next time, don't be so cheap." It was great...Got me listening to The Working Title, too. ^_^ And I got a black balloon. o_o

They're coming here again soon--closer this time. On March 24th. $30 tickets! 4laugh

EDIT: I have about half of it transcribed. Let me see if I can find the file...

Here it is, my crappy word-by-word play-by-play of the concert xd . The concert was in Hershey, Pennsylvania, by the way.

Quote:
Stay With You

"All right. Hi." Laughs. "WHOA!"

Slide (whistles) "Sing along. Hey." *whistle*

"Hi. We had our day off here yesterday, and, uh, I gotta tell you, I was really amazed at what a cool place Harrisburg was. I mean, wow. Went over, got some good pizza--something called Grengar pizza, was really good, loved it. Got drunk. Yeah. Met a probation officer. I think she was drunk, too. All in all, we had a really, really great day and-and...

So we got a new album out called "Let Love In" and, uh, this is a song off it called 'Feel the Silence.'"

Feel the Silence

"Okay."

Black Balloon [ LIB ending ]
Smash
Tucked Away

"I wrote this song about a city that woke up one morning and realized it completely vanished off the map."

We'll Be Here (When You're Gone)
Iris [ LIB performance ] [ guitar stops working ]
-"All right. We're gonna go one more time here. [huff] I'm havin' a little trouble hitting the high note here, and I need some help. You guys gonna sing it with me? All right. This is an arena rock moment if I've ever seen one. All right. You ready?! All right, here we go."
-"All right."

~"That was pretty amazing. Thank you. Well, Robbie's gonna play one."
~This is from the new album, "Let Love In." Dance around if you've got a little square you can do it in. Here we go."

Listen

"This next song is, uh, it's the first hit that we ever had that played on the radio. And I've been hearing it in the supermarket ever since, you know? The best way to even out your ego trip, you know? You're like, cool, I'm in the supermarket and I can buy whatever I want and then the song comes on the speakers in the supermarket and you're like, 'Oh s**t, I'm so ********' uncool this is [dumb].

And people ask me all the time, 'So, like, when you're driving around in your car, do you, like, listen to your music?' And I'm like, 'Can you imagine, if, like, if I was sitting in my car listening to my music on my radio, and someone pulls up next to me. I would just be like, I would be this person in this car goin', 'You are the biggest ********' loser I've ever seen in my life.'

No, I don't listen to my music.

s**t.

Here we go."

I love both the Gutterflower girl story and the one about confessional, if you've seen either on YouTube. And the one where he's at the Kids' Choice Awards in '98-'99-ish--with the "rock star hair". ^_^

Well my mom got me and my friend tickets since we liked The Goo Goo Dolls and my mom was only going to see Lisa Marie Presley. We went Aug. 11, 2003 and it was at the Iowa Sate Fair in Des Moines, IA. Here is a part of my entry from that day out of my online journal.
"Lisa did like 5 songs. And she told us that this was her frist time in Iowa and then she is like god it's hot here. Then after her the real show started. The Goo Goo Dolls came out and it was freakin loud as hell and me and Britt stood up and danced and sang to some of the songs. We screamed so loud we felt like we almost lost our voices. This guy next to me was drunk and so was his gf cuz she spilt 3 beers on herself. And then near the end of the concert this guy about 2 seats down on the 2nd row was drunk as hell and dancin like crazy. We got 4th row on the 2nd floor. If u ever look on the map of the grandstands then u would see. We were right in the middle. On the Goo Goo Dolls site they say somethin about the Iowa State Fair and give ya 2 pics. The 2nd pic could of had us in it if it just went a lil more to the left up in the corner. Go and check it out! After the concert they had fireworks and damn they were the best this year. Then we left and on our way home 2 tan tour buses went by."
I know it doesn't say much but at least u get the drift. I know Johnny did say somethin about his gf at the time....something like he never wanted to go out with her. I cant remember but anyways it was a blast and I really hope everyone can get a chance to at least go to one of their concerts.
