Everytime my friends and I want to go somewhere and do something it always involves Detroit.
I hate it there! We always get stuck and drive around for 6 hours (not joking. We literarly get lost for 6 hours)
God. I need something cheap yet fun. Besides Hooka Bars.

I don't go to Detroit unless it is to go through it.
Rarely is there anything to see in Detroit, that interests me.

I don't want to go to Detroit for the strict fact that alot of my friends have horrible stories there.
One time my friend got out from a concert and went to his car. There was a black dude standing next to his car and asked "You got any spare change?" My friend said no, and the black dude slashed his tires!
I've got more, but long story short: i don't want to go cuz i'm afraid of getting shot or something gonk

I was outside a Coney Island up there once after a concert and one of the chicks with me started puking in the gutter. Every person walking down the street stopped and showed concern. At least one person helped to keep her from passing out and another encouraged her to feel better. This was at like 3 AM in a "bad" part of Detroit.

My grandfather lives at a somewhat bad part of Detroit (Houston-Whittier/Gratiot). You can often hear gunshots, but I have gone to visit him at night and had no problems.
The only thing you have to be afriad of, is getting pulled over (by cops) in a drug neighborhood. They often assume that a white guy in an all black neighborhood is only their to get some drugs.
Other then that, as long as you have no reason to get shot, you can walk down the street as late as you want. That doesn't mean you won't get mugged though...

i grew up and my family still lives over by plymouth and wyoming that area aint all that great but detroit aint all that bad. you come across the jerks like the one you mentioned who will do that stuff but it isnt all like that you just have to know where you are and relax. its kinda like the wild in some areas so to say those who think they are big and bad smell fear and feed on it. they use it to their advantage. i've been here long enough i just ignore them cuz i know bigger and badder so they dont bother me.
