Who would have thought, that one of the greatest inventions in modern history would lead to its downfall. It totally came from left field, something no one could predict. People thought the end of the world would of been our reliance on computers and artificial intelligence or our love of guns. No, our great downfall was our reliance on Soap. Yes, Soap.
You didn't see it coming, it was right in front of you, as you washed your hands or you washed your car. The very thing you used to clean would be the catalyst to the down fall of humanity.
At the turn of the Twentieth Century, people clammered to buy the newest line of soap products. In a age where Germs were highly feared and Germophobes had their way, this new line claimed to remove up to 99.9 % of all Bacteria...
Unknown to these people, their zealous endevors would leave the world a horror.
Eventually, everyone in that time used this new line of soap, leaving their clothes, homes, and lives sparkely clean. Without a disease in sight. Everyone was happy and clean.
Until the one day...Everything changed.
Unknown to those ancient people, that 0.1% of Bacteria that remained on all their surfaces evolved...Making it impossible to destroy with modern day cleaning agents. The viruses that were said to be killed off, finally fought back.
Since the people who used the line of soap were bacteria free, the good bacteria that prevented harmful viruses were depleated, allowing the viruses to invade and attack humans with ease.
The plague started very small, starting as a rumor that someone somewhere had died of an ordinary fever, the way the people in the 1500s did.
Suddenly it was in your reigion, and in your city, in your home. A plague that couldn't be fought since we used our antibiotics on a dormant enemy. The medicines that promised cures didn't work any longer and soon it seemed the world was infected with deadly Colds and deadly Flu and children started to die from chicken pox.
Viruses that were in remission came back such as Scarlet Fever and Polio came back with a vengence. People started to die at an Exponential rate, Soon You couldn't go anywhere that wasn't "secured" governments and economies were on hold for years because people were just trying to breathe without coughing up blood.
Scientists started calling this devastating pandemic , "The White Death" or "White Plague". Since people's white blood cells were insufficent in stopping diseases, and also to coin "The Black Death" that killed 1/4th of Europeans in 1347 A.D.
Ironicly in the amout of 3 and a half years of panic, One Fourth of the World Population died. Whether it was suicide or the flu, the dead lined the streets, fires of cremated bodys lit the sky line after dark. Not only did the people die but the renegade viruses started attacking animals and soon it became rare to see anything that represented life.
People started panicing, the ones who managed to survive started to reavaluate their lives and started to rebuild. Teamed with companies around the world man discovered a way to build suits that could sustian life. These sleek suits began to be called Sterile Survival Suits or [SS-Suits].
At the end of the 4th year, their were cities that became huge Bio Domes that could sustain life and hold on to the smallest amount of Normalicy left in the world.
Only the largest Cities became bio domes, the poor cities were quarantined and forbidden to enter. Your town was one of these.
In the course of the rebuilding process, a company that build and distributed the SS-Suits called Sky-Corp patened the suit design and suddenly became a corrupt monopoly and gained unpresidented power over whole countries who Needed them to survive. The company leader was almost as mysterious as the company itself...
Countries started falling on their knees in debt under the Sky-Corp corrupt and Harsh demands. In some way Sky-Corp became God, You Thanked Sky-Corp for Life and Sky-Corp decided which countries and People were most deserving of Life.
On the streets it suddenly felt as if Sky-Corp ruled the World, Sky-Corp was Law and it even put into place a Police force that used an updated suit, that looked more like armor than a life suit. With this Police Force, any one who ventured unannounced into any of the quarantined towns were never seen again.
There is even a City built exclusivly for Sky Corp where strange tests are said to be held...Rumor has it that there is even a cure somewhere out there, something that can make the body fight the strongest and most advanced diseases.
The Secret Police of Sky-Corp carry around heavy machine guns that were "nessessary in order to maintain the peace." These guys are bullies and can get anything they want, free drinks, women, anything! And Since Sky-Corp is God, God's messengers can't be Evil Can They?
